1 Woe to you who destroy, but you weren’t destroyed, and who betray, but nobody betrayed you! When you have finished destroying, you will be destroyed; and when you have finished betrayal, you will be betrayed.Woe to thee that destroyest, and thou wast not destroyed; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! When thou hast ceased to destroy, thou shalt be destroyed; and when thou hast made an end of dealing treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.너 파괴하는 자에게 화가 있으리라. 너는 파괴된 적이 없었고, 너 배신하는 자여, 아무도 너를 배신하지 않았다! 네가 파괴하기를 마치면 너도 파괴될 것이요, 네가 배신하기를 끝내면 너도 배신당할 것이다.
2 Yahweh, be gracious to us. We have waited for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.O Jehovah, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou our arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.여호와여, 우리에게 은혜를 베푸소서. 우리가 주를 기다렸나이다. 아침마다 우리의 힘이 되시고, 환난의 때에 우리의 구원이 되소서.
3 At the noise of the thunder, the peoples have fled. When you lift yourself up, the nations are scattered.At the noise of the tumult the peoples are fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations are scattered.천둥 같은 소리에 백성들이 도망하였고, 주께서 스스로 일어나시니 민족들이 흩어졌나이다.
4 Your plunder will be gathered as the caterpillar gathers. Men will leap on it as locusts leap.And your spoil shall be gathered as the caterpillar gathereth: as locusts leap shall men leap upon it.너희의 노략물은 애벌레가 거두듯 거두어질 것이요, 메뚜기가 뛰어오르듯 사람들이 그 위로 달려들 것이다.
5 Yahweh is exalted, for he dwells on high. He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness.Jehovah is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with justice and righteousness.여호와께서는 높이 계시니 높임을 받으시며, 시온을 정의와 의로 가득 채우셨다.
6 There will be stability in your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of Yahweh is your treasure.And there shall be stability in thy times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge: the fear of Jehovah is thy treasure.네 시대에는 안정이 있을 것이요, 구원과 지혜와 지식이 풍성하리라. 여호와를 경외함이 네 보물이니라.
7 Behold, their valiant ones cry outside; the ambassadors of peace weep bitterly.Behold, their valiant ones cry without; the ambassadors of peace weep bitterly.보라, 그들의 용사들이 밖에서 부르짖으며, 평화의 사절들이 비통하게 우는도다.
8 The highways are desolate. The traveling man ceases. The covenant is broken. He has despised the cities. He doesn’t respect man.The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: the enemy hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth not man.큰길은 황폐하고 길 가는 사람이 끊어졌다. 언약은 깨어졌고, 그는 성읍들을 멸시하며 사람을 존중하지 않는다.
9 The land mourns and languishes. Lebanon is confounded and withers away. Sharon is like a desert, and Bashan and Carmel are stripped bare.The land mourneth and languisheth; Lebanon is confounded and withereth away; Sharon is like a desert; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves.땅이 슬퍼하며 쇠약해지고, 레바논은 부끄러움을 당하여 시들어 간다. 사론은 사막 같고, 바산과 갈멜은 헐벗었다.
10 “ Now I will arise,” says Yahweh. “ Now I will lift myself up. Now I will be exalted.Now will I arise, saith Jehovah; now will I lift up myself; now will I be exalted.여호와께서 이르시되 "이제 내가 일어나리라. 이제 내가 스스로 높이리라. 이제 내가 높임을 받으리라.
11 You will conceive chaff. You will give birth to stubble. Your breath is a fire that will devour you.Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath is a fire that shall devour you.너희는 겨를 잉태하여 지푸라기를 낳으리라. 너희의 숨은 너희를 삼킬 불이라.
12 The peoples will be like the burning of lime, like thorns that are cut down and burned in the fire.And the peoples shall be as the burnings of lime, as thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire.백성들은 불타는 석회 같고, 잘려 불에 타는 가시덤불 같으리라.
13 Hear, you who are far off, what I have done; and, you who are near, acknowledge my might.”Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.멀리 있는 너희는 내가 행한 일을 들으라. 가까이 있는 너희는 나의 능력을 인정하라."
14 The sinners in Zion are afraid. Trembling has seized the godless ones. Who among us can live with the devouring fire? Who among us can live with everlasting burning?The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling hath seized the godless ones: Who among us can dwell with the devouring fire? who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings?시온의 죄인들이 두려워하고, 경건치 않은 자들이 떨고 있다. 우리 가운데 누가 삼키는 불과 함께 살 수 있으랴? 우리 가운데 누가 영원히 타는 불과 함께 살 수 있으랴?
15 He who walks righteously and speaks blamelessly, he who despises the gain of oppressions, who gestures with his hands, refusing to take a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed, and shuts his eyes from looking at evil —He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from taking a bribe, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from looking upon evil:의롭게 행하고 흠 없이 말하는 자, 압제로 얻은 이익을 멸시하는 자, 뇌물 받기를 거절하여 손을 내젓는 자, 피 흘림을 듣지 않으려 귀를 막는 자, 악을 보지 않으려 눈을 감는 자—
16 he will dwell on high. His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks. His bread will be supplied. His waters will be sure.He shall dwell on high; his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks; his bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.그가 높은 곳에 거하리라. 그의 방어처는 견고한 바위 요새가 될 것이요, 그의 양식은 공급되고 그의 물은 마르지 않으리라.
17 Your eyes will see the king in his beauty. They will see a distant land.Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold a land that reacheth afar.네 눈은 그 아름다운 가운데 계신 왕을 볼 것이요, 먼 땅을 바라보리라.
18 Your heart will meditate on the terror. Where is he who counted? Where is he who weighed? Where is he who counted the towers?Thy heart shall muse on the terror: Where is he that counted, where is he that weighed the tribute? where is he that counted the towers?네 마음은 그 두려움을 되새기며 이르기를, "세금을 계산하던 자가 어디 있느냐? 무게를 달던 자가 어디 있느냐? 망대를 세던 자가 어디 있느냐?" 하리라.
19 You will no longer see the fierce people, a people of a deep speech that you can’t comprehend, with a strange language that you can’t understand.Thou shalt not see the fierce people, a people of a deep speech that thou canst not comprehend, of a strange tongue that thou canst not understand.너는 더 이상 사나운 백성, 곧 네가 알아듣지 못할 깊은 말과 이해할 수 없는 이상한 언어를 쓰는 백성을 보지 아니하리라.
20 Look at Zion, the city of our appointed festivals. Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a quiet habitation, a tent that won’t be removed. Its stakes will never be plucked up, nor will any of its cords be broken.Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tent that shall not be removed, the stakes whereof shall never be plucked up, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.우리가 정한 절기의 성읍 시온을 바라보라. 네 눈은 예루살렘, 곧 고요한 처소, 옮겨지지 않을 장막을 보리라. 그 말뚝은 결코 뽑히지 않고, 그 줄도 하나도 끊어지지 않으리라.
21 But there Yahweh will be with us in majesty, a place of wide rivers and streams, in which no galley with oars will go, neither will any gallant ship pass by there.But there Jehovah will be with us in majesty, a place of broad rivers and streams, wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.거기서 여호와께서 위엄 가운데 우리와 함께 계시며, 넓은 강과 시내가 있는 곳이 되리라. 그곳에는 노 젓는 배도 다니지 않고, 위풍당당한 배도 지나가지 못하리라.
22 For Yahweh is our judge. Yahweh is our lawgiver. Yahweh is our king. He will save us.For Jehovah is our judge, Jehovah is our lawgiver, Jehovah is our king; he will save us.여호와는 우리의 재판관이시요, 여호와는 우리의 입법자이시며, 여호와는 우리의 왕이시니 그가 우리를 구원하시리라.
23 Your rigging is untied. They couldn’t strengthen the foot of their mast. They couldn’t spread the sail. Then the prey of a great plunder was divided. The lame took the prey.Thy tacklings are loosed; they could not strengthen the foot of their mast, they could not spread the sail: then was the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame took the prey.네 돛줄은 풀어졌으니, 그들은 돛대의 밑동을 단단히 고정하지 못하고 돛을 펴지도 못하였다. 그때에 큰 노략물의 전리품이 나누어지니, 다리 저는 자도 그 노략물을 가졌다.
24 The inhabitant won’t say, “ I am sick.” The people who dwell therein will be forgiven their iniquity.And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.그 주민은 "내가 병들었다"라고 말하지 않으리니, 거기 사는 백성은 그 죄악을 용서받으리라.
