1 The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, one of the priests who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin.The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests that were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin:베냐민 땅 아나돗에 살던 제사장들 가운데 한 사람인 힐기야의 아들 예레미야의 말입니다.
2 Yahweh’s word came to him in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.to whom the word of Jehovah came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.유다 왕 아몬의 아들 요시야가 다스린 지 십삼 년째 되던 해에 여호와의 말씀이 예레미야에게 임했습니다.
3 It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, to the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, to the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.또한 요시야의 아들 유다 왕 여호야김 때부터 요시야의 아들 유다 왕 시드기야가 다스린 지 십일 년이 끝날 때까지, 곧 다섯째 달에 예루살렘 백성이 포로로 끌려갈 때까지 그 말씀이 계속 임했습니다.
4 Now Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,Now the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,여호와의 말씀이 내게 임해 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다.
5 “ Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you. I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee; I have appointed thee a prophet unto the nations."내가 너를 모태에서 짓기 전에 너를 알았고, 네가 태에서 나오기 전에 너를 거룩하게 구별해 여러 민족의 선지자로 세웠다."
6 Then I said, “Ah, Lord Yahweh! Behold, I don’t know how to speak; for I am a child.”Then said I, Ah, Lord Jehovah! behold, I know not how to speak; for I am a child.그래서 내가 말했습니다. "아, 주 여호와여! 보십시오, 저는 말할 줄을 모릅니다. 저는 아이일 뿐입니다."
7 But Yahweh said to me, “Don’t say, ‘ I am a child;’ for you must go to whomever I send you, and you must say whatever I command you.But Jehovah said unto me, Say not, I am a child; for to whomsoever I shall send thee thou shalt go, and whatsoever I shall command thee thou shalt speak.그러나 여호와께서 내게 말씀하셨습니다. "너는 '나는 아이일 뿐입니다'라고 말하지 마라. 내가 너를 누구에게 보내든지 너는 가야 하고, 내가 네게 무엇을 명령하든지 너는 말해야 한다.
8 Don’t be afraid because of them, for I am with you to rescue you,” says Yahweh.Be not afraid because of them; for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith Jehovah.그들 때문에 두려워하지 마라. 내가 너와 함께 있어 너를 건져 내겠다." 여호와의 말씀입니다.
9 Then Yahweh stretched out his hand and touched my mouth. Then Yahweh said to me, “ Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.Then Jehovah put forth his hand, and touched my mouth; and Jehovah said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth:그러고 나서 여호와께서 손을 내밀어 내 입에 대시며 내게 말씀하셨습니다. "보아라, 내가 내 말을 네 입에 두었다.
10 Behold, I have today set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to uproot and to tear down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.”see, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down and to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.보아라, 내가 오늘 너를 여러 민족과 여러 나라 위에 세워, 뽑고 허물며 멸하고 무너뜨리며 세우고 심게 하였다."
11 Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, “ Jeremiah, what do you see?” I said, “ I see a branch of an almond tree.”Moreover the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond-tree.또 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임해 말씀하셨습니다. "예레미야야, 무엇이 보이느냐?" 내가 대답했습니다. "살구나무 가지가 보입니다."
12 Then Yahweh said to me, “ You have seen well; for I watch over my word to perform it.”Then said Jehovah unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I watch over my word to perform it.그러자 여호와께서 내게 말씀하셨습니다. "네가 잘 보았다. 이는 내가 내 말을 이루려고 지켜보고 있기 때문이다."
13 Yahweh’s word came to me the second time, saying, “ What do you see?” I said, “ I see a boiling cauldron; and it is tipping away from the north.”And the word of Jehovah came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a boiling caldron; and the face thereof is from the north.여호와의 말씀이 두 번째로 내게 임해 말씀하셨습니다. "무엇이 보이느냐?" 내가 대답했습니다. "끓는 가마솥이 보이는데, 북쪽에서부터 기울어져 있습니다."
14 Then Yahweh said to me, “ Out of the north, evil will break out on all the inhabitants of the land.Then Jehovah said unto me, Out of the north evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.그러자 여호와께서 내게 말씀하셨습니다. "북쪽에서부터 재앙이 일어나 이 땅에 사는 모든 사람에게 쏟아질 것이다.
15 For behold, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north,” says Yahweh. “ They will come, and they will each set his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all its walls all around, and against all the cities of Judah.For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith Jehovah; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.보아라, 내가 북쪽 나라들의 모든 족속을 부를 것이다." 여호와의 말씀입니다. "그들이 와서 저마다 자기 보좌를 예루살렘 성문 어귀에 세우고, 그 모든 성벽을 둘러싸며, 유다의 모든 성읍을 칠 것이다.
16 I will utter my judgments against them concerning all their wickedness, in that they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, and worshiped the works of their own hands.And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, in that they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.내 백성이 나를 버리고 다른 신들에게 향을 피우며 자기 손으로 만든 것들에게 절한 그 모든 악함에 대해, 내가 그들에게 내 심판을 선언하겠다.
17 “ You therefore put your belt on your waist, arise, and say to them all that I command you. Don’t be dismayed at them, lest I dismay you before them.Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at them, lest I dismay thee before them.그러므로 너는 허리에 띠를 동여매고 일어나, 내가 네게 명령하는 모든 것을 그들에게 말하여라. 그들 앞에서 두려워하지 마라. 그러지 않으면 내가 그들 앞에서 너를 두렵게 하겠다.
18 For behold, I have made you today a fortified city, an iron pillar, and bronze walls against the whole land— against the kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land.For, behold, I have made thee this day a fortified city, and an iron pillar, and brazen walls, against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.보아라, 내가 오늘 너를 온 땅과 유다 왕들과 그 고관들과 그 제사장들과 그 땅의 백성을 대적하는 견고한 성과 쇠기둥과 놋성벽이 되게 하였다.
19 They will fight against you, but they will not prevail against you; for I am with you”, says Yahweh, “ to rescue you.”And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee, saith Jehovah, to deliver thee.그들이 너와 맞서 싸우겠지만 너를 이기지 못할 것이다. 이는 내가 너와 함께 있어 너를 건져 낼 것이기 때문이다." 여호와의 말씀입니다.
