1 In the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, that this word came unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,요시야의 아들 유다 왕 여호야김 제사년에 여호와께로부터 이 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하였습니다.
2 “ Take a scroll of a book, and write in it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah even to this day.Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.너는 두루마리 책을 가져다가, 내가 너에게 말하기 시작한 날부터, 곧 요시야 시대부터 오늘까지 이스라엘과 유다와 모든 민족을 향해 너에게 일러 준 모든 말을 거기에 기록하여라.
3 It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I intend to do to them, that they may each return from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.”It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.유다 집안이 내가 그들에게 내리려고 하는 모든 재앙에 관하여 듣고서, 각 사람이 자기 악한 길에서 돌이켜, 내가 그들의 죄악과 허물을 용서할 수 있게 되기를 바란다.
4 Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all Yahweh’s words, which he had spoken to him, on a scroll of a book.Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of Jehovah, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book.그래서 예레미야가 네리야의 아들 바룩을 불렀고, 바룩은 예레미야가 입으로 불러 주는 대로 여호와께서 그에게 하신 모든 말씀을 두루마리 책에 기록했습니다.
5 Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, “ I am restricted. I can’t go into Yahweh’s house.And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I cannot go into the house of Jehovah:예레미야가 바룩에게 명하여 말했습니다. 나는 갇혀 있어서 여호와의 성전에 들어갈 수가 없다.
6 Therefore you go, and read from the scroll which you have written from my mouth, Yahweh’s words, in the ears of the people in Yahweh’s house on the fast day. Also you shall read them in the ears of all Judah who come out of their cities.therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of Jehovah in the ears of the people in Jehovah’s house upon the fast-day; and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.그러니 네가 가서, 내 입으로 불러 준 대로 네가 기록한 두루마리에 적힌 여호와의 말씀을, 금식일에 여호와의 성전에서 백성이 듣는 데서 읽어라. 또한 자기 성읍들에서 올라오는 모든 유다 사람이 듣는 데서도 그것을 읽어라.
7 It may be they will present their supplication before Yahweh, and will each return from his evil way; for Yahweh has pronounced great anger and wrath against this people.”It may be they will present their supplication before Jehovah, and will return every one from his evil way; for great is the anger and the wrath that Jehovah hath pronounced against this people.그들이 여호와 앞에 자기들의 간구를 드리고, 각 사람이 자기 악한 길에서 돌이키게 되기를 바란다. 여호와께서 이 백성을 향해 선언하신 노여움과 진노가 크기 때문이다.
8 Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book Yahweh’s words in Yahweh’s house.And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of Jehovah in Jehovah’s house.네리야의 아들 바룩은 예레미야 선지자가 명한 모든 것을 그대로 행하여, 여호와의 성전에서 그 책에 적힌 여호와의 말씀을 읽었습니다.
9 Now in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, all the people in Jerusalem and all the people who came from the cities of Judah to Jerusalem, proclaimed a fast before Yahweh.Now it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, that all the people in Jerusalem, and all the people that came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem, proclaimed a fast before Jehovah.요시야의 아들 유다 왕 여호야김 제오년 아홉째 달에, 예루살렘의 모든 백성과 유다 성읍들에서 예루살렘으로 올라온 모든 백성이 여호와 앞에 금식을 선포했습니다.
10 Then Baruch read the words of Jeremiah from the book in Yahweh’s house, in the room of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the upper court, at the entry of the new gate of Yahweh’s house, in the ears of all the people.Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of Jehovah, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the upper court, at the entry of the new gate of Jehovah’s house, in the ears of all the people.그때에 바룩은 여호와의 성전에서, 서기관 사반의 아들 그마랴의 방에서, 윗뜰 곧 여호와의 성전 새 문 어귀에서, 모든 백성이 듣는 데서 그 책에 적힌 예레미야의 말씀을 읽었습니다.
11 When Micaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard out of the book all Yahweh’s words,And when Micaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard out of the book all the words of Jehovah,사반의 손자요 그마랴의 아들인 미가야가 그 책에 적힌 여호와의 모든 말씀을 듣고서,
12 he went down into the king’s house, into the scribe’s room; and behold, all the princes were sitting there, Elishama the scribe, Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, Elnathan the son of Achbor, Gemariah the son of Shaphan, Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.he went down into the king’s house, into the scribe’s chamber: and, lo, all the princes were sitting there, to wit, Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.왕궁으로 내려가 서기관의 방으로 들어갔는데, 보십시오, 모든 고관들이 거기에 앉아 있었습니다. 곧 서기관 엘리사마와 스마야의 아들 들라야와 아그볼의 아들 엘라단과 사반의 아들 그마랴와 하나냐의 아들 시드기야와 모든 고관들이었습니다.
13 Then Micaiah declared to them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.Then Micaiah declared unto them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.미가야는 바룩이 백성이 듣는 데서 그 책을 읽을 때에 자기가 들은 모든 말을 그들에게 전했습니다.
14 Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying, “ Take in your hand the scroll in which you have read in the ears of the people, and come.” So Baruch the son of Neriah took the scroll in his hand, and came to them.Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying, Take in thy hand the roll wherein thou hast read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand, and came unto them.그러자 모든 고관들이 구시의 증손이요 셀레먀의 손자요 느다냐의 아들인 여후디를 바룩에게 보내어 말했습니다. 네가 백성이 듣는 데서 읽은 그 두루마리를 손에 들고 오너라. 그래서 네리야의 아들 바룩이 그 두루마리를 손에 들고 그들에게로 왔습니다.
15 They said to him, “ Sit down now, and read it in our hearing.” So Baruch read it in their hearing.And they said unto him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read it in their ears.그들이 그에게 말했습니다. 이제 앉아서 우리가 듣는 데서 그것을 읽어라. 그래서 바룩이 그들이 듣는 데서 읽었습니다.
16 Now when they had heard all the words, they turned in fear one toward another, and said to Baruch, “ We will surely tell the king of all these words.”Now it came to pass, when they had heard all the words, they turned in fear one toward another, and said unto Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.그들이 그 모든 말을 듣고서, 두려워하며 서로 마주 보고는 바룩에게 말했습니다. 우리가 반드시 이 모든 말을 왕께 아뢰어야 하겠다.
17 They asked Baruch, saying, “ Tell us now, how did you write all these words at his mouth?”And they asked Baruch, saying, Tell us now, How didst thou write all these words at his mouth?그들이 바룩에게 물어 말했습니다. 네가 어떻게 이 모든 말을 그의 입에서 받아 기록했는지 우리에게 말해 다오.
18 Then Baruch answered them, “ He dictated all these words to me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.”Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.그러자 바룩이 그들에게 대답했습니다. 그가 입으로 이 모든 말을 내게 불러 주었고, 나는 먹으로 그것을 책에 기록했습니다.
19 Then the princes said to Baruch, “ You and Jeremiah go hide. Don’t let anyone know where you are.”Then said the princes unto Baruch, Go, hide thee, thou and Jeremiah; and let no man know where ye are.그때에 고관들이 바룩에게 말했습니다. 너와 예레미야는 가서 숨고, 너희가 어디에 있는지 아무도 모르게 하여라.
20 They went in to the king into the court, but they had laid up the scroll in the room of Elishama the scribe. Then they told all the words in the hearing of the king.And they went in to the king into the court; but they had laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe; and they told all the words in the ears of the king.그들은 두루마리를 서기관 엘리사마의 방에 두고서, 뜰로 들어가 왕에게로 가서 그 모든 말을 왕이 듣는 데서 아뢰었습니다.
21 So the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll, and he took it out of the room of Elishama the scribe. Jehudi read it in the hearing of the king, and in the hearing of all the princes who stood beside the king.So the king sent Jehudi to fetch the roll; and he took it out of the chamber of Elishama the scribe. And Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes that stood beside the king.그러자 왕이 여후디를 보내어 그 두루마리를 가져오게 했고, 여후디는 서기관 엘리사마의 방에서 그것을 가져왔습니다. 여후디가 왕이 듣는 데서, 또 왕 곁에 서 있는 모든 고관들이 듣는 데서 그것을 읽었습니다.
22 Now the king was sitting in the winter house in the ninth month, and there was a fire in the brazier burning before him.Now the king was sitting in the winter-house in the ninth month: and there was a fire in the brazier burning before him.때는 아홉째 달이라 왕은 겨울 궁에 앉아 있었고, 그 앞에는 화로에 불이 타고 있었습니다.
23 When Jehudi had read three or four columns, the king cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was in the brazier, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the brazier.And it came to pass, when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, that the king cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was in the brazier, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was in the brazier.여후디가 서너 단을 읽을 때마다 왕이 칼로 그것을 베어 화로의 불에 던져, 마침내 두루마리 전체가 화로의 불에 타 버렸습니다.
24 The king and his servants who heard all these words were not afraid, and didn’t tear their garments.And they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words.왕도 그의 신하들도 이 모든 말을 들은 자들 가운데 누구도 두려워하지 않았고 자기 옷을 찢지도 않았습니다.
25 Moreover Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the scroll; but he would not listen to them.Moreover Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll; but he would not hear them.엘라단과 들라야와 그마랴가 왕에게 그 두루마리를 태우지 말라고 간청했으나, 왕은 그들의 말을 들으려 하지 않았습니다.
26 The king commanded Jerahmeel the king’s son, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to arrest Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet; but Yahweh hid them.And the king commanded Jerahmeel the king’s son, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet; but Jehovah hid them.왕은 왕자 여라므엘과 아스리엘의 아들 스라야와 압디엘의 아들 셀레먀에게 명하여 서기관 바룩과 선지자 예레미야를 잡아 오게 했으나, 여호와께서 그들을 숨기셨습니다.
27 Then Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah, after the king had burned the scroll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,Then the word of Jehovah came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the roll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,왕이 두루마리와 바룩이 예레미야의 입에서 받아 기록한 그 말씀을 태운 뒤에, 여호와의 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하여 말씀하셨습니다.
28 “ Take again another scroll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first scroll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah has burned.Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah hath burned.너는 다른 두루마리를 다시 가져다가, 유다 왕 여호야김이 태운 첫 두루마리에 있던 모든 이전의 말을 거기에 기록하여라.
29 Concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah you shall say, ‘ Yahweh says: “ You have burned this scroll, saying, ‘ Why have you written therein, saying, “ The king of Babylon will certainly come and destroy this land, and will cause to cease from there man and animal”?’”And concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah thou shalt say, Thus saith Jehovah: Thou hast burned this roll, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast?그리고 유다 왕 여호야김에 관하여 너는 이렇게 말하여라. 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. 네가 이 두루마리를 태우며 말하기를, 어찌하여 네가 거기에 바벨론 왕이 반드시 와서 이 땅을 멸하고 여기에서 사람과 짐승이 끊어지게 하리라고 기록하였느냐 하였다.
30 Therefore Yahweh says concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: “ He will have no one to sit on David’s throne. His dead body will be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David; and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.그러므로 유다 왕 여호야김에 관하여 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. 그에게는 다윗의 보좌에 앉을 자가 없을 것이며, 그의 시체는 낮에는 더위에, 밤에는 추위에 버려질 것이다.
31 I will punish him, his offspring, and his servants for their iniquity. I will bring on them, on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and on the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them, but they didn’t listen.”’”And I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them, but they hearkened not.내가 그와 그의 자손과 그의 신하들을 그들의 죄악으로 인해 벌하고, 그들과 예루살렘 주민들과 유다 사람들에게 내가 그들을 향해 선언한 모든 재앙을 내리리니, 이는 그들이 듣지 않았기 때문이다.
32 Then Jeremiah took another scroll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and many similar words were added to them.Then took Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and there were added besides unto them many like words.그래서 예레미야가 다른 두루마리를 가져다가 네리야의 아들 서기관 바룩에게 주니, 바룩은 유다 왕 여호야김이 불에 태운 책의 모든 말을 예레미야의 입에서 받아 거기에 기록했고, 거기에 그와 같은 많은 말이 더하여졌습니다.
