1 We have heard with our ears, God; our fathers have told us what work you did in their days, in the days of old.We have heard with our ears, O God, Our fathers have told us, What work thou didst in their days, In the days of old.지휘자를 위한 노래. 고라 자손의 시. 묵상의 시. 하나님, 우리가 우리 귀로 들었고, 우리 조상들이 우리에게 들려주었습니다. 그 옛날, 그들의 시대에 주께서 행하신 일을 말입니다.
2 You drove out the nations with your hand, but you planted them. You afflicted the peoples, but you spread them abroad.Thou didst drive out the nations with thy hand; But them thou didst plant: Thou didst afflict the peoples; But them thou didst spread abroad.주께서 주의 손으로 여러 민족을 쫓아내시고, 우리 조상들을 그 땅에 심으셨습니다. 주께서 뭇 백성을 괴롭게 하시고, 우리 조상들을 널리 퍼지게 하셨습니다.
3 For they didn’t get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favorable to them.For they gat not the land in possession by their own sword, Neither did their own arm save them; But thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, Because thou wast favorable unto them.그들이 자기 칼로 그 땅을 차지한 것이 아니며, 자기 팔이 그들을 구원한 것도 아닙니다. 오직 주의 오른손과 주의 팔과 주의 얼굴 빛이 그렇게 하셨으니, 주께서 그들을 기뻐하셨기 때문입니다.
4 God, you are my King. Command victories for Jacob!Thou art my King, O God: Command deliverance for Jacob.하나님, 주는 나의 왕이십니다. 야곱에게 승리를 명령하소서!
5 Through you, we will push down our adversaries. Through your name, we will tread down those who rise up against us.Through thee will we push down our adversaries: Through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.주를 힘입어 우리가 우리 대적들을 밀어내겠고, 주의 이름으로 우리를 치려고 일어서는 자들을 짓밟겠습니다.
6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither will my sword save me.For I will not trust in my bow, Neither shall my sword save me.나는 내 활을 의지하지 않으며, 내 칼이 나를 구원하지도 못합니다.
7 But you have saved us from our adversaries, and have shamed those who hate us.But thou hast saved us from our adversaries, And hast put them to shame that hate us.그러나 주께서 우리를 대적들에게서 구원하셨고, 우리를 미워하는 자들을 부끄럽게 하셨습니다.
8 In God we have made our boast all day long. We will give thanks to your name forever. Selah.In God have we made our boast all the day long, And we will give thanks unto thy name for ever. [Selah우리가 하루 종일 하나님을 자랑하였으며, 주의 이름에 영원히 감사하겠습니다. 셀라.
9 But now you rejected us, and brought us to dishonor, and don’t go out with our armies.But now thou hast cast us off, and brought us to dishonor, And goest not forth with our hosts.그러나 이제 주께서 우리를 버리시고, 우리를 욕되게 하시며, 우리 군대와 함께 나아가지 않으십니다.
10 You make us turn back from the adversary. Those who hate us take plunder for themselves.Thou makest us to turn back from the adversary; And they that hate us take spoil for themselves.주께서 우리를 대적 앞에서 물러서게 하시니, 우리를 미워하는 자들이 자기들을 위해 약탈합니다.
11 You have made us like sheep for food, and have scattered us among the nations.Thou hast made us like sheep appointed for food, And hast scattered us among the nations.주께서 우리를 잡아먹힐 양처럼 만드시고, 우리를 여러 민족 가운데로 흩으셨습니다.
12 You sell your people for nothing, and have gained nothing from their sale.Thou sellest thy people for nought, And hast not increased thy wealth by their price.주께서 주의 백성을 값없이 파시고, 그들을 팔아 아무 이익도 얻지 못하셨습니다.
13 You make us a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and a derision to those who are around us.Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbors, A scoffing and a derision to them that are round about us.주께서 우리를 우리 이웃에게 비방거리가 되게 하시고, 우리 둘레에 있는 자들에게 조롱과 모욕거리가 되게 하셨습니다.
14 You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.Thou makest us a byword among the nations, A shaking of the head among the peoples.주께서 우리를 여러 민족 가운데 웃음거리가 되게 하시고, 뭇 백성이 머리를 흔드는 대상이 되게 하셨습니다.
15 All day long my dishonor is before me, and shame covers my face,All the day long is my dishonor before me, And the shame of my face hath covered me,하루 종일 내 수치가 내 앞에 있고, 부끄러움이 내 얼굴을 덮었습니다.
16 at the taunt of one who reproaches and verbally abuses, because of the enemy and the avenger.For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth, By reason of the enemy and the avenger.비방하고 욕설하는 자의 소리 때문이며, 원수와 보복하는 자 때문입니다.
17 All this has come on us, yet we haven’t forgotten you. We haven’t been false to your covenant.All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, Neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.이 모든 일이 우리에게 닥쳤으나, 우리는 주를 잊지 않았고, 주의 언약을 어기지도 않았습니다.
18 Our heart has not turned back, neither have our steps strayed from your path,Our heart is not turned back, Neither have our steps declined from thy way,우리 마음이 뒤로 물러서지 않았고, 우리 발걸음이 주의 길에서 벗어나지도 않았습니다.
19 though you have crushed us in the haunt of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.That thou hast sore broken us in the place of jackals, And covered us with the shadow of death.비록 주께서 우리를 승냥이가 사는 곳에서 짓밟으시고, 죽음의 그늘로 우리를 덮으셨을지라도 그러합니다.
20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, or spread out our hands to a strange god,If we have forgotten the name of our God, Or spread forth our hands to a strange god;만일 우리가 우리 하나님의 이름을 잊었거나, 우리 손을 낯선 신에게 펼쳤다면,
21 won’t God search this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart.Will not God search this out? For he knoweth the secrets of the heart.하나님이 이를 살피지 않으시겠습니까? 그분은 마음의 은밀한 것을 아십니다.
22 Yes, for your sake we are killed all day long. We are regarded as sheep for the slaughter.Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.정녕 우리는 주를 위하여 하루 종일 죽임을 당하며, 도살할 양처럼 여김을 받습니다.
23 Wake up! Why do you sleep, Lord? Arise! Don’t reject us forever.Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? Arise, cast us not off for ever.깨어나소서! 주여, 어찌하여 주무십니까? 일어나소서! 우리를 영원히 버리지 마소서.
24 Why do you hide your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?Wherefore hidest thou thy face, And forgettest our affliction and our oppression?어찌하여 주의 얼굴을 숨기시고, 우리의 고난과 압제를 잊으십니까?
25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust. Our body clings to the earth.For our soul is bowed down to the dust: Our body cleaveth unto the earth.우리 영혼이 진토에 엎드렸고, 우리 몸이 땅에 붙었습니다.
26 Rise up to help us. Redeem us for your loving kindness’ sake.Rise up for our help, And redeem us for thy lovingkindness’ sake.일어나 우리를 도우소서. 주의 인자하심을 위하여 우리를 구속하소서.
