2 On the willows in that land, we hung up our harps.Upon the willows in the midst thereof We hanged up our harps.그 가운데 있는 버드나무 위에 우리는 우리의 수금을 걸어 두었다.
3 For there, those who led us captive asked us for songs. Those who tormented us demanded songs of joy: “ Sing us one of the songs of Zion!”For there they that led us captive required of us songs, And they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.거기에서 우리를 사로잡아 끌고 간 자들이 우리에게 노래를 청하고, 우리를 괴롭히던 자들이 즐거운 노래를 요구하며 "시온의 노래 하나를 우리에게 불러 보아라!" 하였기 때문이다.
4 How can we sing Yahweh’s song in a foreign land?How shall we sing Jehovah’s song In a foreign land?우리가 어찌 낯선 땅에서 여호와의 노래를 부를 수 있겠는가?
5 If I forget you, Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill.If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, Let my right hand forget her skill.예루살렘아, 내가 너를 잊는다면 내 오른손이 그 재주를 잊게 하라.
6 Let my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth if I don’t remember you, if I don’t prefer Jerusalem above my chief joy.Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth, If I remember thee not; If I prefer not Jerusalem Above my chief joy.내가 너를 기억하지 않는다면, 내가 예루살렘을 나의 가장 큰 기쁨보다 더 소중히 여기지 않는다면, 내 혀가 내 입천장에 붙게 하라.

9 Happy shall he be, who takes and dashes your little ones against the rock.Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones Against the rock.네 어린아이들을 붙잡아 바위에 메어치는 자는 복이 있으리라.
