1 Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they don’t look to the Holy One of Israel, and they don’t seek Yahweh!Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek Jehovah!도움을 얻으려고 이집트로 내려가는 자들에게 화가 있으리라! 그들은 말을 의지하고, 병거가 많다고 그것을 신뢰하며, 기마병이 매우 강하다고 그들을 믿으면서도, 이스라엘의 거룩하신 분을 바라보지 않고 여호와를 찾지 않는구나.
2 Yet he also is wise, and will bring disaster, and will not call back his words, but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of those who work iniquity.Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words, but will arise against the house of the evil-doers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.그러나 그분 또한 지혜로우셔서 재앙을 내리시며 자기 말씀을 거두지 않으시고, 악을 행하는 자들의 집과 죄악을 저지르는 자들을 돕는 세력을 치려고 일어나시리라.
3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When Yahweh stretches out his hand, both he who helps shall stumble, and he who is helped shall fall, and they all shall be consumed together.Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit: and when Jehovah shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall stumble, and he that is helped shall fall, and they all shall be consumed together.이집트 사람들은 사람일 뿐 하나님이 아니며, 그들의 말은 살덩이일 뿐 영이 아니다. 여호와께서 손을 펴시면 돕는 자도 비틀거리고 도움을 받는 자도 쓰러져서, 그들이 다 함께 멸망하리라.
4 For Yahweh says to me, “ As the lion and the young lion growling over his prey, if a multitude of shepherds is called together against him, will not be dismayed at their voice, nor abase himself for their noise, so Yahweh of Armies will come down to fight on Mount Zion and on its heights.For thus saith Jehovah unto me, As the lion and the young lion growling over his prey, if a multitude of shepherds be called forth against him, will not be dismayed at their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so will Jehovah of hosts come down to fight upon mount Zion, and upon the hill thereof.여호와께서 내게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "사자, 곧 젊은 사자가 먹이를 움켜쥐고 으르렁거릴 때, 목자들이 떼지어 몰려와 맞선다 해도 그 외침에 놀라지 않고 그 소란에 굽히지 않는 것처럼, 만군의 여호와가 시온 산과 그 언덕 위에서 싸우려고 내려오리라.
5 As birds hovering, so Yahweh of Armies will protect Jerusalem. He will protect and deliver it. He will pass over and preserve it.”As birds hovering, so will Jehovah of hosts protect Jerusalem; he will protect and deliver it, he will pass over and preserve it.새들이 둥지 위를 맴돌며 지키듯이, 만군의 여호와가 예루살렘을 지키리라. 그가 지키고 건지며, 넘어가 보존하리라."
6 Return to him from whom you have deeply revolted, children of Israel.Turn ye unto him from whom ye have deeply revolted, O children of Israel.이스라엘 자손아, 너희가 깊이 등졌던 그분께로 돌아오라.
7 For in that day everyone shall cast away his idols of silver and his idols of gold — sin which your own hands have made for you.For in that day they shall cast away every man his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.그날에 사람마다 자기 손으로 죄가 되도록 만든 은 우상과 금 우상을 내던지리라.
8 “ The Assyrian will fall by the sword, not of man; and the sword, not of mankind, shall devour him. He will flee from the sword, and his young men will become subject to forced labor.And the Assyrian shall fall by the sword, not of man; and the sword, not of men, shall devour him; and he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall become subject to taskwork."앗시리아는 칼에 쓰러지되 사람의 칼이 아니며, 칼이 그를 삼키되 사람의 것이 아니리라. 그가 칼 앞에서 도망하고, 그 젊은이들은 강제 노역에 끌려가리라.
9 His rock will pass away by reason of terror, and his princes will be afraid of the banner,” says Yahweh, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.And his rock shall pass away by reason of terror, and his princes shall be dismayed at the ensign, saith Jehovah, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.그들의 바위는 두려움 때문에 사라지고, 그 지휘관들은 깃발 앞에서 떨리라." 시온에 자기 불을, 예루살렘에 자기 화로를 두신 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
