1 Then Joseph went in and told Pharaoh, and said, “ My father and my brothers, with their flocks, their herds, and all that they own, have come out of the land of Canaan; and behold, they are in the land of Goshen.”Then Joseph went in and told Pharaoh, and said, My father and my brethren, and their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have, are come out of the land of Canaan; and, behold, they are in the land of Goshen.요셉이 들어가 바로에게 아뢰어 말하기를, "제 아버지와 형제들이 양 떼와 소 떼와 그들의 모든 소유를 이끌고 가나안 땅에서 나와 이제 고센 땅에 와 있습니다" 하였다.
2 From among his brothers he took five men, and presented them to Pharaoh.And from among his brethren he took five men, and presented them unto Pharaoh.그가 자기 형제들 가운데서 다섯 사람을 골라 바로 앞에 세웠다.
3 Pharaoh said to his brothers, “ What is your occupation?” They said to Pharaoh, “ Your servants are shepherds, both we, and our fathers.”And Pharaoh said unto his brethren, What is your occupation? And they said unto Pharaoh, Thy servants are shepherds, both we, and our fathers.바로가 요셉의 형제들에게 "너희의 생업이 무엇이냐?" 하고 묻자, 그들이 바로에게 대답하기를 "주의 종들은 우리도 우리 조상들도 양을 치는 목자입니다" 하였다.
4 They also said to Pharaoh, “ We have come to live as foreigners in the land, for there is no pasture for your servants’ flocks. For the famine is severe in the land of Canaan. Now therefore, please let your servants dwell in the land of Goshen.”And they said unto Pharaoh, To sojourn in the land are we come; for there is no pasture for thy servants’ flocks; for the famine is sore in the land of Canaan: now therefore, we pray thee, let thy servants dwell in the land of Goshen.그들이 또 바로에게 말하기를, "저희가 이 땅에 나그네로 살려고 왔습니다. 가나안 땅에 기근이 심하여 종들의 양 떼를 먹일 풀밭이 없기 때문입니다. 그러니 이제 종들이 고센 땅에 머물러 살게 해 주십시오" 하였다.
5 Pharaoh spoke to Joseph, saying, “ Your father and your brothers have come to you.And Pharaoh spake unto Joseph, saying, Thy father and thy brethren are come unto thee:바로가 요셉에게 말하였다. "네 아버지와 형제들이 네게로 왔구나.
6 The land of Egypt is before you. Make your father and your brothers dwell in the best of the land. Let them dwell in the land of Goshen. If you know any able men among them, then put them in charge of my livestock.”the land of Egypt is before thee; in the best of the land make thy father and thy brethren to dwell; in the land of Goshen let them dwell: and if thou knowest any able men among them, then make them rulers over my cattle.이집트 땅이 네 앞에 있으니, 그 땅의 가장 좋은 곳에 네 아버지와 형제들이 살게 하여라. 고센 땅에 그들을 머물게 하여라. 또 그들 중에 능력 있는 사람이 있는 줄 알거든, 그들을 내 가축의 책임자로 세워라."
7 Joseph brought in Jacob, his father, and set him before Pharaoh; and Jacob blessed Pharaoh.And Joseph brought in Jacob his father, and set him before Pharaoh: and Jacob blessed Pharaoh.요셉이 자기 아버지 야곱을 모셔 들여 바로 앞에 세우니, 야곱이 바로를 축복하였다.
8 Pharaoh said to Jacob, “ How old are you?”And Pharaoh said unto Jacob, How many are the days of the years of thy life?바로가 야곱에게 "당신은 나이가 얼마나 되었소?" 하고 물었다.
9 Jacob said to Pharaoh, “ The years of my pilgrimage are one hundred thirty years. The days of the years of my life have been few and evil. They have not attained to the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.”And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty years: few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.야곱이 바로에게 대답하였다. "제가 나그네로 지내 온 세월이 백삼십 년입니다. 제 삶의 날들은 짧고 험난하였으며, 제 조상들이 나그네로 지낸 세월에는 미치지 못합니다."
10 Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and went out from the presence of Pharaoh.And Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and went out from the presence of Pharaoh.야곱이 바로를 축복하고 바로 앞에서 물러 나왔다.
11 Joseph placed his father and his brothers, and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded.And Joseph placed his father and his brethren, and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded.요셉이 바로의 명령대로 자기 아버지와 형제들을 이집트 땅의 가장 좋은 곳, 곧 라암셋 땅에 자리 잡게 하고 그곳을 소유로 주었다.
12 Joseph provided his father, his brothers, and all of his father’s household with bread, according to the sizes of their families.And Joseph nourished his father, and his brethren, and all his father’s household, with bread, according to their families.요셉이 자기 아버지와 형제들과 아버지의 온 집안 식구에게 식구 수대로 양식을 공급하였다.
13 There was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very severe, so that the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan fainted by reason of the famine.And there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very sore, so that the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan fainted by reason of the famine.그러나 온 땅에 양식이 없었다. 기근이 매우 심하여, 이집트 땅과 가나안 땅이 그 기근으로 쇠약해졌다.
14 Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the grain which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house.And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the grain which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house.요셉은 이집트 땅과 가나안 땅에서 사람들이 곡식을 사며 낸 돈을 모두 거두어 바로의 궁으로 가져갔다.
15 When the money was all spent in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came to Joseph, and said, “ Give us bread, for why should we die in your presence? For our money fails.”And when the money was all spent in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give us bread: for why should we die in thy presence? for our money faileth.이집트 땅과 가나안 땅에서 돈이 다 떨어지자, 모든 이집트 사람이 요셉에게 와서 말하기를 "양식을 주십시오. 어찌하여 우리가 당신 앞에서 죽어야 합니까? 돈이 다 떨어졌습니다" 하였다.
16 Joseph said, “ Give me your livestock; and I will give you food for your livestock, if your money is gone.”And Joseph said, Give your cattle; and I will give you for your cattle, if money fail.요셉이 말하였다. "너희 돈이 떨어졌거든 너희 가축을 내놓아라. 그러면 내가 가축을 받고 너희에게 양식을 주겠다."
17 They brought their livestock to Joseph, and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for the horses, and for the flocks, and for the herds, and for the donkeys: and he fed them with bread in exchange for all their livestock for that year.And they brought their cattle unto Joseph; and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for the horses, and for the flocks, and for the herds, and for the asses: and he fed them with bread in exchange for all their cattle for that year.그들이 요셉에게 가축을 가져오니, 요셉이 말과 양 떼와 소 떼와 나귀를 받고 그들에게 양식을 주었다. 그렇게 그가 그 해에 그들의 모든 가축을 받고 양식으로 그들을 먹였다.
18 When that year was ended, they came to him the second year, and said to him, “ We will not hide from my lord how our money is all spent, and the herds of livestock are my lord’s. There is nothing left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands.And when that year was ended, they came unto him the second year, and said unto him, We will not hide from my lord, how that our money is all spent; and the herds of cattle are my lord’s; there is nought left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands:그 해가 다하자 이듬해에 그들이 다시 요셉에게 와서 말하였다. "내 주여, 우리가 주께 숨기지 않겠습니다. 돈도 다 떨어지고 가축 떼도 다 내 주의 것이 되어, 이제 내 주 앞에 남은 것이라고는 우리 몸과 우리 땅밖에 없습니다.
19 Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants to Pharaoh. Give us seed, that we may live, and not die, and that the land won’t be desolate.”wherefore should we die before thine eyes, both we and our land? buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants unto Pharaoh: and give us seed, that we may live, and not die, and that the land be not desolate.어찌하여 우리가 우리 땅과 함께 주의 눈앞에서 죽어야 합니까? 우리와 우리 땅을 양식으로 사 주십시오. 그러면 우리와 우리 땅이 바로의 종이 되겠습니다. 또 우리에게 씨앗을 주셔서, 우리가 죽지 않고 살며 땅도 황폐해지지 않게 해 주십시오."
20 So Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh, for every man of the Egyptians sold his field, because the famine was severe on them, and the land became Pharaoh’s.So Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh; for the Egyptians sold every man his field, because the famine was sore upon them: and the land became Pharaoh’s.그리하여 요셉이 바로를 위하여 이집트의 모든 땅을 사들였다. 기근이 그들에게 심하여 이집트 사람들이 저마다 자기 밭을 팔았으므로, 그 땅이 바로의 것이 되었다.
21 As for the people, he moved them to the cities from one end of the border of Egypt even to the other end of it.And as for the people, he removed them to the cities from one end of the border of Egypt even to the other end thereof.또 백성은 이집트 국경 이 끝에서 저 끝까지 성읍들로 옮겨 살게 하였다.
22 Only he didn’t buy the land of the priests, for the priests had a portion from Pharaoh, and ate their portion which Pharaoh gave them. That is why they didn’t sell their land.Only the land of the priests bought he not: for the priests had a portion from Pharaoh, and did eat their portion which Pharaoh gave them; wherefore they sold not their land.다만 제사장들의 땅은 사지 않았다. 제사장들은 바로에게서 정해진 몫을 받아 그것으로 먹고 살았으므로, 그들은 자기 땅을 팔지 않았다.
23 Then Joseph said to the people, “ Behold, I have bought you and your land today for Pharaoh. Behold, here is seed for you, and you shall sow the land.Then Joseph said unto the people, Behold, I have bought you this day and your land for Pharaoh: lo, here is seed for you, and ye shall sow the land.그때 요셉이 백성에게 말하였다. "보라, 내가 오늘 너희와 너희 땅을 바로를 위하여 사들였다. 여기 너희에게 줄 씨앗이 있으니, 너희는 땅에 씨를 뿌려라.
24 It will happen at the harvests, that you shall give a fifth to Pharaoh, and four parts will be your own, for seed of the field, for your food, for them of your households, and for food for your little ones.”And it shall come to pass at the ingatherings, that ye shall give a fifth unto Pharaoh, and four parts shall be your own, for seed of the field, and for your food, and for them of your households, and for food for your little ones.수확 때가 되면 너희는 그 오분의 일을 바로에게 바치고, 나머지 사분은 너희가 가져라. 그것으로 밭에 뿌릴 씨앗과 너희와 너희 집안 식구들과 어린아이들의 양식을 삼아라."
25 They said, “ You have saved our lives! Let us find favor in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh’s servants.”And they said, Thou hast saved our lives: let us find favor in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh’s servants.그들이 말하기를 "주께서 우리 생명을 살리셨습니다. 내 주께 은혜를 입게 해 주십시오. 우리가 바로의 종이 되겠습니다" 하였다.
26 Joseph made it a statute concerning the land of Egypt to this day, that Pharaoh should have the fifth. Only the land of the priests alone didn’t become Pharaoh’s.And Joseph made it a statute concerning the land of Egypt unto this day, that Pharaoh should have the fifth; only the land of the priests alone became not Pharaoh’s.요셉이 이집트 땅에 대하여 오분의 일을 바로에게 바치는 것을 오늘날까지 이어지는 법으로 삼았다. 다만 제사장들의 땅만은 바로의 것이 되지 않았다.
27 Israel lived in the land of Egypt, in the land of Goshen; and they got themselves possessions therein, and were fruitful, and multiplied exceedingly.And Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the land of Goshen; and they gat them possessions therein, and were fruitful, and multiplied exceedingly.이스라엘이 이집트 땅 고센 지방에 살면서 거기서 소유를 얻고, 자식을 낳아 번성하며 크게 늘어났다.
28 Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years. So the days of Jacob, the years of his life, were one hundred forty-seven years.And Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years: so the days of Jacob, the years of his life, were a hundred forty and seven years.야곱이 이집트 땅에서 십칠 년을 살았으니, 야곱의 일생 곧 그의 평생의 햇수는 백사십칠 년이었다.
29 The time came near that Israel must die, and he called his son Joseph, and said to him, “ If now I have found favor in your sight, please put your hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me. Please don’t bury me in Egypt,And the time drew near that Israel must die: and he called his son Joseph, and said unto him, If now I have found favor in thy sight, put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me: bury me not, I pray thee, in Egypt;이스라엘이 죽을 때가 가까워지자, 그가 아들 요셉을 불러 말하였다. "이제 내가 네게 은혜를 입었거든, 네 손을 내 허벅지 아래 넣고 나를 사랑과 신실함으로 대하겠다고 약속해 다오. 제발 나를 이집트에 묻지 말아라.
30 but when I sleep with my fathers, you shall carry me out of Egypt, and bury me in their burying place.” Joseph said, “ I will do as you have said.”but when I sleep with my fathers, thou shalt carry me out of Egypt, and bury me in their burying-place. And he said, I will do as thou hast said.내가 내 조상들과 함께 잠들거든, 너는 나를 이집트에서 메고 나가 그들의 묘지에 묻어 다오." 요셉이 대답하기를 "제가 아버지 말씀대로 하겠습니다" 하였다.
31 Israel said, “ Swear to me,” and he swore to him. Then Israel bowed himself on the bed’s head.And he said, Swear unto me: and he sware unto him. And Israel bowed himself upon the bed’s head.야곱이 또 말하기를 "내게 맹세하여라" 하니, 요셉이 그에게 맹세하였다. 이스라엘이 침상 머리에서 몸을 굽혀 경배하였다.
