(유다 왕 시드기야 제구년 열째 달에 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 자기의 온 군대를 거느리고 예루살렘으로 쳐들어와 그 성을 에워쌌고,

3 All the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate: Nergal Sharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim the Rabsaris, Nergal Sharezer the Rabmag, with all the rest of the princes of the king of Babylon.that all the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate, to wit, Nergal-sharezer, Samgar-nebo, Sarsechim, Rab-saris, Nergal-sharezer, Rab-mag, with all the rest of the princes of the king of Babylon.그러자 바벨론 왕의 모든 고관들이 들어와 중간 문에 앉았으니, 곧 네르갈사레셀과 삼갈느보와 사르스김과 랍사리스와 네르갈사레셀과 랍막과 바벨론 왕의 나머지 모든 고관들이었다.

6 Then the king of Babylon killed Zedekiah’s sons in Riblah before his eyes. The king of Babylon also killed all the nobles of Judah.Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah before his eyes: also the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Judah.바벨론 왕은 시드기야의 아들들을 리블라에서 그가 보는 앞에서 죽였고, 또 유다의 모든 귀족들도 죽였다.

8 The Chaldeans burned the king’s house and the people’s houses with fire and broke down the walls of Jerusalem.And the Chaldeans burned the king’s house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and brake down the walls of Jerusalem.갈대아 사람들은 왕궁과 백성들의 집을 불로 태우고 예루살렘 성벽을 헐어 버렸다.
9 Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the rest of the people who remained in the city, the deserters also who fell away to him, and the rest of the people who remained.Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the residue of the people that remained in the city, the deserters also that fell away to him, and the residue of the people that remained.그때 경호대장 느부사라단은 성안에 남아 있던 남은 백성과 자기에게 항복하여 넘어온 자들과 그 밖에 남아 있던 백성을 바벨론으로 사로잡아 갔다.

11 Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon commanded Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard concerning Jeremiah, saying,Now Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon gave charge concerning Jeremiah to Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, saying,바벨론 왕 느부갓네살은 예레미야에 관하여 경호대장 느부사라단에게 명령하여 이렇게 말하였다.
12 “ Take him and take care of him. Do him no harm; but do to him even as he tells you.”Take him, and look well to him, and do him no harm; but do unto him even as he shall say unto thee."그를 데려다가 잘 보살피고 해치지 말며, 그가 네게 말하는 대로 그에게 해 주어라."
13 So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, Nebushazban, Rabsaris, and Nergal Sharezer, Rabmag, and all the chief officers of the king of BabylonSo Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard sent, and Nebushazban, Rab-saris, and Nergal-sharezer, Rab-mag, and all the chief officers of the king of Babylon;그래서 경호대장 느부사라단과 느부사스반과 랍사리스와 네르갈사레셀과 랍막과 바벨론 왕의 모든 고관들이 사람을 보내어,
14 sent and took Jeremiah out of the court of the guard, and committed him to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, that he should bring him home. So he dwelt among the people.예레미야를 경호대 뜰에서 데려다가, 사반의 손자요 아히감의 아들인 그달리야에게 맡겨 집으로 데려가게 하였다. 그리하여 그는 백성 가운데서 살게 되었다.
15 Now Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah while he was shut up in the court of the guard, saying,Now the word of Jehovah came unto Jeremiah, while he was shut up in the court of the guard, saying,예레미야가 경호대 뜰에 갇혀 있을 때에 여호와의 말씀이 그에게 임하여 이르셨다.
16 “ Go, and speak to Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, ‘ Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: “ Behold, I will bring my words on this city for evil, and not for good; and they will be accomplished before you in that day.Go, and speak to Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring my words upon this city for evil, and not for good; and they shall be accomplished before thee in that day."가서 에티오피아 사람 에벳멜렉에게 말하여라. 만군의 여호와, 이스라엘의 하나님이 이렇게 말한다. 보라, 내가 이 성에 내 말대로 재앙을 내리고 복을 내리지 아니하리니, 그날에 그 일이 네 눈앞에서 이루어질 것이다.
17 But I will deliver you in that day,” says Yahweh; “ and you will not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid.But I will deliver thee in that day, saith Jehovah; and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid.그러나 그날에 내가 너를 건져 내리라. 여호와의 말이다. 네가 두려워하는 그 사람들의 손에 너를 넘기지 아니하리라.
18 For I will surely save you. You won’t fall by the sword, but you will escape with your life, because you have put your trust in me,” says Yahweh.’”For I will surely save thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee; because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith Jehovah.내가 반드시 너를 구원하리니, 네가 칼에 쓰러지지 아니하고 네 목숨을 노략물처럼 보존하리라. 이는 네가 나를 의지하였기 때문이다. 여호와의 말이다."
