1 Israel traveled with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices to the God of his father, Isaac.And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.이스라엘이 자기에게 있는 모든 것을 가지고 길을 떠나 브엘세바에 이르러, 자기 아버지 이삭의 하나님께 제사를 드렸다.
2 God spoke to Israel in the visions of the night, and said, “ Jacob, Jacob!” He said, “ Here I am.”And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.하나님이 밤의 환상 가운데 이스라엘에게 말씀하시며 "야곱아, 야곱아!" 하고 부르셨다. 그가 "제가 여기 있습니다" 하고 대답했다.
3 He said, “ I am God, the God of your father. Don’t be afraid to go down into Egypt, for there I will make of you a great nation.And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:하나님이 말씀하셨다. 28 Jacob sent Judah before him to Joseph, to show the way before him to Goshen, and they came into the land of Goshen.And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to show the way before him unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.야곱이 요셉에게 자기를 인도해 줄 사람으로 유다를 먼저 보내어 고센으로 가는 길을 안내하게 하니, 그들이 고센 땅에 이르렀다.
29 Joseph prepared his chariot, and went up to meet Israel, his father, in Goshen. He presented himself to him, and fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen; and he presented himself unto him, and fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.요셉이 자기 수레를 준비하여 고센으로 올라가 아버지 이스라엘을 맞이하였다. 그가 아버지를 뵙고 목을 끌어안고 한참 동안 목 놓아 울었다.
30 Israel said to Joseph, “ Now let me die, since I have seen your face, that you are still alive.”And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, that thou art yet alive.이스라엘이 요셉에게 말했다. "네가 살아 있어 내가 네 얼굴을 보았으니, 이제는 죽어도 좋겠다."
31 Joseph said to his brothers, and to his father’s house, “ I will go up, and speak with Pharaoh, and will tell him, ‘ My brothers, and my father’s house, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me.And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father’s house, I will go up, and tell Pharaoh, and will say unto him, My brethren, and my father’s house, who were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;요셉이 자기 형제들과 아버지의 집안에게 말했다. 33 It will happen, when Pharaoh summons you, and will say, ‘ What is your occupation?’And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation?바로가 당신들을 불러 '너희 직업이 무엇이냐?'고 물으면,
34 that you shall say, ‘ Your servants have been keepers of livestock from our youth even until now, both we, and our fathers:’ that you may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.”that ye shall say, Thy servants have been keepers of cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.당신들은 '주의 종들은 어릴 때부터 지금까지 가축을 치는 사람이며, 우리와 우리 조상들이 다 그러하였습니다'라고 대답하십시오. 그래야 당신들이 고센 땅에 거주할 수 있을 것입니다. 이집트 사람은 목자라면 다 싫어하기 때문입니다."
