2 Of Egypt: concerning the army of Pharaoh Necoh king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah.Of Egypt: concerning the army of Pharaoh-neco king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah.이집트에 관한 말씀입니다. 곧 유다 왕 요시야의 아들 여호야김 제사년에, 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 유프라테스 강 가 갈그미스에서 쳐부순 이집트 왕 바로느고의 군대에 관한 것입니다.
3 “ Prepare the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle!Prepare ye the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle.작은 방패와 큰 방패를 준비하고 싸우러 나아가라!
4 Harness the horses, and get up, you horsemen, and stand up with your helmets. Polish the spears, put on the coats of mail.Harness the horses, and get up, ye horsemen, and stand forth with your helmets; furbish the spears, put on the coats of mail.말들에게 마구를 채우라. 기병들아, 올라타라. 투구를 쓰고 대열에 서라. 창을 갈고 갑옷을 입으라.
5 Why have I seen it? They are dismayed and are turned backward. Their mighty ones are beaten down, have fled in haste, and don’t look back. Terror is on every side,” says Yahweh.Wherefore have I seen it? they are dismayed and are turned backward; and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: terror is on every side, saith Jehovah.어찌하여 내가 이런 광경을 보는가? 그들이 겁에 질려 뒤로 물러나고, 그들의 용사들은 맞아 쓰러지며, 뒤도 돌아보지 않고 황급히 달아난다. 사방에 두려움이 가득하다고 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
6 “Don’t let the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape. In the north by the river Euphrates they have stumbled and fallen.Let not the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; in the north by the river Euphrates have they stumbled and fallen.발 빠른 자도 달아나지 못하고 용사도 피하지 못하리라. 북쪽 유프라테스 강 가에서 그들이 비틀거리며 쓰러졌다.
7 “ Who is this who rises up like the Nile, like rivers whose waters surge?Who is this that riseth up like the Nile, whose waters toss themselves like the rivers?나일 강처럼 솟아오르며 강물처럼 출렁이는 이것은 누구인가?
8 Egypt rises up like the Nile, like rivers whose waters surge. He says, ‘ I will rise up. I will cover the earth. I will destroy cities and its inhabitants.’Egypt riseth up like the Nile, and his waters toss themselves like the rivers: and he saith, I will rise up, I will cover the earth; I will destroy cities and the inhabitants thereof.이집트가 나일 강처럼 솟아오르고 그 물이 강물처럼 출렁이며 말하기를, 내가 일어나 땅을 덮으리라, 성읍들과 그 안에 사는 사람들을 멸하리라 한다.
9 Go up, you horses! Rage, you chariots! Let the mighty men go out: Cush and Put, who handle the shield; and the Ludim, who handle and bend the bow.Go up, ye horses; and rage, ye chariots; and let the mighty men go forth: Cush and Put, that handle the shield; and the Ludim, that handle and bend the bow.말들아, 올라가라. 병거들아, 미친 듯이 달리라. 용사들아, 나아가라. 방패를 잡은 구스와 붓 사람들이여, 활을 다루며 당기는 룻 사람들이여.
10 For that day is of the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge himself of his adversaries. The sword will devour and be satiated, and will drink its fill of their blood; for the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, has a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.For that day is a day of the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour and be satiate, and shall drink its fill of their blood; for the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.그날은 주 만군의 여호와의 날이요, 그분이 원수들에게 복수하시는 보응의 날이다. 칼이 삼켜 배부르고 그들의 피를 마음껏 마시리라. 이는 주 만군의 여호와께서 북쪽 땅 유프라테스 강 가에서 희생 제사를 드리시기 때문이다.
11 Go up into Gilead, and take balm, virgin daughter of Egypt. You use many medicines in vain. There is no healing for you.Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin daughter of Egypt: in vain dost thou use many medicines; there is no healing for thee.처녀 딸 이집트야, 길르앗으로 올라가 향유를 구하라. 그러나 네가 아무리 많은 약을 써도 헛될 뿐, 너에게는 나을 길이 없다.
12 The nations have heard of your shame, and the earth is full of your cry; for the mighty man has stumbled against the mighty, they both fall together.”The nations have heard of thy shame, and the earth is full of thy cry; for the mighty man hath stumbled against the mighty, they are fallen both of them together.여러 민족이 네 수치를 들었고 네 부르짖음이 온 땅에 가득하다. 용사가 용사에게 걸려 비틀거리고 둘이 함께 쓰러졌기 때문이다.
13 The word that Yahweh spoke to Jeremiah the prophet, how that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon should come and strike the land of Egypt:The word that Jehovah spake to Jeremiah the prophet, how that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon should come and smite the land of Egypt.바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 와서 이집트 땅을 치리라는 것에 관하여, 여호와께서 선지자 예레미야에게 하신 말씀입니다.
14 “ Declare in Egypt, publish in Migdol, and publish in Memphis and in Tahpanhes; say, ‘ Stand up, and prepare, for the sword has devoured around you.’Declare ye in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Memphis and in Tahpanhes: say ye, Stand forth, and prepare thee; for the sword hath devoured round about thee.이집트에 선포하고 믹돌에 알리며 멤피스와 다바네스에 알려 말하라. 너는 일어서서 준비하라. 칼이 네 주위를 삼켰다.
15 Why are your strong ones swept away? They didn’t stand, because Yahweh pushed them.Why are thy strong ones swept away? they stood not, because Jehovah did drive them.어찌하여 네 강한 자들이 휩쓸려 갔느냐? 그들이 서지 못한 것은 여호와께서 그들을 밀어내셨기 때문이다.
16 He made many to stumble. Yes, they fell on one another. They said, ‘ Arise! Let’s go again to our own people, and to the land of our birth, from the oppressing sword.’He made many to stumble, yea, they fell one upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.그분이 많은 자를 비틀거리게 하시니, 그들이 서로 겹쳐 쓰러졌다. 그들이 말하기를, 일어나 우리 동족에게로, 우리가 태어난 땅으로 돌아가자, 압제하는 칼을 피하여 가자 하였다.
17 They cried there, ‘ Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he has let the appointed time pass by.’They cried there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he hath let the appointed time pass by.그들이 거기서 외치기를, 이집트 왕 바로는 떠들기만 하는 자다, 정해진 때를 놓쳐 버렸다 하였다.
18 “ As I live,” says the King, whose name is Yahweh of Armies, “ surely like Tabor among the mountains, and like Carmel by the sea, so he will come.As I live, saith the King, whose name is Jehovah of hosts, surely like Tabor among the mountains, and like Carmel by the sea, so shall he come.그 이름이 만군의 여호와이신 왕께서 말씀하신다. 내가 살아 있음을 두고 맹세하노니, 진실로 그가 산들 가운데 다볼 같이, 바닷가의 갈멜 같이 오리라.
19 You daughter who dwells in Egypt, furnish yourself to go into captivity; for Memphis will become a desolation, and will be burned up, without inhabitant.O thou daughter that dwellest in Egypt, furnish thyself to go into captivity; for Memphis shall become a desolation, and shall be burnt up, without inhabitant.이집트에 사는 딸아, 사로잡혀 갈 짐을 챙기라. 멤피스가 황폐하게 되고 불타 버려 사는 사람이 없으리라.
20 “ Egypt is a very beautiful heifer; but destruction out of the north has come. It has come.Egypt is a very fair heifer; but destruction out of the north is come, it is come.이집트는 아름다운 암송아지지만, 북쪽에서 멸망이 닥쳐온다, 닥쳐온다.
21 Also her hired men in the middle of her are like calves of the stall, for they also are turned back. They have fled away together. They didn’t stand, for the day of their calamity has come on them, the time of their visitation.Also her hired men in the midst of her are like calves of the stall; for they also are turned back, they are fled away together, they did not stand: for the day of their calamity is come upon them, the time of their visitation.그 안에 있는 고용된 군사들도 외양간의 살진 송아지 같다. 그들 또한 등을 돌려 함께 달아나고 서지 못하니, 그들의 재앙의 날, 그들이 벌받을 때가 닥쳤기 때문이다.
22 Its sound will go like the serpent, for they will march with an army, and come against her with axes, as wood cutters.The sound thereof shall go like the serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.이집트가 달아나는 소리는 뱀이 기어가는 소리 같으리니, 적군이 무리 지어 진군하며 나무꾼처럼 도끼를 들고 그를 치러 올 것이기 때문이다.
23 They will cut down her forest,” says Yahweh, “ though it can’t be searched; because they are more than the locusts, and are innumerable.They shall cut down her forest, saith Jehovah, though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the locusts, and are innumerable.비록 그 숲을 다 헤아릴 수 없을지라도 그들이 그 숲을 베어 넘기리라고 여호와께서 말씀하신다. 그들은 메뚜기보다 많아 셀 수 없기 때문이다.
24 The daughter of Egypt will be disappointed; she will be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.”The daughter of Egypt shall be put to shame; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.딸 이집트가 수치를 당하고 북쪽 백성의 손에 넘겨지리라.
25 Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: “ Behold, I will punish Amon of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with her gods and her kings, even Pharaoh, and those who trust in him.Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, saith: Behold, I will punish Amon of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with her gods, and her kings; even Pharaoh, and them that trust in him:만군의 여호와, 이스라엘의 하나님께서 말씀하신다. 보라, 내가 노의 아몬과 바로와 이집트와 그 신들과 그 왕들을 벌하고, 바로와 그를 의지하는 자들을 벌하리라.
26 I will deliver them into the hand of those who seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants. Afterwards it will be inhabited, as in the days of old,” says Yahweh.and I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants; and afterwards it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, saith Jehovah.내가 그들의 목숨을 노리는 자들의 손에, 곧 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살의 손과 그 신하들의 손에 그들을 넘기리라. 그 후에는 옛날처럼 그 땅에 다시 사람이 살게 되리라고 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
27 “ But don’t you be afraid, Jacob my servant. Don’t be dismayed, Israel; for, behold, I will save you from afar, and your offspring from the land of their captivity. Jacob will return, and will be quiet and at ease. No one will make him afraid.But fear not thou, O Jacob my servant, neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.그러나 내 종 야곱아, 너는 두려워하지 말라. 이스라엘아, 놀라지 말라. 보라, 내가 너를 먼 곳에서 구원하고 네 자손을 사로잡혀 간 땅에서 구원하리니, 야곱이 돌아와 평안하고 안락하게 지내며 아무도 그를 두렵게 하지 못하리라.
28 Don’t be afraid, O Jacob my servant,” says Yahweh, “ for I am with you; for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have driven you, but I will not make a full end of you, but I will correct you in measure, and will in no way leave you unpunished.”Fear not thou, O Jacob my servant, saith Jehovah; for I am with thee: for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee; but I will not make a full end of thee, but I will correct thee in measure, and will in no wise leave thee unpunished.내 종 야곱아, 두려워하지 말라고 여호와께서 말씀하신다. 내가 너와 함께 있기 때문이다. 내가 너를 흩어 보낸 모든 민족은 진멸하겠으나 너는 진멸하지 않으리라. 다만 내가 너를 공의로 징계하고 결코 벌하지 않은 채로 두지는 않으리라.
