1 Don’t fret because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness.Fret not thyself because of evil-doers, Neither be thou envious against them that work unrighteousness.다윗의 시. 악을 행하는 자들 때문에 속을 태우지 말고, 불의를 일삼는 자들을 시기하지 말라.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither like the green herb.For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb.그들은 머지않아 풀처럼 베어지고, 푸른 잎사귀처럼 시들 것이다.
3 Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.Trust in Jehovah, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on his faithfulness.여호와를 신뢰하고 선을 행하라. 그 땅에 거하며 안전한 꼴밭을 누리라.
4 Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart.Delight thyself also in Jehovah; And he will give thee the desires of thy heart.또한 여호와를 기뻐하라. 그리하면 그분께서 네 마음의 소원을 이루어 주시리라.
5 Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this:Commit thy way unto Jehovah; Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass.네 길을 여호와께 맡기라. 그분을 신뢰하라. 그리하면 그분께서 이루어 주시리니,
6 he will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun.And he will make thy righteousness to go forth as the light, And thy justice as the noonday.네 의를 빛처럼 드러내시고, 네 공의를 한낮의 해처럼 빛나게 하시리라.
7 Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.Rest in Jehovah, and wait patiently for him: Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, Because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.여호와 안에서 쉬며, 그분을 잠잠히 기다리라. 자기 길에서 형통한 자, 악한 음모를 이루는 사람 때문에 속을 태우지 말라.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don’t fret; it leads only to evildoing.Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: Fret not thyself, it tendeth only to evil-doing.분노를 그치고 진노를 버리라. 속을 태우지 말라. 그것은 오직 악을 행하게 할 뿐이다.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for Yahweh shall inherit the land.For evil-doers shall be cut off; But those that wait for Jehovah, they shall inherit the land.악을 행하는 자들은 끊어지겠으나, 여호와를 기다리는 자들은 그 땅을 차지할 것이다.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more. Yes, though you look for his place, he isn’t there.For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: Yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and he shall not be.조금만 있으면 악인은 더 이상 없으리니, 네가 그가 있던 자리를 살펴보아도 그는 거기 없으리라.
11 But the humble shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.But the meek shall inherit the land, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.그러나 겸손한 자들은 그 땅을 차지하고, 풍성한 화평을 누리며 기뻐하리라.
12 The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth.The wicked plotteth against the just, And gnasheth upon him with his teeth.악인은 의인을 음모하며, 그를 향해 이를 갈지만,
13 The Lord will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming.The Lord will laugh at him; For he seeth that his day is coming.주께서는 그를 비웃으시리니, 그의 날이 다가옴을 보고 계시기 때문이다.
14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to kill those who are upright on the path.The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, To cast down the poor and needy, To slay such as are upright in the way.악인들이 칼을 빼고 활을 당겨, 가난하고 궁핍한 자를 쓰러뜨리고 바른 길을 걷는 자들을 죽이려 하지만,
15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart. Their bows shall be broken.Their sword shall enter into their own heart, And their bows shall be broken.그들의 칼은 도리어 자기 심장을 찌를 것이며, 그들의 활은 부러질 것이다.
16 Better is a little that the righteous has, than the abundance of many wicked.Better is a little that the righteous hath Than the abundance of many wicked.의인이 가진 적은 것이 많은 악인의 풍요보다 낫다.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but Yahweh upholds the righteous.For the arms of the wicked shall be broken; But Jehovah upholdeth the righteous.악인들의 팔은 부러지겠으나, 여호와께서는 의인을 붙드시기 때문이다.
18 Yahweh knows the days of the perfect. Their inheritance shall be forever.Jehovah knoweth the days of the perfect; And their inheritance shall be for ever.여호와께서는 온전한 자들의 날을 아시니, 그들의 기업은 영원하리라.
19 They shall not be disappointed in the time of evil. In the days of famine they shall be satisfied.They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil; And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.그들은 재앙의 때에 부끄러움을 당하지 않고, 기근의 날에도 배부르리라.
20 But the wicked shall perish. The enemies of Yahweh shall be like the beauty of the fields. They will vanish — vanish like smoke.But the wicked shall perish, And the enemies of Jehovah shall be as the fat of lambs: They shall consume; in smoke shall they consume away.그러나 악인들은 멸망하리라. 여호와의 원수들은 들의 영화로움 같아서, 연기처럼 사라지고 또 사라지리라.
21 The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously.The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again; But the righteous dealeth graciously, and giveth.악인은 꾸고도 갚지 않지만, 의인은 넉넉히 베푼다.
22 For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land. Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.For such as are blessed of him shall inherit the land; And they that are cursed of him shall be cut off.그분께 복 받은 자들은 그 땅을 차지하겠으나, 그분께 저주받은 자들은 끊어지리라.
23 A man’s steps are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way.A man’s goings are established of Jehovah; And he delighteth in his way.사람의 걸음은 여호와께서 세우시며, 그분은 그의 길을 기뻐하신다.
24 Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for Yahweh holds him up with his hand.Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For Jehovah upholdeth him with his hand.그가 비틀거려도 넘어지지 않으리니, 여호와께서 그의 손을 붙드시기 때문이다.
25 I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread.I have been young, and now am old; Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his seed begging bread.내가 어렸을 때부터 늙기까지, 의인이 버림받거나 그 자손이 빵을 구걸하는 것을 보지 못하였다.
26 All day long he deals graciously, and lends. His offspring is blessed.All the day long he dealeth graciously, and lendeth; And his seed is blessed.그는 온종일 은혜롭게 베풀고 꾸어 주니, 그의 자손이 복을 받는다.
27 Depart from evil, and do good. Live securely forever.Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell for evermore.악에서 떠나 선을 행하라. 그리하면 영원히 평안히 살리라.
28 For Yahweh loves justice, and doesn’t forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.For Jehovah loveth justice, And forsaketh not his saints; They are preserved for ever: But the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.여호와께서는 공의를 사랑하시고 그분의 성도를 버리지 않으시니, 그들은 영원히 보호받으리라. 그러나 악인의 자손은 끊어지리라.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and live in it forever.The righteous shall inherit the land, And dwell therein for ever.의인은 그 땅을 차지하여 거기서 영원히 살리라.
30 The mouth of the righteous talks of wisdom. His tongue speaks justice.The mouth of the righteous talketh of wisdom, And his tongue speaketh justice.의인의 입은 지혜를 말하고, 그의 혀는 공의를 이야기한다.
31 The law of his God is in his heart. None of his steps shall slide.The law of his God is in his heart; None of his steps shall slide.그의 하나님의 율법이 그의 마음에 있으니, 그의 걸음은 미끄러지지 않으리라.
32 The wicked watch the righteous, and seek to kill him.The wicked watcheth the righteous, And seeketh to slay him.악인은 의인을 엿보며 그를 죽이려 하지만,
33 Yahweh will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.Jehovah will not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him when he is judged.여호와께서는 그를 악인의 손에 버려두지 않으시고, 그가 심판받을 때 정죄당하게 하지 않으시리라.
34 Wait for Yahweh, and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land. When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.Wait for Jehovah, and keep his way, And he will exalt thee to inherit the land: When the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.여호와를 기다리며 그분의 길을 지키라. 그리하면 그분께서 너를 높이사 그 땅을 차지하게 하시리니, 악인이 끊어질 때 네가 그것을 보리라.
35 I have seen the wicked in great power, spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.I have seen the wicked in great power, And spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.내가 악인이 큰 권세를 떨치며, 자기 땅에서 무성한 나무처럼 뻗어 가는 것을 보았으나,
36 But he passed away, and behold, he was not. Yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.But one passed by, and, lo, he was not: Yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.그가 사라져 없어졌으니, 보라, 그가 없더라. 내가 그를 찾았으나 끝내 찾을 수 없었다.
37 Mark the perfect man, and see the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace.Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright; For there is a happy end to the man of peace.온전한 자를 눈여겨보고 정직한 자를 살펴보라. 화평한 사람에게는 미래가 있다.
38 As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together. The future of the wicked shall be cut off.As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together: The end of the wicked shall be cut off.그러나 범죄자들은 다 함께 멸망하리니, 악인의 미래는 끊어지리라.
39 But the salvation of the righteous is from Yahweh. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.But the salvation of the righteous is of Jehovah: He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.의인의 구원은 여호와께로부터 오나니, 그분은 환난 때에 그들의 견고한 요새시라.
40 Yahweh helps them and rescues them. He rescues them from the wicked and saves them, because they have taken refuge in him.And Jehovah helpeth them, and rescueth them: He rescueth them from the wicked, and saveth them, Because they have taken refuge in him.여호와께서 그들을 도우시고 건지시며, 악인에게서 그들을 건져 구원하시리니, 그들이 그분께 피하였기 때문이다.
