1 Praise Yahweh, my soul! All that is within me, praise his holy name!Bless Jehovah, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless his holy name.다윗의 시. 내 영혼아, 여호와를 찬양하라! 내 속에 있는 모든 것아, 그분의 거룩한 이름을 찬양하라!
2 Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits,Bless Jehovah, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits:내 영혼아, 여호와를 찬양하고 그분의 모든 은택을 잊지 말라.
3 who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases,Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases;그분은 네 모든 죄를 용서하시고 네 모든 병을 고치시며,
4 who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies,Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;네 생명을 멸망에서 건져 내시고 인자하심과 따뜻한 긍휼로 네게 관을 씌우시며,
5 who satisfies your desire with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.Who satisfieth thy desire with good things, So that thy youth is renewed like the eagle.좋은 것으로 네 소원을 만족시키시니, 네 젊음이 독수리처럼 새로워진다.
6 Yahweh executes righteous acts, and justice for all who are oppressed.Jehovah executeth righteous acts, And judgments for all that are oppressed.여호와께서는 의로운 일을 행하시고 억눌린 모든 이를 위해 공의를 베푸신다.
7 He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the children of Israel.He made known his ways unto Moses, His doings unto the children of Israel.그분은 자신의 길을 모세에게, 자신의 행하신 일을 이스라엘 자손에게 알리셨다.
8 Yahweh is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness.Jehovah is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness.여호와는 긍휼이 많으시고 은혜로우시며, 노하기를 더디 하시고 인자하심이 풍성하시다.
9 He will not always accuse; neither will he stay angry forever.He will not always chide; Neither will he keep his anger for ever.그분은 늘 책망하지 않으시고, 영원히 노여움을 품지도 않으신다.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor repaid us for our iniquities.He hath not dealt with us after our sins, Nor rewarded us after our iniquities.그분은 우리 죄에 따라 우리를 다루지 않으셨고, 우리 잘못에 따라 우리에게 갚지도 않으셨다.
11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his loving kindness toward those who fear him.For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is his lovingkindness toward them that fear him.하늘이 땅 위에 높은 것처럼, 그분을 경외하는 이들을 향한 그분의 인자하심도 그렇게 크다.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.As far as the east is from the west, So far hath he removed our transgressions from us.동이 서에서 먼 것처럼, 그분은 우리의 허물을 우리에게서 그만큼 멀리 옮기셨다.
13 Like a father has compassion on his children, so Yahweh has compassion on those who fear him.Like as a father pitieth his children, So Jehovah pitieth them that fear him.아버지가 자기 자녀를 불쌍히 여기는 것처럼, 여호와께서도 자신을 경외하는 이들을 불쌍히 여기신다.
14 For he knows how we are made. He remembers that we are dust.For he knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust.그분은 우리가 어떻게 지어졌는지 아시고, 우리가 티끌임을 기억하신다.
15 As for man, his days are like grass. As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.As for man, his days are as grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.사람으로 말하면, 그의 날은 풀과 같다. 들의 꽃처럼 피어난다.
16 For the wind passes over it, and it is gone. Its place remembers it no more.For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; And the place thereof shall know it no more.바람이 그 위로 지나가면 그것은 사라지고, 그 자리도 다시는 그것을 기억하지 못한다.
17 But Yahweh’s loving kindness is from everlasting to everlasting with those who fear him, his righteousness to children’s children,But the lovingkindness of Jehovah is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, And his righteousness unto children’s children;그러나 여호와의 인자하심은 그분을 경외하는 이들에게 영원부터 영원까지 있으며, 그분의 의는 자손의 자손에게 이른다.
18 to those who keep his covenant, to those who remember to obey his precepts.To such as keep his covenant, And to those that remember his precepts to do them.곧 그분의 언약을 지키고 그분의 교훈을 기억하여 행하는 이들에게 그러하다.
19 Yahweh has established his throne in the heavens. His kingdom rules over all.Jehovah hath established his throne in the heavens; And his kingdom ruleth over all.여호와께서는 하늘에 자신의 보좌를 세우셨고, 그분의 나라가 만유를 다스리신다.
20 Praise Yahweh, you angels of his, who are mighty in strength, who fulfill his word, obeying the voice of his word.Bless Jehovah, ye his angels, That are mighty in strength, that fulfil his word, Hearkening unto the voice of his word.그분의 말씀을 이루며 그 말씀의 음성에 순종하는, 힘이 강한 그분의 천사들아, 여호와를 찬양하라.
21 Praise Yahweh, all you armies of his, you servants of his, who do his pleasure.Bless Jehovah, all ye his hosts, Ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.그분의 뜻을 행하는 그분의 모든 군대야, 그분의 종들아, 여호와를 찬양하라.
22 Praise Yahweh, all you works of his, in all places of his dominion. Praise Yahweh, my soul!Bless Jehovah, all ye his works, In all places of his dominion: Bless Jehovah, O my soul.그분의 다스리시는 모든 곳에 있는 그분의 모든 피조물아, 여호와를 찬양하라. 내 영혼아, 여호와를 찬양하라!
