1 “ Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.너희 하나님께서 말씀하신다. "위로하여라, 내 백성을 위로하여라."
2 “ Speak comfortably to Jerusalem, and call out to her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received of Yahweh’s hand double for all her sins.”Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem; and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she hath received of Jehovah’s hand double for all her sins."예루살렘에게 따뜻하게 말하고, 그 고된 복무가 끝났으며 그 죄악이 용서받았고, 모든 죄에 대하여 여호와의 손에서 갑절의 보응을 받았다고 외쳐 알려라."
3 The voice of one who calls out, “ Prepare the way of Yahweh in the wilderness! Make a level highway in the desert for our God.The voice of one that crieth, Prepare ye in the wilderness the way of Jehovah; make level in the desert a highway for our God.외치는 자의 목소리가 들린다. "광야에서 여호와의 길을 예비하여라! 사막에 우리 하나님을 위한 평탄한 대로를 곧게 내어라.
4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low. The uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain.Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain:모든 골짜기는 돋우어지고 모든 산과 언덕은 낮아질 것이다. 울퉁불퉁한 곳은 평평해지고 험한 곳은 평지가 될 것이다.
5 Yahweh’s glory shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it.”and the glory of Jehovah shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken it.여호와의 영광이 나타나고 모든 육체가 다 함께 그것을 보게 될 것이다. 이는 여호와의 입이 친히 말씀하셨기 때문이다."
6 The voice of one saying, “ Cry out!” One said, “ What shall I cry?” “ All flesh is like grass, and all its glory is like the flower of the field.The voice of one saying, Cry. And one said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field.한 목소리가 "외치라!" 하니, 한 사람이 "내가 무엇을 외치리이까?" 하고 묻는다. "모든 육체는 풀과 같고 그 모든 영화는 들의 꽃과 같다.
7 The grass withers, the flower fades, because Yahweh’s breath blows on it. Surely the people are like grass.The grass withereth, the flower fadeth, because the breath of Jehovah bloweth upon it; surely the people is grass.여호와의 입김이 그 위에 불면 풀은 마르고 꽃은 시든다. 참으로 이 백성은 풀과 같다.
8 The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God stands forever.”The grass withereth, the flower fadeth; but the word of our God shall stand forever.풀은 마르고 꽃은 시들지만, 우리 하나님의 말씀은 영원히 서 있다."
9 You who tell good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who tell good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength! Lift it up! Don’t be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah, “ Behold, your God!”O thou that tellest good tidings to Zion, get thee up on a high mountain; O thou that tellest good tidings to Jerusalem, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold, your God!시온에게 좋은 소식을 전하는 자야, 높은 산에 올라가라. 예루살렘에게 좋은 소식을 전하는 자야, 힘껏 네 목소리를 높여라. 높이 들어라. 두려워하지 마라. 유다의 성읍들에게 "너희 하나님을 보라!" 하고 말하여라.
10 Behold, the Lord Yahweh will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him. Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.Behold, the Lord Jehovah will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him: Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.보라, 주 여호와께서 능하신 분으로 오시며, 그분의 팔이 그분을 위하여 다스릴 것이다. 보라, 그분의 상급이 그분과 함께 있고, 그분의 보응이 그분 앞에 있다.
11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom. 12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and marked off the sky with his span, and calculated the dust of the earth in a measuring basket, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?누가 손바닥으로 바닷물을 헤아렸으며, 뼘으로 하늘을 재었으며, 땅의 티끌을 되에 담아 보았으며, 산들을 저울로 달고 언덕들을 저울추로 달아 보았느냐?
13 Who has directed Yahweh’s Spirit, or has taught him as his counselor?Who hath directed the Spirit of Jehovah, or being his counsellor hath taught him?누가 여호와의 영을 지시하였으며, 누가 그분의 모사가 되어 그분을 가르쳤느냐?
14 Who did he take counsel with, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding?With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed to him the way of understanding?그분께서 누구와 의논하셨으며, 누가 그분을 깨우쳐 공의의 길로 가르쳤으며, 누가 그분께 지식을 가르치고 명철의 길을 보여 드렸느냐?
15 Behold, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded as a speck of dust on a balance. Behold, he lifts up the islands like a very little thing.Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are accounted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.보라, 뭇 나라는 물통의 한 방울 같고, 저울 위의 작은 티끌처럼 여겨진다. 보라, 그분은 섬들을 지극히 작은 것처럼 들어 올리신다.
16 Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor its animals sufficient for a burnt offering.And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt-offering.레바논의 나무로도 제단 불을 피우기에 부족하고, 그 짐승들도 번제물로 드리기에 부족하다.
17 All the nations are like nothing before him. They are regarded by him as less than nothing, and vanity.All the nations are as nothing before him; they are accounted by him as less than nothing, and vanity.모든 나라가 그분 앞에서는 아무것도 아닌 것 같다. 그분께는 그것들이 없는 것보다 못하고 헛된 것으로 여겨진다.
18 To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to him?To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?그러니 너희가 하나님을 누구에게 비기겠느냐? 어떤 형상으로 그분을 견주겠느냐?
19 A workman has cast an image, and the goldsmith overlays it with gold, and casts silver chains for it.The image, a workman hath cast it, and the goldsmith overlayeth it with gold, and casteth for it silver chains.장인이 우상을 부어 만들고, 금세공인이 그것을 금으로 입히며, 은 사슬을 부어 만들어 단다.
20 He who is too impoverished for such an offering chooses a tree that will not rot. He seeks a skillful workman to set up a carved image for him that will not be moved.He that is too impoverished for such an oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a skilful workman to set up a graven image, that shall not be moved.그런 예물을 드리기에도 너무 가난한 자는 썩지 않을 나무를 골라, 흔들리지 않을 새긴 우상을 세워 줄 솜씨 있는 장인을 찾는다.
21 Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? Haven’t you been told from the beginning? Haven’t you understood from the foundations of the earth?Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?너희가 알지 못하였느냐? 듣지 못하였느냐? 처음부터 너희에게 일러 주지 않았느냐? 땅의 기초가 놓인 때부터 깨닫지 못하였느냐?
22 It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in,It is he that sitteth above the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in;그분은 땅 위 궁창에 앉으시는 분이시니, 그 주민들은 메뚜기 같다. 그분은 하늘을 휘장처럼 펴시고, 사람이 살 천막처럼 펼치신다.
23 who brings princes to nothing, who makes the judges of the earth meaningless.that bringeth princes to nothing; that maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.그분은 군왕들을 아무것도 아닌 것으로 만드시고, 땅의 통치자들을 헛것같이 되게 하신다.
24 They are planted scarcely. They are sown scarcely. Their stock has scarcely taken root in the ground. He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the whirlwind takes them away as stubble.Yea, they have not been planted; yea, they have not been sown; yea, their stock hath not taken root in the earth: moreover he bloweth upon them, and they wither, and the whirlwind taketh them away as stubble.그들은 겨우 심기고 겨우 뿌려져, 그 줄기가 땅에 채 뿌리도 내리기 전에, 그분이 입김만 부셔도 그들은 시들고, 회오리바람이 지푸라기처럼 그들을 휩쓸어 간다.
25 “ To whom then will you liken me? Who is my equal?” says the Holy One.To whom then will ye liken me, that I should be equal to him? saith the Holy One.거룩하신 분께서 말씀하신다. "그러니 너희가 나를 누구에게 비기겠느냐? 누가 나와 같으냐?"
26 Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these, who brings out their army by number. He calls them all by name. By the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power, not one is lacking.Lift up your eyes on high, and see who hath created these, that bringeth out their host by number; he calleth them all by name; by the greatness of his might, and for that he is strong in power, not one is lacking.너희 눈을 높이 들어, 누가 이것들을 창조하셨는지 보라. 그분은 그 군대를 수효대로 이끌어 내시고, 그것들을 하나하나 이름으로 부르신다. 그분의 능력이 크시고 그분의 권능이 강하시므로, 하나도 빠지는 것이 없다.
27 Why do you say, Jacob, and speak, Israel, “ My way is hidden from Yahweh, and the justice due me is disregarded by my God”?Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from Jehovah, and the justice due to me is passed away from my God?야곱아, 어찌하여 네가 말하며, 이스라엘아, 어찌하여 네가 "내 길은 여호와께 숨겨졌고 내가 받을 정의는 내 하나님께 무시당한다" 하고 말하느냐?
28 Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? The everlasting God, Yahweh, the Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn’t faint. He isn’t weary. His understanding is unsearchable.Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard? The everlasting God, Jehovah, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary; there is no searching of his understanding.너희가 알지 못하였느냐? 듣지 못하였느냐? 영원하신 하나님 여호와, 땅끝까지 창조하신 분은 피곤해하지 않으시고 지치지 않으신다. 그분의 명철은 헤아릴 수 없다.
29 He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might.He giveth power to the faint; and to him that hath no might he increaseth strength.그분은 약한 자에게 능력을 주시고, 힘이 없는 자에게 기력을 더하신다.
30 Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall;Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:청년이라도 피곤하며 지치고, 장정이라도 넘어지고 쓰러지겠지만,
31 but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.but they that wait for Jehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.여호와를 바라는 자들은 새 힘을 얻을 것이다. 그들은 독수리처럼 날개 치며 올라갈 것이며, 달려가도 지치지 않고 걸어가도 피곤하지 않을 것이다.
