1 Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 이르셨다.
2 “ Son of man, what is the vine tree more than any tree, the vine branch which is among the trees of the forest?Son of man, what is the vine-tree more than any tree, the vine-branch which is among the trees of the forest?사람아, 포도나무가 다른 어떤 나무보다 나을 것이 무엇이냐? 숲속 나무들 사이에 있는 그 포도나무 가지가 무엇이냐?
3 Will wood be taken of it to make anything? Will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel on it?Shall wood be taken thereof to make any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?그것으로 무슨 물건을 만들 재목을 얻을 수 있겠느냐? 또는 무엇을 걸어 둘 못 하나라도 사람이 그것으로 만들 수 있겠느냐?
4 Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire has devoured both its ends, and the middle of it is burned. Is it profitable for any work?Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire hath devoured both the ends of it, and the midst of it is burned: is it profitable for any work?보아라, 그것은 땔감으로 불에 던져지고, 불이 그 양쪽 끝을 다 태워 버리며 그 가운데까지 타 버린다. 그러니 무슨 물건을 만드는 데 쓸모가 있겠느냐?
5 Behold, when it was whole, it was suitable for no work. How much less, when the fire has devoured it, and it has been burned, will it yet be suitable for any work?”Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less, when the fire hath devoured it, and it is burned, shall it yet be meet for any work!보아라, 온전했을 때에도 아무 물건을 만드는 데 쓸모가 없었거늘, 하물며 불이 그것을 태워 버려 다 탔으니 어찌 무슨 물건을 만드는 데 쓸모가 있겠느냐!
6 Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “ As the vine wood among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so I will give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: As the vine-tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.그러므로 주 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. 숲속 나무들 사이의 포도나무를 내가 땔감으로 불에 내주었듯이, 예루살렘 주민들도 내가 그렇게 내줄 것이다.
7 I will set my face against them. They will go out from the fire, but the fire will still devour them. Then you will know that I am Yahweh, when I set my face against them.And I will set my face against them; they shall go forth from the fire, but the fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah, when I set my face against them.내가 그들을 향하여 얼굴을 돌이키겠다. 그들이 한 불에서 나오겠으나 또 다른 불이 그들을 삼킬 것이다. 내가 그들을 향하여 얼굴을 돌이킬 때에, 너희가 내가 여호와인 줄 알게 될 것이다.
8 I will make the land desolate, because they have acted unfaithfully,” says the Lord Yahweh.And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, saith the Lord Jehovah.그들이 죄를 범하였으므로 내가 그 땅을 황폐하게 만들겠다. 주 여호와의 말씀이다.
