1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews who lived in the land of Egypt, who lived at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Memphis, and in the country of Pathros, saying,The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews that dwelt in the land of Egypt, that dwelt at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Memphis, and in the country of Pathros, saying,이집트 땅에 사는 모든 유다 사람, 곧 믹돌과 다바네스와 멤피스와 바드로스 지방에 사는 이들에 관하여 예레미야에게 임한 말씀입니다.
2 “ Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘ You have seen all the evil that I have brought on Jerusalem, and on all the cities of Judah. Behold, today they are a desolation, and no man dwells in them,Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwelleth therein,만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님께서 이렇게 말씀하십니다. "내가 예루살렘과 유다의 모든 성읍에 내린 모든 재앙을 너희가 보았다. 보아라, 오늘날 그곳들은 황폐하게 되어 그 안에 사는 사람이 아무도 없다.
3 because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, to serve other gods that they didn’t know, neither they, nor you, nor your fathers.because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to serve other gods, that they knew not, neither they, nor ye, nor your fathers.이는 그들이 저지른 악함 때문이니, 그들이 자기들도, 너희도, 너희 조상들도 알지 못하던 다른 신들에게 분향하고 섬기려고 나아가 나를 노하게 한 까닭이다.
4 However I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, “ Oh, don’t do this abominable thing that I hate.”Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.그러나 내가 나의 모든 종 선지자들을 너희에게 부지런히 보내며 '오, 내가 미워하는 이 가증한 일을 행하지 말라'고 거듭 일렀다.
5 But they didn’t listen and didn’t incline their ear. They didn’t turn from their wickedness, to stop burning incense to other gods.But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods.그런데도 그들은 듣지 않았고 귀를 기울이지도 않아, 다른 신들에게 분향하지 않도록 자기 악함에서 돌이키지 않았다.
6 Therefore my wrath and my anger was poured out, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as it is today.’Wherefore my wrath and mine anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as it is this day.그러므로 내 진노와 분노가 쏟아져 유다의 성읍들과 예루살렘의 거리에 불붙듯 임하였으니, 오늘날과 같이 그것들이 폐허가 되고 황무하게 되었다.
7 “ Therefore now Yahweh, the God of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘ Why do you commit great evil against your own souls, to cut off from yourselves man and woman, infant and nursing child out of the middle of Judah, to leave yourselves no one remaining,Therefore now thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: Wherefore commit ye this great evil against your own souls, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and suckling, out of the midst of Judah, to leave you none remaining;그러므로 이제 만군의 하나님, 이스라엘의 하나님이신 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하십니다. 너희가 어찌하여 너희 스스로에게 이 큰 악을 저질러, 유다 가운데서 남자와 여자, 어린아이와 젖먹이를 끊어 내어 너희에게 남은 자가 하나도 없게 하려 하느냐?
8 in that you provoke me to anger with the works of your hands, burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt where you have gone to live, that you may be cut off, and that you may be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?in that ye provoke me unto anger with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye are gone to sojourn; that ye may be cut off, and that ye may be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?어찌하여 너희가 살려고 들어간 이집트 땅에서 다른 신들에게 분향하여 너희 손으로 한 일로 나를 노하게 하여, 너희가 끊어지고 땅의 모든 민족 가운데서 저주와 모욕거리가 되려 하느냐?
9 Have you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, the wickedness of the kings of Judah, the wickedness of their wives, your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives which they committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?Have ye forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem?너희가 유다 땅과 예루살렘 거리에서 저지른 너희 조상들의 악함과 유다 왕들의 악함과 그 아내들의 악함과 너희 자신의 악함과 너희 아내들의 악함을 잊었느냐?
10 They are not humbled even to this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.’They are not humbled even unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.그들은 오늘까지도 겸손해지지 않았고, 두려워하지도 않았으며, 내가 너희와 너희 조상들 앞에 둔 내 율법과 내 규례를 따라 행하지도 않았다.
11 “ Therefore Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘ Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, even to cut off all Judah.Therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, even to cut off all Judah.그러므로 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님께서 이렇게 말씀하십니다. 보아라, 내가 너희에게 재앙을 내리려고 나의 얼굴을 너희에게로 향하여 온 유다를 끊으리라.
12 I will take the remnant of Judah that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to live there, and they will all be consumed. They will fall in the land of Egypt. They will be consumed by the sword and by the famine. They will die, from the least even to the greatest, by the sword and by the famine. They will be an object of horror, an astonishment, a curse, and a reproach.And I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed; in the land of Egypt shall they fall; they shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine; they shall die, from the least even unto the greatest, by the sword and by the famine; and they shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.이집트 땅에 들어가 거기서 살려고 결심한 유다의 남은 자들을 내가 잡으리니, 그들이 다 멸망할 것이다. 이집트 땅에서 그들이 쓰러질 것이며 칼과 기근으로 멸망할 것이다. 가장 작은 자로부터 가장 큰 자에 이르기까지 칼과 기근으로 죽어, 두려움의 대상과 놀람과 저주와 모욕거리가 될 것이다.
13 For I will punish those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence;For I will punish them that dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence;내가 예루살렘을 칼과 기근과 전염병으로 벌한 것처럼 이집트 땅에 사는 자들도 벌하리라.
14 so that none of the remnant of Judah, who have gone into the land of Egypt to live there, will escape or be left to return into the land of Judah, to which they have a desire to return to dwell there; for no one will return except those who will escape.’”so that none of the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape or be left, to return into the land of Judah, to which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return save such as shall escape.그래서 이집트 땅에 들어가 거기서 살려고 한 유다의 남은 자 가운데, 그들이 돌아가 살기를 바라는 유다 땅으로 돌아갈 자가 하나도 피하거나 남지 못하리라. 피하는 몇 사람 외에는 아무도 돌아가지 못할 것이다."
15 Then all the men who knew that their wives burned incense to other gods, and all the women who stood by, a great assembly, even all the people who lived in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,Then all the men who knew that their wives burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great assembly, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,그러자 자기 아내들이 다른 신들에게 분향하는 것을 아는 모든 남자와 곁에 서 있던 모든 여자, 곧 큰 무리와 이집트 땅 바드로스에 사는 온 백성이 예레미야에게 대답하여 말했습니다.
16 “ As for the word that you have spoken to us in Yahweh’s name, we will not listen to you.As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of Jehovah, we will not hearken unto thee."당신이 여호와의 이름으로 우리에게 한 말은 우리가 듣지 않겠소.
17 But we will certainly perform every word that has gone out of our mouth, to burn incense to the queen of the sky and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then we had plenty of food, and were well, and saw no evil.But we will certainly perform every word that is gone forth out of our mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink-offerings unto her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.우리는 우리 입에서 나온 모든 말을 반드시 행하여, 하늘의 여왕에게 분향하고 그에게 부어 드리는 제사를 드리겠소. 우리와 우리 조상들과 우리 왕들과 고관들이 유다 성읍들과 예루살렘 거리에서 하던 그대로 하겠소. 그때에는 우리에게 양식이 넉넉하였고 잘 지냈으며 재앙을 보지 않았소.
18 But since we stopped burning incense to the queen of the sky, and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.”But since we left off burning incense to the queen of heaven, and pouring out drink-offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.그러나 우리가 하늘의 여왕에게 분향하기와 그에게 부어 드리는 제사 드리기를 그만둔 뒤로는, 모든 것이 궁핍해졌고 칼과 기근으로 망하게 되었소.
19 The women said, “ When we burned incense to the queen of the sky and poured out drink offerings to her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings to her, without our husbands?”And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink-offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink-offerings unto her, without our husbands?우리가 하늘의 여왕에게 분향하고 그에게 부어 드리는 제사를 드릴 때에, 우리가 그를 섬기려고 그의 형상을 본뜬 과자를 만들고 그에게 부어 드리는 제사를 드린 것을 어찌 우리 남편들 모르게 하였겠소?"
20 Then Jeremiah said to all the people — to the men and to the women, even to all the people who had given him an answer, saying,Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, even to all the people that had given him that answer, saying,그러자 예레미야가 모든 백성, 곧 남자와 여자와 자기에게 대답한 모든 백성에게 말했습니다.
21 “ The incense that you burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, you and your fathers, your kings and your princes, and the people of the land, didn’t Yahweh remember them, and didn’t it come into his mind?The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye and your fathers, your kings and your princes, and the people of the land, did not Jehovah remember them, and came it not into his mind?"너희와 너희 조상들과 너희 왕들과 고관들과 그 땅 백성이 유다 성읍들과 예루살렘 거리에서 분향한 그 향을 여호와께서 기억하지 않으셨겠느냐? 그것이 그분의 마음에 떠오르지 않았겠느냐?
22 Thus Yahweh could no longer bear it, because of the evil of your doings and because of the abominations which you have committed. Therefore your land has become a desolation, an astonishment, and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is today.so that Jehovah could not longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land become a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day.너희 행위의 악함과 너희가 저지른 가증한 일들 때문에 여호와께서 더 이상 참으실 수 없게 되셨으니, 그러므로 오늘날과 같이 너희 땅이 황폐와 놀람과 저주가 되어 사는 사람이 없게 되었다.
23 Because you have burned incense and because you have sinned against Yahweh, and have not obeyed Yahweh’s voice, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil has happened to you, as it is today.”Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against Jehovah, and have not obeyed the voice of Jehovah, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as it is this day.너희가 분향하였고 여호와께 죄를 지었으며 여호와의 음성에 순종하지 않았고 그분의 율법과 규례와 증거를 따라 행하지 않았기 때문에, 오늘날과 같이 이 재앙이 너희에게 임한 것이다."
24 Moreover Jeremiah said to all the people, including all the women, “ Hear Yahweh’s word, all Judah who are in the land of Egypt!Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of Jehovah, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt:예레미야가 또 모든 백성과 모든 여자에게 말했습니다. "이집트 땅에 있는 온 유다야, 여호와의 말씀을 들으라.
25 Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says, ‘ You and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and with your hands have fulfilled it, saying, “ We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of the sky, and to pour out drink offerings to her.” “‘ Establish then your vows, and perform your vows.’Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and with your hands have fulfilled it, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink-offerings unto her: establish then your vows, and perform your vows.만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님께서 이렇게 말씀하십니다. 너희와 너희 아내들이 너희 입으로 말하고 너희 손으로 이루어, '우리가 서원한 서원을 반드시 이행하여 하늘의 여왕에게 분향하고 그에게 부어 드리는 제사를 드리겠다'고 하였으니, 그러면 너희 서원을 굳게 세워 너희 서원을 이행하여라.
26 “ Therefore hear Yahweh’s word, all Judah who dwell in the land of Egypt: ‘ Behold, I have sworn by my great name,’ says Yahweh, ‘ that my name will no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, “ As the Lord Yahweh lives.”Therefore hear ye the word of Jehovah, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt: Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith Jehovah, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, As the Lord Jehovah liveth.그러므로 이집트 땅에 사는 온 유다야, 여호와의 말씀을 들으라. 보아라, 내가 나의 큰 이름으로 맹세하였으니, 여호와께서 말씀하신다. 이집트 온 땅에서 유다 사람 어느 누구도 다시는 그 입으로 '주 여호와께서 살아 계심을 두고'라며 내 이름을 부르지 못하리라.
27 Behold, I watch over them for evil, and not for good; and all the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt will be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until they are all gone.Behold, I watch over them for evil, and not for good; and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.보아라, 내가 그들에게 재앙을 주려고 지켜보며 복을 주려 하지 않으리니, 이집트 땅에 있는 유다 사람들이 다 멸망하기까지 칼과 기근으로 망하리라.
28 Those who escape the sword will return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah few in number. All the remnant of Judah, who have gone into the land of Egypt to live there, will know whose word will stand, mine or theirs.And they that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, few in number; and all the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose word shall stand, mine, or theirs.칼을 피한 자들이 이집트 땅에서 유다 땅으로 돌아가되 그 수가 적을 것이며, 이집트 땅에 들어가 거기서 살려고 한 유다의 모든 남은 자가 나의 말과 그들의 말 중에 누구의 말이 서는지 알게 되리라.
29 “‘ This will be the sign to you,’ says Yahweh, ‘ that I will punish you in this place, that you may know that my words will surely stand against you for evil.’And this shall be the sign unto you, saith Jehovah, that I will punish you in this place, that ye may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:여호와께서 말씀하신다. 내가 이곳에서 너희를 벌하리라는 이것이 너희에게 줄 표징이니, 너희를 향한 나의 말이 반드시 재앙으로 이루어질 것을 너희가 알게 하려는 것이다.
30 Yahweh says, ‘ Behold, I will give Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies and into the hand of those who seek his life, just as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, who was his enemy and sought his life.’”Thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will give Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of them that seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, who was his enemy, and sought his life.여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하십니다. 보아라, 내가 유다 왕 시드기야를 그의 원수, 곧 그의 목숨을 노린 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살의 손에 넘긴 것처럼, 이집트 왕 바로 호브라를 그의 원수들의 손과 그의 목숨을 노리는 자들의 손에 넘기리라."
