1 A shoot will come out of the stock of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots will bear fruit.And there shall come forth a shoot out of the stock of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots shall bear fruit.이새의 줄기에서 한 싹이 돋아나고, 그 뿌리에서 한 가지가 자라나 열매를 맺을 것이다.
2 Yahweh’s Spirit will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Yahweh.And the Spirit of Jehovah shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah.여호와의 영이 그 위에 머무를 것이니, 곧 지혜와 총명의 영이요, 모략과 권능의 영이며, 지식과 여호와를 경외하는 영이다.
3 His delight will be in the fear of Yahweh. He will not judge by the sight of his eyes, neither decide by the hearing of his ears;And his delight shall be in the fear of Jehovah; and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither decide after the hearing of his ears;그가 여호와를 경외하는 것을 기뻐할 것이며, 눈에 보이는 대로 재판하지 않고 귀에 들리는 대로 판단하지 않을 것이다.
4 but he will judge the poor with righteousness, and decide with equity for the humble of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.but with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.오직 의로 가난한 자를 재판하고 공평으로 땅의 겸손한 자를 판단할 것이다. 그 입의 막대기로 땅을 치고 그 입술의 기운으로 악한 자를 죽일 것이다.
5 Righteousness will be the belt around his waist, and faithfulness the belt around his waist.And righteousness shall be the girdle of his waist, and faithfulness the girdle of his loins.의가 그의 허리띠가 되고 신실함이 그의 허리띠가 될 것이다.
6 The wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat, the calf, the young lion, and the fattened calf together; and a little child will lead them.And the wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.이리가 어린 양과 함께 살고, 표범이 어린 염소와 함께 누우며, 송아지와 어린 사자와 살진 짐승이 함께 있고, 어린아이가 그것들을 이끌 것이다.
7 The cow and the bear will graze. Their young ones will lie down together. The lion will eat straw like the ox.And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.암소와 곰이 함께 풀을 뜯고 그 새끼들이 함께 누우며, 사자가 소처럼 짚을 먹을 것이다.
8 The nursing child will play near a cobra’s hole, and the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder’s den.젖먹이가 코브라 굴 가까이에서 놀고, 젖 뗀 아이가 독사의 굴에 손을 넣을 것이다.
9 They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth will be full of the knowledge of Yahweh, as the waters cover the sea.They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of Jehovah, as the waters cover the sea.나의 거룩한 산 어디에서도 해치거나 파괴하는 일이 없을 것이다. 물이 바다를 덮음같이 여호와를 아는 지식이 땅에 가득할 것이기 때문이다.
10 It will happen in that day that the nations will seek the root of Jesse, who stands as a banner of the peoples; and his resting place will be glorious.And it shall come to pass in that day, that the root of Jesse, that standeth for an ensign of the peoples, unto him shall the nations seek; and his resting-place shall be glorious.그날에 이새의 뿌리가 백성들을 위한 깃발로 서게 되고, 민족들이 그를 찾을 것이며, 그가 머무는 곳이 영광스러울 것이다.
11 It will happen in that day that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, that shall remain, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.그날에 주께서 다시 두 번째로 손을 펴서 자기 백성 가운데 남은 자들을, 곧 앗수르와 이집트와 바드로스와 구스와 엘람과 시날과 하맛과 바다의 섬들에서 돌아오게 하실 것이다.
12 He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.And he will set up an ensign for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.그가 민족들을 위해 깃발을 세우시고 이스라엘에서 쫓겨난 자들을 모으시며, 땅 사방에서 흩어진 유다 사람들을 함께 모으실 것이다.
13 The envy also of Ephraim will depart, and those who persecute Judah will be cut off. Ephraim won’t envy Judah, and Judah won’t persecute Ephraim.The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and they that vex Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.에브라임의 시기심이 사라지고 유다를 괴롭히던 자들이 끊어질 것이다. 에브라임이 유다를 시기하지 않고 유다가 에브라임을 괴롭히지 않을 것이다.
14 They will fly down on the shoulders of the Philistines on the west. Together they will plunder the children of the east. They will extend their power over Edom and Moab, and the children of Ammon will obey them.And they shall fly down upon the shoulder of the Philistines on the west; together shall they despoil the children of the east: they shall put forth their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.그들이 서쪽 블레셋 사람들의 어깨를 타고 날아 내리며, 함께 동방 사람들을 약탈할 것이다. 그들이 에돔과 모압에 손을 뻗치고 암몬 자손이 그들에게 복종할 것이다.
15 Yahweh will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his scorching wind he will wave his hand over the River, and will split it into seven streams, and cause men to march over in sandals.And Jehovah will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his scorching wind will he wave his hand over the River, and will smite it into seven streams, and cause men to march over dryshod.여호와께서 이집트 바다의 혀를 완전히 멸하시고, 그 뜨거운 바람으로 그 강 위에 손을 흔드시며, 그것을 일곱 갈래로 갈라서 사람들이 신을 신고 건너가게 하실 것이다.
16 There will be a highway for the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, like there was for Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.And there shall be a highway for the remnant of his people, that shall remain, from Assyria; like as there was for Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.그의 백성 가운데 남은 자들을 위하여 앗수르에서부터 큰길이 생길 것이니, 이스라엘이 이집트 땅에서 올라오던 날에 그러했던 것과 같을 것이다.
