1 “Moreover, take up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,Moreover, take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,너는 이스라엘의 통치자들을 두고 애가를 지어 부르라.
2 and say, ‘ What was your mother? A lioness. She couched among lions, in the middle of the young lions she nourished her cubs.and say, What was thy mother? A lioness: she couched among lions, in the midst of the young lions she nourished her whelps.이렇게 말하라. 네 어머니는 무엇이었느냐? 한 마리 암사자였다. 그가 사자들 가운데 엎드려 어린 사자들 사이에서 자기 새끼들을 길렀다.
3 She brought up one of her cubs. He became a young lion. He learned to catch the prey. He devoured men.And she brought up one of her whelps: he became a young lion, and he learned to catch the prey; he devoured men.그가 자기 새끼 하나를 길러 내니 그가 젊은 사자가 되어 먹이 잡는 법을 익혔고 사람을 삼켰다.

10 “‘ Your mother was like a vine in your blood, planted by the waters. It was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.Thy mother was like a vine, in thy blood, planted by the waters: it was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.네 어머니는 네 핏줄 가운데서 물가에 심긴 포도나무 같았으니 물이 많으므로 열매가 풍성하고 가지가 무성하였다.
11 It had strong branches for the scepters of those who ruled. Their stature was exalted among the thick boughs. They were seen in their height with the multitude of their branches.And it had strong rods for the sceptres of them that bare rule, and their stature was exalted among the thick boughs, and they were seen in their height with the multitude of their branches.그 나무에는 다스리는 자들의 규로 쓸 만한 튼튼한 가지들이 있었고 그 키는 무성한 가지들 사이에서 높이 솟았으며 그 많은 가지와 더불어 높이 드러나 보였다.
12 But it was plucked up in fury. It was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up its fruit. Its strong branches were broken off and withered. 14 Fire has gone out of its branches. This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.불이 그 가지의 줄기에서 나와 그 열매를 삼켜 버렸으니 그 안에 다스리는 규로 쓸 만한 튼튼한 가지가 하나도 남지 않았다. 이것이 애가이니 애가로 불릴 것이다.
