1 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar.The word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.유다 왕 시드기야 제십 년에 여호와께서 예레미야에게 주신 말씀인데, 그해는 느부갓네살 제십팔 년이었다.
2 Now at that time the king of Babylon’s army was besieging Jerusalem. Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the guard, which was in the king of Judah’s house.Now at that time the king of Babylon’s army was besieging Jerusalem; and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the guard, which was in the king of Judah’s house.그때에 바벨론 왕의 군대가 예루살렘을 에워싸고 있었고, 예언자 예레미야는 유다 왕의 궁궐 안에 있는 경비대 뜰에 갇혀 있었다.
3 For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, “ Why do you prophesy, and say, ‘ Yahweh says, “ Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will take it;For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;유다 왕 시드기야가 그를 가두며 이렇게 말했기 때문이다. "어찌하여 네가 예언하며 '여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. 보라, 내가 이 성을 바벨론 왕의 손에 넘겨주리니 그가 이를 함락하리라.
4 and Zedekiah king of Judah won’t escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but will surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and will speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes will see his eyes;and Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes;유다 왕 시드기야는 갈대아 사람들의 손에서 벗어나지 못하고 반드시 바벨론 왕의 손에 넘겨져, 그와 얼굴을 마주하고 말하며, 그의 눈으로 바벨론 왕의 눈을 보게 되리라.
5 and he will bring Zedekiah to Babylon, and he will be there until I visit him,” says Yahweh, “ though you fight with the Chaldeans, you will not prosper”’?”and he shall bring Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith Jehovah: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper?그가 시드기야를 바벨론으로 끌고 가리니, 시드기야는 내가 그를 돌아볼 때까지 거기 있으리라. 여호와의 말씀이다. 너희가 갈대아 사람들과 싸울지라도 형통하지 못하리라'고 하느냐?"
6 Jeremiah said, “ Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,And Jeremiah said, The word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,예레미야가 말했다. 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 이르셨다.
7 ‘ Behold, Hanamel the son of Shallum your uncle will come to you, saying, “ Buy my field that is in Anathoth; for the right of redemption is yours to buy it.”’”Behold, Hanamel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee, saying, Buy thee my field that is in Anathoth; for the right of redemption is thine to buy it."보라, 네 삼촌 살룸의 아들 하나멜이 네게 와서 '아나돗에 있는 내 밭을 사라. 그것을 무를 권리가 네게 있다'고 하리라."
8 “ So Hanamel my uncle’s son came to me in the court of the guard according to Yahweh’s word, and said to me, ‘ Please buy my field that is in Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin; for the right of inheritance is yours, and the redemption is yours. Buy it for yourself.’ “ Then I knew that this was Yahweh’s word.So Hanamel mine uncle’s son came to me in the court of the guard according to the word of Jehovah, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin; for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of Jehovah.그래서 여호와의 말씀대로 내 삼촌의 아들 하나멜이 경비대 뜰로 내게 와서 말했다. "베냐민 땅 아나돗에 있는 내 밭을 사 주십시오. 상속할 권리가 당신에게 있고 무를 권리도 당신에게 있으니, 당신을 위해 그것을 사십시오." 그제야 나는 이것이 여호와의 말씀인 줄 알았다.
9 I bought the field that was in Anathoth of Hanamel my uncle’s son, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver.And I bought the field that was in Anathoth of Hanamel mine uncle’s son, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver.그래서 나는 내 삼촌의 아들 하나멜에게서 아나돗에 있는 그 밭을 사고, 은 열일곱 세겔을 달아 그에게 주었다.
10 I signed the deed, sealed it, called witnesses, and weighed the money in the balances to him.And I subscribed the deed, and sealed it, and called witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances.나는 증서에 서명하고 봉인한 뒤 증인들을 세우고, 저울로 그 돈을 달아 그에게 주었다.
11 So I took the deed of the purchase, both that which was sealed, containing the terms and conditions, and that which was open;So I took the deed of the purchase, both that which was sealed, according to the law and custom, and that which was open:나는 매매 증서, 곧 규정과 조건이 담겨 봉인된 것과 봉인하지 않은 것을 함께 가지고서,
12 and I delivered the deed of the purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, in the presence of Hanamel my uncle’s son, and in the presence of the witnesses who signed the deed of the purchase, before all the Jews who sat in the court of the guard.and I delivered the deed of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, in the presence of Hanamel mine uncle’s son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the deed of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the guard.내 삼촌의 아들 하나멜과 그 매매 증서에 서명한 증인들, 그리고 경비대 뜰에 앉아 있던 모든 유다 사람이 보는 앞에서, 그 매매 증서를 마세야의 손자요 네리야의 아들인 바룩에게 건넸다.
13 “ I commanded Baruch before them, saying,And I charged Baruch before them, saying,나는 그들 앞에서 바룩에게 명하여 말했다.
14 Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘ Take these deeds, this deed of the purchase which is sealed, and this deed which is open, and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may last many days.’Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Take these deeds, this deed of the purchase which is sealed, and this deed which is open, and put them in an earthen vessel; that they may continue many days."만군의 여호와, 이스라엘의 하나님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. 이 증서들, 곧 봉인된 매매 증서와 봉인하지 않은 증서를 가져다가 토기에 담아 오래 보존되게 하라.
15 For Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says: ‘ Houses and fields and vineyards will yet again be bought in this land.’For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Houses and fields and vineyards shall yet again be bought in this land.만군의 여호와, 이스라엘의 하나님께서 이렇게 말씀하시기 때문이다. 사람들이 이 땅에서 다시 집과 밭과 포도원을 사게 되리라."
16 Now after I had delivered the deed of the purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed to Yahweh, saying,Now after I had delivered the deed of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed unto Jehovah, saying,내가 그 매매 증서를 네리야의 아들 바룩에게 건넨 뒤, 여호와께 기도하며 말했다.
17 “Ah Lord Yahweh! Behold, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for you.Ah Lord Jehovah! behold, thou hast made the heavens and the earth by thy great power and by thine outstretched arm; there is nothing too hard for thee,"아, 주 여호와여! 보소서, 주께서 큰 능력과 펴신 팔로 하늘과 땅을 지으셨으니, 주께 너무 어려운 일이 없나이다.
18 You show loving kindness to thousands, and repay the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them. The great, the mighty God, Yahweh of Armies is your name:who showest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them; the great, the mighty God, Jehovah of hosts is his name;주께서는 수천 대에 이르도록 인자를 베푸시고, 아버지들의 죄악을 그 뒤를 잇는 자손의 품에 갚으시는 분, 크고 능하신 하나님이시니, 그 이름은 만군의 여호와이십니다.
19 great in counsel, and mighty in work; whose eyes are open to all the ways of the children of men, to give everyone according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings;great in counsel, and mighty in work; whose eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men, to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings;주는 계획에 위대하시고 행하심에 능하시며, 그 눈은 사람의 모든 길을 살피시어, 각 사람에게 그 행위대로, 그 행실의 열매대로 갚으시는 분이십니다.
20 who performed signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even to this day, both in Israel and among other men; and made yourself a name, as it is today;who didst set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, both in Israel and among other men; and madest thee a name, as at this day;주께서는 이집트 땅에서 표적과 기사를 행하셨고, 오늘날까지 이스라엘과 다른 사람들 가운데서도 그렇게 하셔서, 오늘과 같이 주의 이름을 떨치셨습니다.
21 and brought your people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, with wonders, with a strong hand, with an outstretched arm, and with great terror;and didst bring forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terror;주께서는 표적과 기사로, 강한 손과 펴신 팔로, 큰 두려움으로 주의 백성 이스라엘을 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 내셨습니다.
22 and gave them this land, which you swore to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey.and gavest them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;그리고 주께서 그들의 조상에게 주리라고 맹세하신 이 땅, 곧 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅을 그들에게 주셨습니다.
23 They came in and possessed it, but they didn’t obey your voice and didn’t walk in your law. They have done nothing of all that you commanded them to do. Therefore you have caused all this evil to come upon them.and they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them.그들이 들어가 그 땅을 차지했으나, 주의 목소리에 순종하지 않고 주의 율법대로 행하지 않았으며, 주께서 행하라 명하신 그 모든 것을 하나도 행하지 않았습니다. 그러므로 주께서 이 모든 재앙이 그들에게 닥치게 하셨습니다.
24 “ Behold, siege ramps have been built against the city to take it. The city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans who fight against it, because of the sword, of the famine, and of the pestilence. What you have spoken has happened. Behold, you see it.Behold, the mounds, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence; and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.보소서, 토성이 이 성을 함락하려고 밀어닥쳤고, 칼과 기근과 전염병 때문에 이 성이 그것을 치는 갈대아 사람들의 손에 넘겨졌습니다. 주께서 말씀하신 대로 이루어졌으니, 보소서, 주께서 친히 보고 계십니다.
25 You have said to me, Lord Yahweh, ‘ Buy the field for money, and call witnesses;’ whereas the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.”And thou hast said unto me, O Lord Jehovah, Buy thee the field for money, and call witnesses; whereas the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.그런데도 주 여호와여, 주께서 제게 '돈을 주고 밭을 사며 증인들을 세우라' 하셨습니다. 이 성이 갈대아 사람들의 손에 넘겨지고 있는데도 말입니다."
26 Then Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah, saying,Then came the word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah, saying,그때에 여호와의 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하여 이르셨다.
27 “ Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?Behold, I am Jehovah, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?"보라, 나는 모든 육체의 하나님 여호와다. 내게 어려운 일이 있겠느냐?
28 Therefore Yahweh says: Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he will take it.Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it:그러므로 여호와가 이렇게 말한다. 보라, 내가 이 성을 갈대아 사람들의 손과 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살의 손에 넘겨주리니 그가 이를 함락하리라.
29 The Chaldeans, who fight against this city, will come and set this city on fire, and burn it with the houses on whose roofs they have offered incense to Baal, and poured out drink offerings to other gods, to provoke me to anger.and the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set this city on fire, and burn it, with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense unto Baal, and poured out drink-offerings unto other gods, to provoke me to anger.이 성을 치는 갈대아 사람들이 와서 이 성에 불을 놓아 태우리니, 사람들이 그 지붕 위에서 바알에게 분향하고 다른 신들에게 전제를 부어 나를 노하게 한 그 집들도 함께 태우리라.
30 “ For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have done only that which was evil in my sight from their youth; for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, says Yahweh.For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have done only that which was evil in my sight from their youth; for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith Jehovah.이스라엘 자손과 유다 자손이 어려서부터 내 눈앞에서 오직 악만 행하였고, 이스라엘 자손은 그 손으로 만든 것으로 오직 나를 노하게만 하였다. 여호와의 말씀이다.
31 For this city has been to me a provocation of my anger and of my wrath from the day that they built it even to this day, so that I should remove it from before my face,For this city hath been to me a provocation of mine anger and of my wrath from the day that they built it even unto this day; that I should remove it from before my face,이 성이 세워진 날부터 오늘에 이르기까지, 이 성은 내 분노와 진노를 일으켜 내 얼굴 앞에서 그것을 치워 버리게 할 만큼 되었다.
32 because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger — they, their kings, their princes, their priests, their prophets, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.이는 이스라엘 자손과 유다 자손, 곧 그들과 그들의 왕들과 고관들과 제사장들과 선지자들과 유다 사람들과 예루살렘 주민들이 나를 노하게 하려고 행한 모든 악 때문이다.
33 They have turned their backs to me, and not their faces. Although I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not listened to receive instruction.And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: and though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.그들은 내게 등을 돌리고 얼굴을 향하지 않았으며, 내가 그들을 거듭 부지런히 가르쳤으나 교훈을 받으려고 듣지 않았다.
34 But they set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.But they set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.오히려 그들은 내 이름으로 일컫는 그 집에 가증한 것들을 두어 그곳을 더럽혔다.
35 They built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through fire to Molech, which I didn’t command them. It didn’t even come into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.”And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.그들은 힌놈의 아들 골짜기에 바알의 산당을 세우고, 자기 아들딸들을 불 가운데로 지나가게 하여 몰렉에게 바쳤다. 그러나 나는 그런 가증한 일을 행하여 유다로 죄를 짓게 하라고 명한 적이 없으며, 그것은 내 마음에 떠오른 적도 없다.
36 Now therefore Yahweh, the God of Israel, says concerning this city, about which you say, “ It is given into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence:”And now therefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof ye say, It is given into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence:그러므로 이제 너희가 '이 성이 칼과 기근과 전염병으로 바벨론 왕의 손에 넘겨졌다'고 말하는 이 성에 관하여 여호와, 이스라엘의 하나님이 이렇게 말한다.
37 “ Behold, I will gather them out of all the countries where I have driven them in my anger, and in my wrath, and in great indignation; and I will bring them again to this place. I will cause them to dwell safely.Behold, I will gather them out of all the countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my wrath, and in great indignation; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely.보라, 내가 분노와 진노와 큰 격분 가운데 그들을 쫓아 보냈던 모든 나라에서 그들을 모아, 이곳으로 다시 데려와 안전히 거하게 하리라.
38 Then they will be my people, and I will be their God.And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:그들은 내 백성이 되고 나는 그들의 하나님이 되리라.
39 I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me forever, for their good and the good of their children after them.and I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:내가 그들에게 한 마음과 한 길을 주어, 그들과 그 뒤를 잇는 자손의 복을 위하여 언제나 나를 경외하게 하리라.
40 I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from following them, to do them good. I will put my fear in their hearts, that they may not depart from me.and I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from following them, to do them good; and I will put my fear in their hearts, that they may not depart from me.내가 그들과 영원한 언약을 세워, 그들에게 선을 베풀기를 그치지 않으며, 내 경외함을 그들의 마음에 두어 그들이 나를 떠나지 않게 하리라.
41 Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.”Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.참으로 내가 그들에게 선을 베풀기를 기뻐하고, 내 온 마음과 온 영혼을 다하여 그들을 이 땅에 확실히 심으리라.
42 For Yahweh says: “ Just as I have brought all this great evil on this people, so I will bring on them all the good that I have promised them.For thus saith Jehovah: Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.여호와가 이렇게 말한다. 내가 이 백성에게 이 모든 큰 재앙을 내린 것같이, 그들에게 약속한 모든 복도 그들에게 내리리라.
43 Fields will be bought in this land, about which you say, ‘ It is desolate, without man or animal. It is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.’And fields shall be bought in this land, whereof ye say, It is desolate, without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.너희가 '사람도 짐승도 없이 황폐하여 갈대아 사람들의 손에 넘겨졌다'고 말하는 이 땅에서 사람들이 밭을 사게 되리라.
44 Men will buy fields for money, sign the deeds, seal them, and call witnesses, in the land of Benjamin, and in the places around Jerusalem, in the cities of Judah, in the cities of the hill country, in the cities of the lowland, and in the cities of the South; for I will cause their captivity to be reversed,” says Yahweh.Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe the deeds, and seal them, and call witnesses, in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the hill-country, and in the cities of the lowland, and in the cities of the South: for I will cause their captivity to return, saith Jehovah.베냐민 땅과 예루살렘 주변과 유다의 성읍들과 산지의 성읍들과 평지의 성읍들과 남방의 성읍들에서, 사람들이 돈으로 밭을 사고 증서에 서명하며 봉인하고 증인들을 세우리라. 내가 그들의 사로잡힘을 돌이키리라. 여호와의 말씀이다.
