1 In the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,열한째 해 셋째 달 첫째 날에 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 이르셨다.
2 “ Son of man, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt and his multitude: ‘ Whom are you like in your greatness?Son of man, say unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude: Whom art thou like in thy greatness?사람아, 이집트 왕 바로와 그의 무리에게 말하여라. 너의 위대함을 누구에 견주겠느냐?
3 Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with beautiful branches, and with a forest-like shade, of high stature; and its top was among the thick boughs.Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a forest-like shade, and of high stature; and its top was among the thick boughs.보아라, 앗수르는 레바논의 백향목과 같아서 아름다운 가지와 숲처럼 우거진 그늘과 높은 키를 가졌으며, 그 꼭대기는 빽빽한 가지들 사이로 솟아 있었다.

5 Therefore its stature was exalted above all the trees of the field; and its boughs were multiplied. 6 All the birds of the sky made their nests in its boughs. Under its branches, all the animals of the field gave birth to their young. All great nations lived under its shadow.All the birds of the heavens made their nests in its boughs; and under its branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young; and under its shadow dwelt all great nations.하늘의 모든 새가 그 큰 가지에 둥지를 틀었고, 그 가지 아래에서 들의 모든 짐승이 새끼를 낳았으며, 큰 나라들이 모두 그 그늘 아래 살았다.
7 Thus it was beautiful in its greatness, in the length of its branches; for its root was by many waters.Thus was it fair in its greatness, in the length of its branches; for its root was by many waters.이처럼 그것은 위대함에서, 가지의 길이에서 아름다웠으니, 그 뿌리가 많은 물 곁에 있었기 때문이다.
8 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide it. The cypress trees were not like its branches. The pine trees were not like its branches; nor was any tree in the garden of God like it in its beauty.The cedars in the garden of God could not hide it; the fir-trees were not like its boughs, and the plane-trees were not as its branches; nor was any tree in the garden of God like unto it in its beauty.하나님의 동산에 있는 백향목들도 그것을 가릴 수 없었고, 잣나무들도 그 큰 가지만 못하였으며, 단풍나무들도 그 잔가지만 못하였고, 하나님의 동산에 있는 어떤 나무도 그 아름다움에 견줄 수 없었다.

10 “ Therefore thus said the Lord Yahweh: ‘ Because he is exalted in stature, and he has set his top among the thick branches, and his heart is lifted up in his height,Therefore thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because thou art exalted in stature, and he hath set his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;그러므로 주 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨다. 네가 키가 높이 솟아 그 꼭대기를 빽빽한 가지들 사이로 두고 그 마음이 높이로 교만하였으니,
11 I will deliver him into the hand of the mighty one of the nations. He will surely deal with him. I have driven him out for his wickedness.I will even deliver him into the hand of the mighty one of the nations; he shall surely deal with him; I have driven him out for his wickedness.내가 그를 민족들 가운데 강한 자의 손에 넘겨주리라. 그가 반드시 그를 다루리니, 내가 그의 악함으로 인하여 그를 쫓아내었다.
12 Foreigners, the tyrants of the nations, have cut him off and have left him. His branches have fallen on the mountains and in all the valleys, and his boughs are broken by all the watercourses of the land. All the peoples of the earth have gone down from his shadow and have left him.And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the watercourses of the land; and all the peoples of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.민족들 가운데 가장 포악한 이방 사람들이 그를 베어 버리고 내버렸다. 그 가지들이 산 위와 모든 골짜기에 떨어지고, 그 큰 가지들이 그 땅의 모든 시냇가에서 꺾였으며, 땅의 모든 백성이 그 그늘에서 내려가 그를 떠나 버렸다.
13 All the birds of the sky will dwell on his ruin, and all the animals of the field will be on his branches,Upon his ruin all the birds of the heavens shall dwell, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches;그 무너진 자리 위에 하늘의 모든 새가 깃들고, 그 가지 위에 들의 모든 짐승이 머물리니,
14 to the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves in their stature, and don’t set their top among the thick boughs. Their mighty ones don’t stand up on their height, even all who drink water; for they are all delivered to death, to the lower parts of the earth, among the children of men, with those who go down to the pit.’to the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves in their stature, neither set their top among the thick boughs, nor that their mighty ones stand up in their height, even all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.이는 물 곁의 어떤 나무도 그 키로 교만하지 못하게 하고, 그 꼭대기를 빽빽한 가지들 사이로 두지 못하게 하며, 물을 마시는 그 어떤 강한 것도 그 높이로 우뚝 서지 못하게 하려는 것이다. 그들은 모두 죽음에 넘겨져 땅 아래 깊은 곳으로, 구덩이로 내려가는 사람들과 함께 사람의 자손들 가운데로 가게 되었다.
15 “ The Lord Yahweh says: ‘ In the day when he went down to Sheol, I caused a mourning. I covered the deep for him, and I restrained its rivers. The great waters were stopped. I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day when he went down to Sheol I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the rivers thereof; and the great waters were stayed; and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.주 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨다. 그가 스올로 내려가던 날에 내가 슬픔이 일게 하였다. 내가 그를 위하여 깊은 물을 덮고 그 강들을 막아 큰 물을 그치게 하였으며, 레바논으로 하여금 그를 위하여 애곡하게 하니 들의 모든 나무가 그로 인하여 시들었다.
16 I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to Sheol with those who descend into the pit. 17 They also went down into Sheol with him to those who are slain by the sword; yes, those who were his arm, who lived under his shadow in the middle of the nations.They also went down into Sheol with him unto them that are slain by the sword; yea, they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the nations.그들도 그와 함께 스올로 내려가 칼에 죽임을 당한 자들에게로 갔으니, 곧 그의 팔이 되어 민족들 가운데 그 그늘 아래 살던 자들이었다.
18 “‘ To whom are you thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? Yet you will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the lower parts of the earth. You will lie in the middle of the uncircumcised, with those who are slain by the sword. “‘ This is Pharaoh and all his multitude,’ says the Lord Yahweh.”To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, with them that are slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord Jehovah.에덴의 나무들 가운데 네가 이처럼 영광과 위대함에서 누구와 같으냐? 그러나 너도 에덴의 나무들과 함께 땅 아래 깊은 곳으로 끌려 내려가, 칼에 죽임을 당한 자들과 함께 할례받지 못한 자들 가운데 누우리라. 이가 바로 바로와 그의 모든 무리다. 주 여호와의 말씀이다.
