1 Of Moab. Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: “ Woe to Nebo! For it is laid waste. Kiriathaim is disappointed. It is taken. Misgab is put to shame and broken down.Of Moab. Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Woe unto Nebo! for it is laid waste; Kiriathaim is put to shame, it is taken; Misgab is put to shame and broken down.모압에 관하여 하신 말씀이다. 만군의 여호와, 곧 이스라엘의 하나님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. 느보에게 화가 있으리라! 그곳이 황폐해졌기 때문이다. 기랴다임은 수치를 당하고 점령되었으며, 미스갑은 부끄러움을 당하고 무너져 내렸다.
2 The praise of Moab is no more. In Heshbon they have devised evil against her: ‘ Come! Let’s cut her off from being a nation.’ You also, Madmen, will be brought to silence. The sword will pursue you.The praise of Moab is no more; in Heshbon they have devised evil against her: Come, and let us cut her off from being a nation. Thou also, O Madmen, shalt be brought to silence; the sword shall pursue thee.모압의 영광은 더 이상 없다. 헤스본에서는 사람들이 모압을 해치려고 음모를 꾸미며 말한다. "자, 가서 저 나라를 끊어 버려 더 이상 나라가 되지 못하게 하자." 맛멘아, 너도 잠잠해질 것이며, 칼이 너를 뒤쫓을 것이다.
3 The sound of a cry from Horonaim, desolation and great destruction!The sound of a cry from Horonaim, desolation and great destruction!호로나임에서 부르짖는 소리가 들린다. 황폐와 큰 멸망의 소리다!
4 Moab is destroyed. Her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.모압이 무너졌다. 그곳의 어린것들이 부르짖는 소리가 들리게 되었다.
5 For they will go up by the ascent of Luhith with continual weeping. For at the descent of Horonaim they have heard the distress of the cry of destruction.For by the ascent of Luhith with continual weeping shall they go up; for at the descent of Horonaim they have heard the distress of the cry of destruction.사람들이 끊임없이 울면서 루힛 비탈길로 올라가고, 호로나임 내리막길에서는 멸망을 알리는 비통한 부르짖음을 듣는다.
6 Flee! Save your lives! Be like the juniper bush in the wilderness.Flee, save your lives, and be like the heath in the wilderness.도망쳐라, 너희 목숨을 건져라. 광야의 떨기나무처럼 되어라.
7 For, because you have trusted in your works and in your treasures, you also will be taken. Chemosh will go out into captivity, his priests and his princes together.For, because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou also shalt be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity, his priests and his princes together.네가 네 행위와 네 보물을 의지하였으니, 너도 사로잡힐 것이다. 그모스는 그의 제사장들과 고관들과 함께 포로로 끌려갈 것이다.
8 The destroyer will come on every city, and no city will escape; the valley also will perish, and the plain will be destroyed, as Yahweh has spoken.And the destroyer shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape; the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed; as Jehovah hath spoken.파괴자가 모든 성읍에 닥쳐올 것이니, 어느 성읍도 피하지 못할 것이다. 골짜기도 망하고 평지도 멸망할 것이다. 여호와께서 말씀하신 대로다.
9 Give wings to Moab, that she may fly and get herself away: and her cities will become a desolation, without anyone to dwell in them.Give wings unto Moab, that she may fly and get her away: and her cities shall become a desolation, without any to dwell therein.모압에게 날개를 주어 날아 떠나가게 하여라. 그 성읍들은 황폐해져 그 안에 사는 자가 하나도 없을 것이다.
10 “Cursed is he who does the work of Yahweh negligently; and cursed is he who keeps back his sword from blood.Cursed be he that doeth the work of Jehovah negligently; and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.여호와의 일을 게으르게 하는 자는 저주를 받고, 자기 칼을 거두어 피 흘리기를 막는 자도 저주를 받을 것이다.
11 “ Moab has been at ease from his youth, and he has settled on his dregs, and has not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither has he gone into captivity; therefore his taste remains in him, and his scent is not changed.Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remaineth in him, and his scent is not changed.모압은 어려서부터 평안하여, 마치 찌꺼기 위에 가라앉은 포도주처럼 이 그릇에서 저 그릇으로 옮겨 부어진 적이 없었고 포로로 끌려간 적도 없었다. 그래서 그 맛이 그대로 남아 있고 그 향이 변하지 않았다.
12 Therefore behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “ that I will send to him those who pour off, and they will pour him off; and they will empty his vessels, and break their containers in pieces.Therefore, behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will send unto him them that pour off, and they shall pour him off; and they shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles in pieces.그러므로 보아라, 날이 이를 것이다. 여호와의 말씀이다. 그때에 내가 그에게 술을 따라 옮기는 자들을 보내어 그를 쏟아 버리게 하고, 그의 그릇들을 비우며 그 항아리들을 산산이 깨뜨릴 것이다.
13 Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Beth-el their confidence.이스라엘 집이 그들이 의지했던 벧엘 때문에 부끄러움을 당한 것처럼, 모압도 그모스 때문에 부끄러움을 당할 것이다.
14 “How do you say, ‘We are mighty men, and valiant men for the war’?How say ye, We are mighty men, and valiant men for the war?너희가 어찌 "우리는 용사요, 전쟁에 강한 용맹한 자들이다"라고 말하느냐?
15 Moab is laid waste, and they have gone up into his cities, and his chosen young men have gone down to the slaughter,” says the King, whose name is Yahweh of Armies.Moab is laid waste, and they are gone up into his cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, whose name is Jehovah of hosts.모압이 황폐해지고, 사람들이 그 성읍들로 쳐들어왔으며, 정예 젊은이들이 도살장으로 끌려 내려갔다. 만군의 여호와라는 이름을 가지신 왕께서 말씀하신다.
16 “ The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hurries fast.The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hasteth fast.모압의 재앙이 가까이 다가왔고, 그 환난이 빠르게 닥쳐온다.
17 All you who are around him, bemoan him; and all you who know his name, say, ‘ How the strong staff is broken, the beautiful rod!’All ye that are round about him, bemoan him, and all ye that know his name; say, How is the strong staff broken, the beautiful rod!그를 둘러싼 모든 자들아, 그를 위해 슬퍼하여라. 그의 이름을 아는 모든 자들아, 말하여라. "어찌하여 강한 막대기, 아름다운 지팡이가 꺾였는가!"
18 “ You daughter who dwells in Dibon, come down from your glory, and sit in thirst; for the destroyer of Moab has come up against you. He has destroyed your strongholds.O thou daughter that dwellest in Dibon, come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst; for the destroyer of Moab is come up against thee, he hath destroyed thy strongholds.디본에 사는 딸아, 네 영광에서 내려와 메마른 땅에 앉아라. 모압을 파괴하는 자가 너를 치러 올라와 네 요새들을 무너뜨렸기 때문이다.
19 Inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way and watch. Ask him who flees, and her who escapes; say, ‘ What has been done?’O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and watch: ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth; say, What hath been done?아로엘에 사는 자야, 길가에 서서 지켜보아라. 도망치는 남자와 피하는 여자에게 물어보아라. "무슨 일이 일어났느냐?"
20 Moab is disappointed; for it is broken down. Wail and cry! Tell it by the Arnon, that Moab is laid waste.Moab is put to shame; for it is broken down: wail and cry; tell ye it by the Arnon, that Moab is laid waste.모압이 수치를 당하였으니, 무너져 내렸기 때문이다. 통곡하며 부르짖어라. 아르논 강가에 알려라. 모압이 황폐해졌다고.
21 Judgment has come on the plain country— on Holon, on Jahzah, on Mephaath,And judgment is come upon the plain country, upon Holon, and upon Jahzah, and upon Mephaath,심판이 평지 지방에 임하였으니, 곧 홀론과 야하스와 메바앗과,
22 on Dibon, on Nebo, on Beth Diblathaim,and upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Beth-diblathaim,디본과 느보와 벧디블라다임과,
23 on Kiriathaim, on Beth Gamul, on Beth Meon,and upon Kiriathaim, and upon Beth-gamul, and upon Beth-meon,기랴다임과 벧가물과 벧므온과,
24 on Kerioth, on Bozrah, and on all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.and upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.그리욧과 보스라와 모압 땅의 멀고 가까운 모든 성읍에 임하였다.
25 The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken,” says Yahweh.The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith Jehovah.모압의 뿔이 잘렸고 그 팔이 부러졌다. 여호와의 말씀이다.
26 “ Make him drunk, for he magnified himself against Yahweh. Moab will wallow in his vomit, and he also will be in derision.Make ye him drunken; for he magnified himself against Jehovah: and Moab shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.그를 취하게 하여라. 그가 여호와를 향하여 자기를 높였기 때문이다. 모압이 자기가 토한 것 위에서 뒹굴 것이며, 그 또한 조롱거리가 될 것이다.
27 For wasn’t Israel a derision to you? Was he found among thieves? For as often as you speak of him, you shake your head.For was not Israel a derision unto thee? was he found among thieves? for as often as thou speakest of him, thou waggest the head.이스라엘이 네게 조롱거리가 아니었느냐? 그가 도둑들 가운데서 잡혔느냐? 네가 그를 말할 때마다 머리를 흔들어 비웃었다.
28 You inhabitants of Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock. Be like the dove that makes her nest over the mouth of the abyss.O ye inhabitants of Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock; and be like the dove that maketh her nest over the mouth of the abyss.모압 주민들아, 성읍들을 떠나 바위 틈에 거하여라. 깊은 골짜기 어귀에 둥지를 트는 비둘기처럼 되어라.
29 “ We have heard of the pride of Moab. He is very proud in his loftiness, his pride, his arrogance, and the arrogance of his heart.We have heard of the pride of Moab, that he is very proud; his loftiness, and his pride, and his arrogancy, and the haughtiness of his heart.우리가 모압의 교만에 대하여 들었다. 그가 심히 교만하니, 그 거만함과 교만함과 오만함과 마음의 거드름이 가득하다.
30 I know his wrath,” says Yahweh, “ that it is nothing; his boastings have done nothing.I know his wrath, saith Jehovah, that it is nought; his boastings have wrought nothing.내가 그의 분노를 안다. 여호와의 말씀이다. 그것은 헛된 것이며, 그의 자랑은 아무것도 이루지 못하였다.
31 Therefore I will wail for Moab. Yes, I will cry out for all Moab. They will mourn for the men of Kir Heres.Therefore will I wail for Moab; yea, I will cry out for all Moab: for the men of Kir-heres shall they mourn.그러므로 내가 모압을 위하여 통곡하겠고, 온 모압을 위하여 부르짖겠다. 길헤레스 사람들을 위하여 사람들이 애곡할 것이다.
32 With more than the weeping of Jazer I will weep for you, vine of Sibmah. Your branches passed over the sea. They reached even to the sea of Jazer. The destroyer has fallen on your summer fruits and on your vintage.With more than the weeping of Jazer will I weep for thee, O vine of Sibmah: thy branches passed over the sea, they reached even to the sea of Jazer: upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage the destroyer is fallen.십마의 포도나무야, 내가 야셀의 울음보다 더하게 너를 위하여 울겠다. 네 가지들이 바다를 넘어 야셀의 바다까지 뻗었더니, 파괴자가 네 여름 과일과 포도 수확물 위에 닥쳐왔다.
33 Gladness and joy is taken away from the fruitful field and from the land of Moab. I have caused wine to cease from the wine presses. No one will tread with shouting. The shouting will be no shouting.And gladness and joy is taken away from the fruitful field and from the land of Moab; and I have caused wine to cease from the winepresses: none shall tread with shouting; the shouting shall be no shouting.기쁨과 즐거움이 기름진 밭과 모압 땅에서 사라졌고, 내가 포도주 틀에서 포도주가 끊어지게 하였다. 아무도 흥겹게 외치며 포도를 밟지 못하리니, 그 외침은 더 이상 흥겨운 외침이 아닐 것이다.
34 From the cry of Heshbon even to Elealeh, even to Jahaz they have uttered their voice, from Zoar even to Horonaim, to Eglath Shelishiyah; for the waters of Nimrim will also become desolate.From the cry of Heshbon even unto Elealeh, even unto Jahaz have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even unto Horonaim, to Eglath-shelishiyah: for the waters of Nimrim also shall become desolate.헤스본에서 부르짖는 소리가 엘르알레까지, 야하스까지 이르렀고, 소알에서부터 호로나임과 에글랏 셀리시야까지 그 소리를 내었다. 니므림의 물들도 황폐해질 것이기 때문이다.
35 Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab,” says Yahweh, “ him who offers in the high place, and him who burns incense to his gods.Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, saith Jehovah, him that offereth in the high place, and him that burneth incense to his gods.여호와의 말씀이다. 내가 또 모압에서 산당에 제물을 바치는 자와 그들의 신들에게 분향하는 자를 끊어 버리겠다.
36 Therefore my heart sounds for Moab like flutes, and my heart sounds like flutes for the men of Kir Heres. Therefore the abundance that he has gotten has perished.Therefore my heart soundeth for Moab like pipes, and my heart soundeth like pipes for the men of Kir-heres: therefore the abundance that he hath gotten is perished.그러므로 내 마음이 모압을 위하여 피리처럼 슬피 울리고, 길헤레스 사람들을 위하여 내 마음이 피리처럼 울린다. 그들이 쌓아 둔 풍성한 재물이 사라졌기 때문이다.
37 For every head is bald, and every beard clipped. There are cuttings on all the hands, and sackcloth on the waist.For every head is bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands are cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.모든 머리가 대머리가 되고 모든 수염이 깎였으며, 모든 손에는 상처가 있고 허리에는 굵은 베옷을 둘렀다.
38 On all the housetops of Moab, and in its streets, there is lamentation everywhere; for I have broken Moab like a vessel in which no one delights,” says Yahweh.On all the housetops of Moab and in the streets thereof there is lamentation every where; for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein none delighteth, saith Jehovah.모압의 모든 지붕 위와 거리마다 곳곳에 애곡이 가득하다. 내가 모압을 아무도 좋아하지 않는 그릇처럼 깨뜨렸기 때문이다. 여호와의 말씀이다.
39 “How it is broken down! How they wail! How Moab has turned the back with shame! So will Moab become a derision and a terror to all who are around him.”How is it broken down! how do they wail! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab become a derision and a terror to all that are round about him.모압이 어찌 그리 무너져 내렸는가! 사람들이 어찌 그리 통곡하는가! 모압이 어찌 그리 부끄러움으로 등을 돌렸는가! 이렇게 모압은 자기를 둘러싼 모든 자들에게 조롱거리와 두려움의 대상이 될 것이다.
40 For Yahweh says: “ Behold, he will fly as an eagle, and will spread out his wings against Moab.For thus saith Jehovah: Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread out his wings against Moab.여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. 보아라, 그가 독수리처럼 날아와 모압을 향하여 그 날개를 펼칠 것이다.
41 Kerioth is taken, and the strongholds are seized. The heart of the mighty men of Moab at that day will be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.Kerioth is taken, and the strongholds are seized, and the heart of the mighty men of Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.그리욧이 점령되고 요새들이 함락되며, 그날에 모압 용사들의 마음이 해산하는 여인의 마음처럼 될 것이다.
42 Moab will be destroyed from being a people, because he has magnified himself against Yahweh.And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against Jehovah.모압이 여호와를 향하여 자기를 높였으므로, 한 민족으로서의 모압이 멸망할 것이다.
43 Terror, the pit, and the snare are on you, inhabitant of Moab,” says Yahweh.Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith Jehovah.모압 주민아, 두려움과 함정과 올무가 네 위에 있다. 여호와의 말씀이다.
44 “ He who flees from the terror will fall into the pit; and he who gets up out of the pit will be taken in the snare, for I will bring on him, even on Moab, the year of their visitation,” says Yahweh.He that fleeth from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring upon him, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, saith Jehovah.두려움에서 도망치는 자는 함정에 빠지고, 함정에서 올라오는 자는 올무에 걸릴 것이다. 내가 모압 위에 그들이 벌받을 해를 가져올 것이기 때문이다. 여호와의 말씀이다.
45 “ Those who fled stand without strength under the shadow of Heshbon; for a fire has gone out of Heshbon, and a flame from the middle of Sihon, and has devoured the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.They that fled stand without strength under the shadow of Heshbon; for a fire is gone forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and hath devoured the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.도망친 자들이 힘없이 헤스본의 그늘 아래에 서 있다. 헤스본에서 불이 나오고 시혼 가운데서 불꽃이 나와 모압의 변두리와 소란한 자들의 정수리를 삼켰기 때문이다.
46 Woe to you, O Moab! The people of Chemosh are undone; for your sons are taken away captive, and your daughters into captivity.Woe unto thee, O Moab! the people of Chemosh is undone; for thy sons are taken away captive, and thy daughters into captivity.모압아, 네게 화가 있으리라! 그모스의 백성이 망하였으니, 네 아들들은 포로로 끌려가고 네 딸들은 사로잡혀 갔다.
47 “ Yet I will reverse the captivity of Moab in the latter days,” says Yahweh. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.Yet will I bring back the captivity of Moab in the latter days, saith Jehovah. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.그러나 마지막 날에 내가 모압의 포로 된 자들을 다시 돌아오게 할 것이다. 여호와의 말씀이다. 모압에 대한 심판은 여기까지다.
