1 The message that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch the son of Neriah, when he wrote these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying,The word that Jeremiah the prophet spake unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he wrote these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying,유다 왕 요시야의 아들 여호야김 제사년에, 바룩이 예레미야가 불러 주는 말씀을 책에 받아 적었는데, 그때 선지자 예레미야가 네리야의 아들 바룩에게 전한 말씀입니다.
2 “ Yahweh, the God of Israel, says to you, Baruch:Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch:이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 너 바룩에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다.
3 ‘ You said, “Woe is me now! For Yahweh has added sorrow to my pain! I am weary with my groaning, and I find no rest.”’Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for Jehovah hath added sorrow to my pain; I am weary with my groaning, and I find no rest.네가 말하기를 "이제 나에게 화가 미쳤구나! 여호와께서 내 고통에 슬픔까지 더하시니, 나는 신음하다 지쳐 쉴 곳을 찾지 못한다" 하였다.
4 “ You shall tell him, Yahweh says: ‘ Behold, that which I have built, I will break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up; and this in the whole land.Thus shalt thou say unto him, Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up; and this in the whole land.너는 그에게 이렇게 전하여라. 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. 보아라, 내가 세운 것을 내가 헐고, 내가 심은 것을 내가 뽑겠다. 이것은 온 땅에 미칠 일이다.
5 Do you seek great things for yourself? Don’t seek them; for, behold, I will bring evil on all flesh,’ says Yahweh, ‘ but I will let you escape with your life wherever you go.’”And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not; for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith Jehovah; but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.그런데 네가 너 자신을 위하여 큰 것을 구하느냐? 그것을 구하지 마라. 보아라, 내가 모든 사람에게 재앙을 내리겠다고 여호와께서 말씀하신다. 그러나 네가 가는 모든 곳에서 네 목숨만은 내가 너에게 노략물처럼 건져 주겠다.
