1 Abraham traveled from there toward the land of the South, and lived between Kadesh and Shur. He lived as a foreigner in Gerar.And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the land of the South, and dwelt between Kadesh and Shur; and he sojourned in Gerar.아브라함이 그곳을 떠나 남쪽 땅으로 옮겨 가서 가데스와 술 사이에 머물렀고, 그랄에서 나그네로 살았다.
2 Abraham said about Sarah his wife, “ She is my sister.” Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah.And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah.아브라함은 자기 아내 사라를 두고 "그는 내 누이입니다"라고 말했다. 그러자 그랄 왕 아비멜렉이 사람을 보내 사라를 데려갔다.
3 But God came to Abimelech in a dream of the night, and said to him, “ Behold, you are a dead man, because of the woman whom you have taken; for she is a man’s wife.”But God came to Abimelech in a dream of the night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, because of the woman whom thou hast taken; for she is a man’s wife.그러나 하나님께서 밤중에 꿈에 아비멜렉에게 나타나 말씀하셨다. "보아라, 네가 데려온 그 여자 때문에 너는 죽은 목숨이다. 그는 남의 아내이기 때문이다."
4 Now Abimelech had not come near her. He said, “ Lord, will you kill even a righteous nation?Now Abimelech had not come near her: and he said, Lord, wilt thou slay even a righteous nation?그때 아비멜렉은 아직 그 여자에게 가까이하지 않았으므로 이렇게 말했다. "주여, 의로운 백성까지도 죽이시렵니까?
5 Didn’t he tell me, ‘ She is my sister’? She, even she herself, said, ‘ He is my brother.’ I have done this in the integrity of my heart and the innocence of my hands.”Said he not himself unto me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the integrity of my heart and the innocency of my hands have I done this.그가 직접 나에게 '그는 내 누이입니다' 하지 않았습니까? 그 여자 또한 스스로 '그는 내 오라비입니다' 하였습니다. 저는 깨끗한 마음과 죄 없는 손으로 이 일을 하였습니다."
6 God said to him in the dream, “ Yes, I know that in the integrity of your heart you have done this, and I also withheld you from sinning against me. Therefore I didn’t allow you to touch her.And God said unto him in the dream, Yea, I know that in the integrity of thy heart thou hast done this, and I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her.하나님께서 꿈에 그에게 말씀하셨다. "그렇다, 나도 네가 깨끗한 마음으로 이 일을 한 줄을 안다. 그래서 나도 네가 나에게 죄를 짓지 않도록 막아, 그 여자에게 손대는 것을 허락하지 않았다.
7 Now therefore, restore the man’s wife. For he is a prophet, and he will pray for you, and you will live. If you don’t restore her, know for sure that you will die, you, and all who are yours.”Now therefore restore the man’s wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.그러니 이제 그 사람의 아내를 돌려보내라. 그는 선지자이니 너를 위해 기도할 것이고, 그러면 너는 살 것이다. 그러나 만일 돌려보내지 않으면, 너와 네게 속한 모든 사람이 반드시 죽을 줄로 알아라."
8 Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ear. The men were very scared.And Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ears: and the men were sore afraid.아비멜렉이 아침 일찍 일어나 모든 신하를 불러 이 모든 일을 그들에게 들려주니, 사람들이 몹시 두려워하였다.
9 Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said to him, “ What have you done to us? How have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done deeds to me that ought not to be done!”Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and wherein have I sinned against thee, that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done deeds unto me that ought not to be done.그러고 나서 아비멜렉이 아브라함을 불러 말했다. "당신이 우리에게 어떻게 이런 일을 하셨소? 내가 당신에게 무슨 죄를 지었기에, 나와 내 나라에 이렇게 큰 죄를 끼치셨소? 당신은 해서는 안 될 일을 나에게 하셨소!"
10 Abimelech said to Abraham, “ What did you see, that you have done this thing?”And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What sawest thou, that thou hast done this thing?아비멜렉이 아브라함에게 말했다. "당신은 무엇을 보았기에 이런 일을 하셨소?"
11 Abraham said, “ Because I thought, ‘ Surely the fear of God is not in this place. They will kill me for my wife’s sake.’And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife’s sake.아브라함이 대답했다. "이곳에는 하나님을 두려워함이 없으니, 사람들이 내 아내 때문에 나를 죽일 것이라고 생각했기 때문입니다.
12 Besides, she is indeed my sister, the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife.And moreover she is indeed my sister, the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife:게다가 그는 정말로 내 누이입니다. 내 아버지의 딸이지만 내 어머니의 딸은 아니며, 내 아내가 되었습니다.
13 When God caused me to wander from my father’s house, I said to her, ‘ This is your kindness which you shall show to me. Everywhere that we go, say of me, “ He is my brother.”’”and it came to pass, when God caused me to wander from my father’s house, that I said unto her, This is thy kindness which thou shalt show unto me: at every place whither we shall come, say of me, He is my brother.하나님께서 나를 내 아버지의 집에서 떠나 떠돌게 하셨을 때, 내가 그에게 말했습니다. '당신이 나에게 베풀 친절은 이것이오. 우리가 가는 곳마다 나를 두고 그는 내 오라비라고 말해 주시오.'"
14 Abimelech took sheep and cattle, male servants and female servants, and gave them to Abraham, and restored Sarah, his wife, to him.And Abimelech took sheep and oxen, and men-servants and women-servants, and gave them unto Abraham, and restored him Sarah his wife.아비멜렉이 양과 소와 남종과 여종을 데려와 아브라함에게 주고, 그의 아내 사라를 그에게 돌려보냈다.
15 Abimelech said, “ Behold, my land is before you. Dwell where it pleases you.”And Abimelech said, Behold, my land is before thee: dwell where it pleaseth thee.아비멜렉이 말했다. "보시오, 내 땅이 당신 앞에 있으니, 마음에 드는 곳에 머무시오."
16 To Sarah he said, “ Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver. Behold, it is for you a covering of the eyes to all that are with you. In front of all you are vindicated.”And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, it is for thee a covering of the eyes to all that are with thee; and in respect of all thou art righted.그가 사라에게 말했다. "보시오, 내가 당신의 오라비에게 은 천 개를 주었소. 이것은 당신과 함께 있는 모든 사람 앞에서 당신의 눈을 가리는 표가 되어, 모든 사람 앞에서 당신의 결백이 밝혀질 것이오."
17 Abraham prayed to God. So God healed Abimelech, his wife, and his female servants, and they bore children.And Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maid-servants; and they bare children.아브라함이 하나님께 기도하니, 하나님께서 아비멜렉과 그의 아내와 여종들을 고쳐 주셔서 그들이 다시 아이를 낳게 하셨다.
18 For Yahweh had closed up tight all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah, Abraham’s wife.For Jehovah had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah, Abraham’s wife.여호와께서 아브라함의 아내 사라 때문에 아비멜렉 집안의 모든 태를 닫아 두셨기 때문이다.
