17. 내가 다가올 악으로부터 (문자적으로 "어둠의 얼굴 앞에서", 사 57:1) 죽음으로 옮겨지지 않았기 때문이다. 엘리바스의 말을 암시한다 (사 57:1 이하), "어둠" 즉 재난. 끊기다 — 오히려 아랍어 의미로 침묵의 땅으로 옮겨지다. 즉 내 슬픈 탄식이 죽음으로 멈춰진다 [움베라이트]. 두 번째 절의 "어둠"은 첫 번째 절과 같은 히브리어가 아니라 "구름", "어두움"이다. 그분이 "구름(악)을 내 얼굴에서 덮는" 대신 그분이 나를 그것으로 덮으신다 (사 57:1 이하).
