1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity. There is no one who does good.The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity; There is none that doeth good.성가대 지휘자를 위하여. "마할랏"이라는 곡조에 맞추어. 다윗의 묵상시. 어리석은 자는 마음속으로 "하나님은 없다"라고 말한다. 그들은 부패하여 가증한 죄악을 저질렀으니, 선을 행하는 자가 하나도 없다.
2 God looks down from heaven on the children of men, to see if there are any who understood, who seek after God.God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there were any that did understand, That did seek after God.하나님께서 하늘에서 사람들을 내려다보시며, 깨닫는 자가 있는지, 하나님을 찾는 자가 있는지 살피셨다.
3 Every one of them has gone back. They have become filthy together. There is no one who does good, no, not one.Every one of them is gone back; they are together become filthy; There is none that doeth good, no, not one.그들 모두가 등을 돌렸고, 다 함께 더러워졌으니, 선을 행하는 자가 없다. 정말 단 한 사람도 없다.
4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and don’t call on God?Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And call not upon God?죄악을 일삼는 자들은 아무것도 깨닫지 못하는가? 그들은 마치 빵을 먹듯이 내 백성을 삼키면서도, 하나님을 부르지 않는다.
5 There they were in great fear, where no fear was, for God has scattered the bones of him who encamps against you. You have put them to shame, because God has rejected them.There were they in great fear, where no fear was; For God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: Thou hast put them to shame, because God hath rejected them.두려워할 까닭이 없는 곳에서도 그들은 크게 두려워하였다. 너를 대적하여 진을 친 자의 뼈를 하나님께서 흩으셨기 때문이다. 하나님께서 그들을 버리셨으므로, 네가 그들을 부끄럽게 하였다.
6 Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When God brings back his people from captivity, then Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Then shall Jacob rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.아, 이스라엘의 구원이 시온에서 나오기를 원하노라! 하나님께서 사로잡힌 자기 백성을 다시 돌이키실 때에, 야곱이 즐거워하고 이스라엘이 기뻐하리라.
