1 God, why have you rejected us forever? Why does your anger smolder against the sheep of your pasture?O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? Why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?아삽의 마스길. 하나님, 어찌하여 우리를 영원히 버리셨습니까? 어찌하여 주의 목장의 양 떼를 향해 주의 진노가 연기처럼 타오릅니까?
2 Remember your congregation, which you purchased of old, which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your inheritance: Mount Zion, in which you have lived.Remember thy congregation, which thou hast gotten of old, Which thou hast redeemed to be the tribe of thine inheritance; And mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.옛적에 사들이신 주의 회중을 기억하소서. 주의 기업의 지파가 되도록 구속하신 그들과 주께서 거하셨던 시온 산을 기억하소서.
3 Lift up your feet to the perpetual ruins, all the evil that the enemy has done in the sanctuary.Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual ruins, All the evil that the enemy hath done in the sanctuary.영영히 폐허가 된 그곳으로 발걸음을 옮기소서. 원수가 성소에서 저지른 그 모든 악을 보소서.
4 Your adversaries have roared in the middle of your assembly. They have set up their standards as signs.Thine adversaries have roared in the midst of thine assembly; They have set up their ensigns for signs.주의 대적들이 주의 회중 한가운데서 으르렁거리며, 자기들의 깃발을 표징으로 세워 놓았습니다.
5 They behaved like men wielding axes, cutting through a thicket of trees.They seemed as men that lifted up Axes upon a thicket of trees.그들은 마치 빽빽한 숲을 도끼로 찍어 베어 내는 자들처럼 굴었습니다.
6 Now they break all its carved work down with hatchet and hammers.And now all the carved work thereof They break down with hatchet and hammers.이제 그들이 성소의 모든 새긴 조각물을 도끼와 망치로 쳐서 부숩니다.
7 They have burned your sanctuary to the ground. They have profaned the dwelling place of your Name.They have set thy sanctuary on fire; They have profaned the dwelling-place of thy name by casting it to the ground.그들이 주의 성소를 불살라 땅바닥까지 무너뜨리고, 주의 이름이 머무는 처소를 더럽혔습니다.
8 They said in their heart, “ We will crush them completely.” They have burned up all the places in the land where God was worshiped.They said in their heart, Let us make havoc of them altogether: They have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.그들이 마음속으로 "저들을 완전히 짓밟자" 하고는, 이 땅에서 하나님을 예배하던 모든 곳을 불태웠습니다.
9 We see no miraculous signs. There is no longer any prophet, neither is there among us anyone who knows how long.We see not our signs: There is no more any prophet; Neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.우리는 이제 어떤 기적의 표징도 보지 못합니다. 더 이상 선지자도 없고, 이 일이 언제까지 이어질지 아는 사람도 우리 가운데 없습니다.
10 How long, God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme your name forever?How long, O God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?하나님, 언제까지 대적이 주를 비방하겠습니까? 원수가 주의 이름을 영원히 모독하겠습니까?
11 Why do you draw back your hand, even your right hand? Take it from your chest and consume them!Why drawest thou back thy hand, even thy right hand? Pluck it out of thy bosom and consume them.어찌하여 주께서 손을, 곧 주의 오른손을 거두시는 것입니까? 주의 품에서 그 손을 꺼내어 그들을 멸하소서.
12 Yet God is my King of old, working salvation throughout the earth.Yet God is my King of old, Working salvation in the midst of the earth.그래도 하나님은 옛적부터 나의 왕이시니, 이 땅 한가운데서 구원을 베푸십니다.
13 You divided the sea by your strength. You broke the heads of the sea monsters in the waters.Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: Thou brakest the heads of the sea-monsters in the waters.주께서 주의 능력으로 바다를 가르시고, 물속에서 바다 괴물들의 머리를 깨뜨리셨습니다.
14 You broke the heads of Leviathan in pieces. You gave him as food to people and desert creatures.Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces; Thou gavest him to be food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.주께서 리워야단의 머리를 산산이 부수시고, 그것을 광야의 백성과 짐승들에게 먹이로 주셨습니다.
15 You opened up spring and stream. You dried up mighty rivers.Thou didst cleave fountain and flood: Thou driedst up mighty rivers.주께서 샘과 시내를 터뜨려 흐르게 하시고, 큰 강들을 마르게 하셨습니다.
16 The day is yours, the night is also yours. You have prepared the light and the sun.The day is thine, the night also is thine: Thou hast prepared the light and the sun.낮도 주의 것이요 밤도 주의 것이니, 주께서 빛과 해를 예비하셨습니다.
17 You have set all the boundaries of the earth. You have made summer and winter.Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: Thou hast made summer and winter.주께서 땅의 모든 경계를 정하시고, 여름과 겨울을 만드셨습니다.
18 Remember this, that the enemy has mocked you, Yahweh. Foolish people have blasphemed your name.Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O Jehovah, And that a foolish people hath blasphemed thy name.여호와여, 이것을 기억하소서. 원수가 주를 조롱하고 어리석은 백성이 주의 이름을 모독하였습니다.
19 Don’t deliver the soul of your dove to wild beasts. Don’t forget the life of your poor forever.Oh deliver not the soul of thy turtle-dove unto the wild beast: Forget not the life of thy poor for ever.주의 산비둘기의 생명을 들짐승에게 넘기지 마소서. 주의 가난한 자들의 생명을 영원히 잊지 마소서.
20 Honor your covenant, for haunts of violence fill the dark places of the earth.Have respect unto the covenant; For the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of violence.주의 언약을 돌아보소서. 이 땅의 어두운 곳들이 폭력의 소굴로 가득합니다.
21 Don’t let the oppressed return ashamed. Let the poor and needy praise your name.Oh let not the oppressed return ashamed: Let the poor and needy praise thy name.억눌린 자들이 부끄러움을 안고 돌아가게 하지 마소서. 가난하고 궁핍한 자들이 주의 이름을 찬양하게 하소서.
22 Arise, God! Plead your own cause. Remember how the foolish man mocks you all day.Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: Remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee all the day.하나님, 일어나소서. 주의 일을 친히 변호하소서. 어리석은 자가 온종일 주를 조롱하는 것을 기억하소서.
23 Don’t forget the voice of your adversaries. The tumult of those who rise up against you ascends continually.Forget not the voice of thine adversaries: The tumult of those that rise up against thee ascendeth continually.주의 대적들의 소리를 잊지 마소서. 주께 맞서 일어나는 자들의 소란이 끊임없이 솟구쳐 올라갑니다.
