1 Yahweh’s word that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh struck Gaza.The word of Jehovah that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines, before that Pharaoh smote Gaza.바로가 가자를 치기 전에, 블레셋 사람들에 관하여 여호와께서 선지자 예레미야에게 하신 말씀이다.
2 Yahweh says: “ Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and will become an overflowing stream, and will overflow the land and all that is therein, the city and those who dwell therein. The men will cry, and all the inhabitants of the land will wail.Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall become an overflowing stream, and shall overflow the land and all that is therein, the city and them that dwell therein; and the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall wail.여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. 보라, 북쪽에서 물이 솟아올라 넘치는 강이 되어, 그 땅과 그 안에 있는 모든 것과 성읍과 그 안에 사는 사람들을 휩쓸어 버릴 것이다. 그러면 사람들이 부르짖고, 그 땅에 사는 모든 주민이 통곡할 것이다.
3 At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong ones, at the rushing of his chariots, at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers don’t look back for their children because their hands are so feeble,At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong ones, at the rushing of his chariots, at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers look not back to their children for feebleness of hands;그의 힘센 말발굽 소리와 병거가 달려오는 소리와 바퀴가 굴러가는 소리에, 아버지들이 손에 맥이 풀려 자기 자식들을 돌아보지도 못할 것이다.
4 because of the day that comes to destroy all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper who remains; for Yahweh will destroy the Philistines, the remnant of the isle of Caphtor.because of the day that cometh to destroy all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper that remaineth: for Jehovah will destroy the Philistines, the remnant of the isle of Caphtor.이는 모든 블레셋 사람을 멸하고, 두로와 시돈에 남아 있는 모든 협력자를 끊어 버릴 날이 이르렀기 때문이다. 여호와께서 블레셋 사람들, 곧 갑돌 섬의 남은 자들을 멸하실 것이다.
5 Baldness has come on Gaza; Ashkelon is brought to nothing. You remnant of their valley, how long will you cut yourself?Baldness is come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is brought to nought, the remnant of their valley: how long wilt thou cut thyself?가자는 대머리가 되었고, 아스글론은 그들 골짜기의 남은 자와 함께 아무것도 아닌 것이 되었다. 네가 언제까지 네 몸을 베겠느냐?
6 “‘ You sword of Yahweh, how long will it be before you are quiet? Put yourself back into your scabbard; rest, and be still.’O thou sword of Jehovah, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard; rest, and be still.여호와의 칼아, 네가 언제까지 잠잠하지 않겠느냐? 네 칼집으로 들어가 쉬고 조용히 있어라.
7 “How can you be quiet, since Yahweh has given you a command? Against Ashkelon, and against the seashore, there he has appointed it.”How canst thou be quiet, seeing Jehovah hath given thee a charge? Against Ashkelon, and against the sea-shore, there hath he appointed it.여호와께서 너에게 명령을 내리셨는데, 어찌 네가 잠잠할 수 있겠느냐? 아스글론과 해변을 치라고 그분께서 그것을 정하셨다.
