1 Behold, Yahweh makes the earth empty, makes it waste, turns it upside down, and scatters its inhabitants.Behold, Jehovah maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.보라, 여호와께서 땅을 비게 하시고 황폐하게 하시며, 그 땅을 뒤집어엎으시고 거기 사는 사람들을 흩으신다.
2 It will be as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the creditor, so with the debtor; as with the taker of interest, so with the giver of interest.And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the creditor, so with the debtor; as with the taker of interest, so with the giver of interest to him.그때에는 백성이나 제사장이나, 종이나 그 주인이나, 여종이나 그 안주인이나, 사는 사람이나 파는 사람이나, 꾸어 주는 사람이나 꾸는 사람이나, 이자를 받는 사람이나 이자를 내는 사람이나 다 마찬가지가 될 것이다.
3 The earth will be utterly emptied and utterly laid waste; for Yahweh has spoken this word.The earth shall be utterly emptied, and utterly laid waste; for Jehovah hath spoken this word.땅이 완전히 텅 비고 완전히 황폐해질 것이니, 여호와께서 이 말씀을 하셨기 때문이다.
4 The earth mourns and fades away. The world languishes and fades away. The lofty people of the earth languish.The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the lofty people of the earth do languish.땅이 슬퍼하며 시들어 가고, 세상이 쇠약해지며 시들어 간다. 땅에서 높임받던 백성도 쇠약해진다.
5 The earth also is polluted under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes, and broken the everlasting covenant.The earth also is polluted under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes, broken the everlasting covenant.땅이 그 위에 사는 사람들 때문에 더러워졌으니, 그들이 율법을 어기고 규례를 저버리며 영원한 언약을 깨뜨렸기 때문이다.
6 Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell therein are found guilty. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left.Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are found guilty: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.그러므로 저주가 땅을 삼키고, 거기 사는 사람들이 죄가 있다고 드러난다. 그러므로 땅에 사는 사람들이 불에 타고, 남은 사람은 적다.
7 The new wine mourns. The vine languishes. All the merry-hearted sigh.The new wine mourneth, the vine languisheth, all the merry-hearted do sigh.새 포도주가 슬퍼하고 포도나무가 쇠약해지며, 마음이 즐겁던 모든 사람이 탄식한다.
8 The mirth of tambourines ceases. The sound of those who rejoice ends. The joy of the harp ceases.The mirth of tabrets ceaseth, the noise of them that rejoice endeth, the joy of the harp ceaseth.소고를 치며 즐거워하던 소리가 그치고, 기뻐하던 사람들의 떠들썩함이 끝나며, 수금의 즐거움도 그친다.
9 They will not drink wine with a song. Strong drink will be bitter to those who drink it.They shall not drink wine with a song; strong drink shall be bitter to them that drink it.그들이 노래하며 포도주를 마시지 못하고, 독한 술이 마시는 사람들에게 쓰게 될 것이다.
10 The confused city is broken down. Every house is shut up, that no man may come in.The waste city is broken down; every house is shut up, that no man may come in.혼란에 빠진 성읍이 무너지고, 아무도 들어오지 못하도록 모든 집이 닫힌다.
11 There is a crying in the streets because of the wine. All joy is darkened. The mirth of the land is gone.There is a crying in the streets because of the wine; all joy is darkened, the mirth of the land is gone.포도주가 없어 거리에서 부르짖는 소리가 있고, 모든 기쁨이 어두워지며, 땅의 즐거움이 사라진다.
12 The city is left in desolation, and the gate is struck with destruction.In the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction.성읍은 황폐한 채로 남고, 성문은 부서져 무너진다.
13 For it will be so within the earth among the peoples, as the shaking of an olive tree, as the gleanings when the vintage is done.For thus shall it be in the midst of the earth among the peoples, as the shaking of an olive-tree, as the gleanings when the vintage is done.땅 가운데서 백성들 사이에 이런 일이 있을 것이니, 마치 올리브나무를 흔들어 떨 듯, 포도 수확이 끝난 뒤에 남은 것을 줍듯 할 것이다.
14 These shall lift up their voice. They will shout for the majesty of Yahweh. They cry aloud from the sea.These shall lift up their voice, they shall shout; for the majesty of Jehovah they cry aloud from the sea.이 사람들은 목소리를 높여 여호와의 위엄을 외치며, 바다에서부터 크게 부르짖을 것이다.
15 Therefore glorify Yahweh in the east, even the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel, in the islands of the sea!Wherefore glorify ye Jehovah in the east, even the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel, in the isles of the sea.그러므로 너희는 동쪽에서 여호와를 영화롭게 하고, 바다의 섬들에서 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와의 이름을 영화롭게 하여라!
16 From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs. Glory to the righteous! But I said, “ I pine away! I pine away! woe is me!” The treacherous have dealt treacherously. Yes, the treacherous have dealt very treacherously.From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs: Glory to the righteous. But I said, I pine away, I pine away, woe is me! the treacherous have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous have dealt very treacherously.우리가 땅끝에서부터 “의로우신 분께 영광을!”이라 노래하는 소리를 들었다. 그러나 나는 말한다. “나는 쇠약해진다! 나는 쇠약해진다! 내게 화가 있도다! 배신자들이 배신을 행하고, 참으로 배신자들이 심히 배신을 행하였다.”
17 Fear, the pit, and the snare are on you who inhabit the earth.Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.땅에 사는 사람아, 두려움과 함정과 올무가 네게 닥쳤다.
18 It will happen that he who flees from the noise of the fear will fall into the pit; and he who comes up out of the middle of the pit will be taken in the snare; for the windows on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble.And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble.그 두려운 소리에서 도망하는 사람은 함정에 빠지고, 함정 가운데서 올라오는 사람은 올무에 걸릴 것이다. 이는 높은 곳의 창들이 열리고 땅의 기초가 흔들리기 때문이다.
19 The earth is utterly broken. The earth is torn apart. The earth is shaken violently.The earth is utterly broken, the earth is rent asunder, the earth is shaken violently.땅이 완전히 부서지고, 땅이 갈라지며, 땅이 심하게 흔들린다.
20 The earth will stagger like a drunken man, and will sway back and forth like a hammock. Its disobedience will be heavy on it, and it will fall and not rise again.The earth shall stagger like a drunken man, and shall sway to and fro like a hammock; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it, and it shall fall, and not rise again.땅이 술 취한 사람처럼 비틀거리고, 그물 침대처럼 이리저리 흔들린다. 그 불순종이 땅을 무겁게 짓누르니, 땅이 쓰러져 다시 일어나지 못할 것이다.
21 It will happen in that day that Yahweh will punish the army of the high ones on high, and the kings of the earth on the earth.And it shall come to pass in that day, that Jehovah will punish the host of the high ones on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.그날에 여호와께서 높은 곳에서 높은 자들의 군대를 벌하시고, 땅에서 땅의 왕들을 벌하실 것이다.
22 They will be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and will be shut up in the prison; and after many days they will be visited.And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison; and after many days shall they be visited.그들이 함정에 갇힌 죄수들처럼 함께 모여 갇히고, 옥에 갇혔다가 여러 날 후에 형벌을 받게 될 것이다.
23 Then the moon will be confounded, and the sun ashamed; for Yahweh of Armies will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem; and glory will be before his elders.Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed; for Jehovah of hosts will reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem; and before his elders shall be glory.그때에 달이 무색해지고 해가 부끄러워할 것이니, 만군의 여호와께서 시온 산과 예루살렘에서 다스리시고, 그 장로들 앞에서 영광을 나타내실 것이기 때문이다.
