1 Come near, you nations, to hear! Listen, you peoples. Let the earth and all it contains hear, the world, and everything that comes from it.Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye peoples: let the earth hear, and the fulness thereof; the world, and all things that come forth from it.민족들아, 가까이 나아와 들으라. 백성들아, 귀를 기울이라. 땅과 거기에 가득한 것들아, 세계와 거기에서 나는 모든 것들아, 들으라.
2 For Yahweh is enraged against all the nations, and angry with all their armies. He has utterly destroyed them. He has given them over for slaughter.For Jehovah hath indignation against all the nations, and wrath against all their host: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.여호와께서 모든 민족을 향해 진노하시고, 그들의 모든 군대를 향해 분노하셨다. 그분은 그들을 완전히 멸하시고, 도살당하도록 내어 주셨다.
3 Their slain will also be cast out, and the stench of their dead bodies will come up. The mountains will melt in their blood.Their slain also shall be cast out, and the stench of their dead bodies shall come up; and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.그들 가운데 죽임당한 자들은 내던져지고, 그 시체에서 나는 악취가 올라오며, 산들은 그들의 피로 녹아내릴 것이다.
4 All of the army of the sky will be dissolved. The sky will be rolled up like a scroll, and all its armies will fade away, as a leaf fades from off a vine or a fig tree.And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll; and all their host shall fade away, as the leaf fadeth from off the vine, and as a fading leaf from the fig-tree.하늘의 모든 군대가 사라지고, 하늘은 두루마리처럼 말리며, 그 모든 군대는 포도나무에서 잎이 시들 듯, 무화과나무에서 잎이 떨어지듯 시들어 떨어질 것이다.
5 For my sword has drunk its fill in the sky. Behold, it will come down on Edom, and on the people of my curse, for judgment.For my sword hath drunk its fill in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Edom, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.내 칼이 하늘에서 흠뻑 마셨으니, 보라, 그 칼이 에돔 위에, 곧 내가 저주한 백성 위에 심판으로 내려올 것이다.
6 Yahweh’s sword is filled with blood. It is covered with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams; for Yahweh has a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.The sword of Jehovah is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams; for Jehovah hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.여호와의 칼이 피로 가득하고 기름으로 덮였으니, 어린 양과 염소의 피와 숫양의 콩팥 기름으로 그러하다. 이는 여호와께서 보스라에서 희생제물을 드리시고, 에돔 땅에서 큰 살육을 행하시기 때문이다.
7 The wild oxen will come down with them, and the young bulls with the mighty bulls; and their land will be drunken with blood, and their dust made greasy with fat.And the wild-oxen shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls: and their land shall be drunken with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.들소들이 그들과 함께 쓰러지고, 어린 수소들이 힘센 황소들과 함께 쓰러질 것이다. 그 땅은 피로 흠뻑 젖고, 그 흙은 기름으로 번질거릴 것이다.
8 For Yahweh has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.For Jehovah hath a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.이는 여호와께 복수의 날이 있고, 시온의 송사를 위한 보응의 해가 있기 때문이다.
9 Its streams will be turned into pitch, its dust into sulfur, and its land will become burning pitch.And the streams of Edom shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.에돔의 시내들은 역청으로 변하고, 그 흙은 유황으로 변하며, 그 땅은 불타는 역청이 될 것이다.
10 It won’t be quenched night or day. Its smoke will go up forever. From generation to generation, it will lie waste. No one will pass through it forever and ever.It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever; from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.그 불은 밤낮으로 꺼지지 않고, 그 연기는 영원히 올라가며, 대대로 황폐한 채로 있어 영원토록 그곳을 지나갈 자가 없을 것이다.
11 But the pelican and the porcupine will possess it. The owl and the raven will dwell in it. He will stretch the line of confusion over it, and the plumb line of emptiness.But the pelican and the porcupine shall possess it; and the owl and the raven shall dwell therein: and he will stretch over it the line of confusion, and the plummet of emptiness.그러나 사다새와 고슴도치가 그 땅을 차지하고, 부엉이와 까마귀가 거기에 깃들 것이다. 그분이 그 위에 혼돈의 줄과 공허의 추를 드리우실 것이다.
12 They shall call its nobles to the kingdom, but none shall be there; and all its princes shall be nothing.They shall call the nobles thereof to the kingdom, but none shall be there; and all its princes shall be nothing.사람들이 그 귀족들을 불러 나라를 세우려 하나 거기에 아무도 없고, 그 모든 군주는 아무것도 아닌 것이 될 것이다.
13 Thorns will come up in its palaces, nettles and thistles in its fortresses; and it will be a habitation of jackals, a court for ostriches.And thorns shall come up in its palaces, nettles and thistles in the fortresses thereof; and it shall be a habitation of jackals, a court for ostriches.그 궁궐에는 가시나무가 자라고, 그 요새에는 쐐기풀과 엉겅퀴가 돋아나며, 그곳은 승냥이의 거처가 되고 타조의 마당이 될 것이다.
14 The wild animals of the desert will meet with the wolves, and the wild goat will cry to his fellow. Yes, the night creature shall settle there, and shall find herself a place of rest.And the wild beasts of the desert shall meet with the wolves, and the wild goat shall cry to his fellow; yea, the night-monster shall settle there, and shall find her a place of rest.광야의 들짐승들이 이리들과 만나고, 들염소가 그 짝을 부르며, 밤짐승이 그곳에 자리 잡고 쉴 곳을 찾을 것이다.
15 The arrow snake will make her nest there, and lay, hatch, and gather under her shade. Yes, the kites will be gathered there, every one with her mate.There shall the dart-snake make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shade; yea, there shall the kites be gathered, every one with her mate.화살뱀이 거기에 둥지를 틀어 알을 낳고 품어 까며, 제 그늘 아래 새끼를 모을 것이다. 솔개들도 저마다 제 짝과 함께 그곳에 모여들 것이다.
16 Search in the book of Yahweh, and read: not one of these will be missing. None will lack her mate. For my mouth has commanded, and his Spirit has gathered them.Seek ye out of the book of Jehovah, and read: no one of these shall be missing, none shall want her mate; for my mouth, it hath commanded, and his Spirit, it hath gathered them.여호와의 책을 찾아 읽으라. 이것들 가운데 하나도 빠지지 않고, 어느 것도 제 짝이 없지 않을 것이다. 이는 그분의 입이 명령하셨고, 그분의 영이 그것들을 모으셨기 때문이다.
17 He has cast the lot for them, and his hand has divided it to them with a measuring line. They shall possess it forever. From generation to generation they will dwell in it.And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever; from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.그분이 그것들을 위해 제비를 뽑으시고, 그분의 손이 측량줄로 그 땅을 그것들에게 나누어 주셨으니, 그것들이 영원히 그 땅을 차지하고 대대로 거기에 거할 것이다.
