1 If it had not been Yahweh who was on our side, let Israel now say,If it had not been Jehovah who was on our side, Let Israel now say,성전에 올라가며 부르는 노래. 다윗의 시. 만일 여호와께서 우리 편이 아니셨더라면, 이제 이스라엘은 이렇게 말하여라.
2 if it had not been Yahweh who was on our side, when men rose up against us,If it had not been Jehovah who was on our side, When men rose up against us;사람들이 우리에게 맞서 일어났을 때에, 만일 여호와께서 우리 편이 아니셨더라면,
3 then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us,Then they had swallowed us up alive, When their wrath was kindled against us:그들은 분노가 우리를 향해 타올랐을 때에 우리를 산 채로 삼켜 버렸을 것이며,
4 then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul.Then the waters had overwhelmed us, The stream had gone over our soul;그때에 물이 우리를 휩쓸고, 시냇물이 우리 영혼 위로 넘쳐흘렀을 것이며,
5 Then the proud waters would have gone over our soul.Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.그때에 사납게 넘실대는 물결이 우리 영혼 위를 덮쳤을 것이다.
6 Blessed be Yahweh, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth.Blessed be Jehovah, Who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.여호와를 찬송하여라. 그분은 우리를 그들의 이빨에 먹잇감으로 내주지 않으셨다.
7 Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowler’s snare. The snare is broken, and we have escaped.Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: The snare is broken, and we are escaped.우리 영혼은 사냥꾼의 덫에서 빠져나온 새처럼 벗어났다. 덫은 끊어지고, 우리는 벗어났다.
8 Our help is in Yahweh’s name, who made heaven and earth.Our help is in the name of Jehovah, Who made heaven and earth.우리의 도움은 하늘과 땅을 지으신 여호와의 이름에 있다.
