1 I said, “I will watch my ways, so that I don’t sin with my tongue. 2 I was mute with silence. I held my peace, even from good. My sorrow was stirred.I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; And my sorrow was stirred.나는 잠잠하여 말이 없었고, 좋은 말까지도 삼갔다. 그러자 내 슬픔이 더욱 깊어졌다.
3 My heart was hot within me. While I meditated, the fire burned. I spoke with my tongue:My heart was hot within me; While I was musing the fire burned; Then spake I with my tongue:내 마음이 속에서 뜨거워졌고, 묵상하는 동안 불이 타올라 마침내 내가 혀로 말하였다.
4 “ Yahweh, show me my end, what is the measure of my days. Let me know how frail I am.Jehovah, make me to know mine end, And the measure of my days, what it is; Let me know how frail I am."여호와여, 나의 끝이 어떠한지, 내 날이 얼마나 되는지 알려 주십시오. 내가 얼마나 연약한지 깨닫게 해 주십시오.
5 Behold, you have made my days hand widths. My lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely every man stands as a breath.” Selah.Behold, thou hast made my days as handbreadths; And my life-time is as nothing before thee: Surely every man at his best estate is altogether vanity. [Selah보십시오, 주께서 내 날을 한 뼘 길이로 지으셨으니, 내 한평생은 주 앞에서 아무것도 아닙니다. 참으로 모든 사람은 그가 굳게 서 있을 때라도 한 번의 숨결에 지나지 않습니다." (셀라)
6 “ Surely every man walks like a shadow. Surely they busy themselves in vain. He heaps up, and doesn’t know who shall gather.Surely every man walketh in a vain show; Surely they are disquieted in vain: He heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them."참으로 사람은 그림자처럼 다니며, 헛되이 분주할 뿐입니다. 재물을 쌓아도 누가 거두어 갈지 알지 못합니다.
7 Now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in you.And now, Lord, what wait I for? My hope is in thee.그러니 주여, 이제 내가 무엇을 바라겠습니까? 내 소망은 오직 주께 있습니다.
8 Deliver me from all my transgressions. Don’t make me the reproach of the foolish.Deliver me from all my transgressions: Make me not the reproach of the foolish.내 모든 허물에서 나를 건져 주시고, 어리석은 자의 조롱거리가 되지 않게 해 주십시오.
9 I was mute. I didn’t open my mouth, because you did it.I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; Because thou didst it.내가 잠잠하여 입을 열지 않은 것은, 주께서 이 일을 행하셨기 때문입니다.
10 Remove your scourge away from me. I am overcome by the blow of your hand.Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thy hand.주의 채찍을 내게서 거두어 주십시오. 나는 주의 손에 맞아 거의 쓰러질 지경입니다.
11 When you rebuke and correct man for iniquity, you consume his wealth like a moth. Surely every man is but a breath.” Selah.When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, Thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: Surely every man is vanity. [Selah주께서 죄악을 꾸짖어 사람을 징계하실 때, 그가 아끼던 것을 좀먹듯이 삭게 하시니, 참으로 모든 사람은 한 번의 숨결에 지나지 않습니다." (셀라)
12 “Hear my prayer, Yahweh, and give ear to my cry. Don’t be silent at my tears. For I am a stranger with you, a foreigner, as all my fathers were.Hear my prayer, O Jehovah, and give ear unto my cry; Hold not thy peace at my tears: For I am a stranger with thee, A sojourner, as all my fathers were."여호와여, 내 기도를 들으시고 내 부르짖음에 귀를 기울여 주십시오. 내 눈물을 보시고 잠잠히 계시지 마십시오. 나는 주와 함께 있는 나그네요, 내 모든 조상이 그러하였듯 떠도는 이방인입니다.
13 Oh spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go away and exist no more.”Oh spare me, that I may recover strength, Before I go hence, and be no more.내가 떠나가서 다시는 존재하지 않게 되기 전에, 내가 다시 기운을 차릴 수 있도록 나를 살려 주십시오."
