1 The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, after Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all the captives of Jerusalem and Judah who were carried away captive to Babylon.The word which came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, after that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all the captives of Jerusalem and Judah, that were carried away captive unto Babylon.경호대장 느부사라단이 예레미야를 라마에서 풀어 준 뒤에 여호와께로부터 예레미야에게 말씀이 임했다. 느부사라단은 바벨론으로 끌려가는 예루살렘과 유다의 모든 포로 가운데서 사슬에 묶인 예레미야를 데려왔던 사람이다.
2 The captain of the guard took Jeremiah and said to him, “ Yahweh your God pronounced this evil on this place;And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said unto him, Jehovah thy God pronounced this evil upon this place;경호대장이 예레미야를 데려다가 그에게 말했다. "당신의 하나님 여호와께서 이곳에 이 재앙을 선언하셨소.
3 and Yahweh has brought it, and done according as he spoke. Because you have sinned against Yahweh, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing has come on you.and Jehovah hath brought it, and done according as he spake: because ye have sinned against Jehovah, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.이제 여호와께서 말씀하신 대로 그것을 가져오시고 행하셨소. 당신들이 여호와께 죄를 짓고 그분의 목소리에 순종하지 않았기 때문에 이 일이 당신들에게 임한 것이오.
4 Now, behold, I release you today from the chains which are on your hand. If it seems good to you to come with me into Babylon, come, and I will take care of you; but if it seems bad to you to come with me into Babylon, don’t. Behold, all the land is before you. Where it seems good and right to you to go, go there.”And now, behold, I loose thee this day from the chains which are upon thy hand. If it seem good unto thee to come with me into Babylon, come, and I will look well unto thee; but if it seem ill unto thee to come with me into Babylon, forbear: behold, all the land is before thee; whither it seemeth good and right unto thee to go, thither go.보시오, 내가 오늘 당신의 손에 채워진 사슬에서 당신을 풀어 주겠소. 만약 나와 함께 바벨론으로 가는 것이 좋게 여겨지면 오시오. 내가 당신을 잘 돌보겠소. 그러나 나와 함께 바벨론으로 가는 것이 싫게 여겨지면 가지 마시오. 보시오, 온 땅이 당신 앞에 있으니 당신이 가기에 좋고 옳다고 여겨지는 곳으로 가시오."
5 Now while he had not yet gone back, “ Go back then,” he said, “ to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go.” So the captain of the guard gave him food and a present, and let him go.Now while he was not yet gone back, Go back then, said he, to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people; or go wheresoever it seemeth right unto thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him victuals and a present, and let him go.예레미야가 아직 떠나기 전에 느부사라단이 말했다. "그렇다면 바벨론 왕이 유다 성읍들을 다스리도록 총독으로 세운 사반의 손자요 아히감의 아들인 그달리야에게로 돌아가, 그와 함께 백성 가운데 머무시오. 아니면 당신이 가기에 옳다고 여겨지는 곳 어디로든 가시오." 그러고 나서 경호대장은 그에게 먹을 것과 선물을 주어 보냈다.
6 Then Jeremiah went to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah, and lived with him among the people who were left in the land.Then went Jeremiah unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah, and dwelt with him among the people that were left in the land.그래서 예레미야는 미스바에 있는 아히감의 아들 그달리야에게로 가서, 그 땅에 남아 있는 백성 가운데서 그와 함께 살았다.
7 Now when all the captains of the forces who were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed to him men, women, children, and of the poorest of the land, of those who were not carried away captive to Babylon,Now when all the captains of the forces that were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed unto him men, and women, and children, and of the poorest of the land, of them that were not carried away captive to Babylon;들에 있던 군대 지휘관들과 그 부하들이, 바벨론 왕이 아히감의 아들 그달리야를 그 땅의 총독으로 세웠고 바벨론으로 끌려가지 않은 그 땅의 가장 가난한 자들, 곧 남자들과 여자들과 아이들을 그에게 맡겼다는 소식을 들었다.
8 then Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of the Maacathite, they and their men came to Gedaliah to Mizpah.then they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, to wit, Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.그러자 그들이 미스바에 있는 그달리야에게로 왔으니, 곧 느다냐의 아들 이스마엘과 가레아의 두 아들 요하난과 요나단과 단후멧의 아들 스라야와 느도바 사람 에배의 아들들과 마아가 사람의 아들 여사냐와 그 부하들이었다.
9 Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan swore to them and to their men, saying, “Don’t be afraid to serve the Chaldeans. Dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it will be well with you.And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan sware unto them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.사반의 손자요 아히감의 아들인 그달리야가 그들과 그 부하들에게 맹세하며 말했다. "갈대아 사람들을 섬기는 것을 두려워하지 마시오. 이 땅에 살면서 바벨론 왕을 섬기시오. 그러면 당신들에게 좋을 것이오.
10 As for me, behold, I will dwell at Mizpah, to stand before the Chaldeans who will come to us; but you, gather wine and summer fruits and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that you have taken.”As for me, behold, I will dwell at Mizpah, to stand before the Chaldeans that shall come unto us: but ye, gather ye wine and summer fruits and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that ye have taken.나로 말하자면, 보시오, 나는 미스바에 살면서 우리에게로 오는 갈대아 사람들 앞에 서겠소. 그러나 당신들은 포도주와 여름 과일과 기름을 거두어 당신들의 그릇에 담고, 당신들이 차지한 성읍들에서 사시오."
11 Likewise when all the Jews who were in Moab, and among the children of Ammon, and in Edom, and who were in all the countries, heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant of Judah, and that he had set over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan,Likewise when all the Jews that were in Moab, and among the children of Ammon, and in Edom, and that were in all the countries, heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant of Judah, and that he had set over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan;마찬가지로 모압과 암몬 자손 가운데와 에돔과 모든 나라에 있던 모든 유다 사람도, 바벨론 왕이 유다에 남은 자들을 남겨 두었고 사반의 손자요 아히감의 아들인 그달리야를 그들 위에 세웠다는 소식을 들었다.
12 then all the Jews returned out of all places where they were driven, and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah, to Mizpah, and gathered very much wine and summer fruits.then all the Jews returned out of all places whither they were driven, and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah, unto Mizpah, and gathered wine and summer fruits very much.그러자 모든 유다 사람이 쫓겨 갔던 모든 곳에서 돌아와 유다 땅으로, 미스바에 있는 그달리야에게로 와서 포도주와 여름 과일을 매우 많이 거두었다.
13 Moreover Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were in the fields, came to Gedaliah to Mizpah,Moreover Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were in the fields, came to Gedaliah to Mizpah,또한 가레아의 아들 요하난과 들에 있던 모든 군대 지휘관들이 미스바에 있는 그달리야에게로 와서
14 and said to him, “Do you know that Baalis the king of the children of Ammon has sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to take your life?” But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam didn’t believe them.and said unto him, Dost thou know that Baalis the king of the children of Ammon hath sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to take thy life? But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam believed them not.그에게 말했다. "암몬 자손의 왕 바알리스가 느다냐의 아들 이스마엘을 보내어 당신의 목숨을 빼앗으려 하는 것을 아십니까?" 그러나 아히감의 아들 그달리야는 그들의 말을 믿지 않았다.
15 Then Johanan the son of Kareah spoke to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, “ Please let me go, and I will kill Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man will know it. Why should he take your life, that all the Jews who are gathered to you should be scattered, and the remnant of Judah perish?”Then Johanan the son of Kareah spake to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, Let me go, I pray thee, and I will slay Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it: wherefore should he take thy life, that all the Jews that are gathered unto thee should be scattered, and the remnant of Judah perish?그때에 가레아의 아들 요하난이 미스바에서 그달리야에게 은밀히 말했다. "청하건대 나를 보내 주십시오. 내가 느다냐의 아들 이스마엘을 죽이겠습니다. 아무도 그것을 알지 못할 것입니다. 어찌하여 그가 당신의 목숨을 빼앗아, 당신에게 모인 모든 유다 사람이 흩어지고 유다에 남은 자들이 망하게 하겠습니까?"
16 But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said to Johanan the son of Kareah, “ You shall not do this thing, for you speak falsely of Ishmael.”But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said unto Johanan the son of Kareah, Thou shalt not do this thing; for thou speakest falsely of Ishmael.그러나 아히감의 아들 그달리야가 가레아의 아들 요하난에게 말했다. "이 일을 하지 마시오. 당신이 이스마엘에 대하여 거짓을 말하고 있소."
