1 Isaac called Jacob, blessed him, and commanded him, “ You shall not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.이삭이 야곱을 불러 그를 축복하고 이렇게 당부했습니다. "너는 가나안 사람의 딸 중에서 아내를 맞이하지 마라.
2 Arise, go to Paddan Aram, to the house of Bethuel your mother’s father. Take a wife from there from the daughters of Laban, your mother’s brother.Arise, go to Paddan-aram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother’s father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother’s brother.일어나 밧단아람으로 가서, 네 어머니의 아버지인 브두엘의 집으로 가거라. 그리고 거기서 네 외삼촌 라반의 딸 중에서 아내를 맞이하여라.
3 May God Almighty bless you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, that you may be a company of peoples,And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a company of peoples;전능하신 하나님께서 너에게 복을 주시고, 너를 번성하게 하시며, 너를 많아지게 하셔서, 네가 여러 민족의 무리를 이루게 하시기를 빈다.
4 and give you the blessing of Abraham, to you and to your offspring with you, that you may inherit the land where you travel, which God gave to Abraham.”and give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land of thy sojournings, which God gave unto Abraham.또한 하나님께서 아브라함에게 주신 복을 너와 너의 후손에게도 주셔서, 네가 지금 나그네로 머무는 이 땅, 곧 하나님께서 아브라함에게 주신 땅을 네가 차지하게 하시기를 빈다."
5 Isaac sent Jacob away. He went to Paddan Aram to Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob’s and Esau’s mother.And Isaac sent away Jacob: and he went to Paddan-aram unto Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob’s and Esau’s mother.이렇게 이삭이 야곱을 떠나보냈고, 야곱은 밧단아람으로, 곧 아람 사람 브두엘의 아들이며 야곱과 에서의 어머니인 리브가의 오빠 라반에게로 갔습니다.
6 Now Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob and sent him away to Paddan Aram, to take him a wife from there, and that as he blessed him he gave him a command, saying, “ You shall not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;”Now Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob and sent him away to Paddan-aram, to take him a wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;한편 에서는 이삭이 야곱을 축복하여 밧단아람으로 보내 거기서 아내를 맞이하게 한 것과, 그를 축복하면서 "너는 가나안 사람의 딸 중에서 아내를 맞이하지 마라" 하고 당부한 것을 보았습니다.
7 and that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Paddan Aram.and that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Paddan-aram:또한 야곱이 자기 아버지와 어머니에게 순종하여 밧단아람으로 떠난 것도 보았습니다.
8 Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan didn’t please Isaac, his father.and Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father;에서는 가나안 사람의 딸들이 자기 아버지 이삭의 마음에 들지 않는다는 것을 알게 되었습니다.
9 So Esau went to Ishmael, and took, in addition to the wives that he had, Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, the sister of Nebaioth, to be his wife.and Esau went unto Ishmael, and took, besides the wives that he had, Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham’s son, the sister of Nebaioth, to be his wife.그래서 에서는 이스마엘에게로 가서, 이미 거느리고 있던 아내들 외에, 아브라함의 아들 이스마엘의 딸이며 느바욧의 누이인 마할랏을 아내로 맞이했습니다.
10 Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran.And Jacob went out from Beer-sheba, and went toward Haran.야곱은 브엘세바를 떠나 하란을 향해 길을 갔습니다.
11 He came to a certain place, and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. He took one of the stones of the place, and put it under his head, and lay down in that place to sleep.And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took one of the stones of the place, and put it under his head, and lay down in that place to sleep.그는 어떤 곳에 이르렀는데, 해가 졌으므로 그곳에서 하룻밤을 묵었습니다. 그는 그곳의 돌 하나를 가져다가 머리에 베고, 그곳에 누워 잠을 잤습니다.
12 He dreamed and saw a stairway set upon the earth, and its top reached to heaven. Behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.And he dreamed; and behold, a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven; and behold, the angels of God ascending and descending on it.그가 꿈을 꾸었습니다. 보십시오, 땅 위에 세워진 층계가 있었고 그 꼭대기는 하늘에 닿아 있었습니다. 보십시오, 하나님의 천사들이 그 위로 오르락내리락하고 있었습니다.
13 Behold, Yahweh stood above it, and said, “ I am Yahweh, the God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac. I will give the land you lie on to you and to your offspring.And, behold, Jehovah stood above it, and said, I am Jehovah, the God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;보십시오, 여호와께서 그 위에 서서 말씀하셨습니다. "나는 여호와, 네 조상 아브라함의 하나님이요 이삭의 하나님이다. 네가 누워 있는 이 땅을 내가 너와 네 후손에게 주겠다.
14 Your offspring will be as the dust of the earth, and you will spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south. In you and in your offspring, all the families of the earth will be blessed.and thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.네 후손은 땅의 티끌처럼 많아질 것이며, 너는 서쪽과 동쪽과 북쪽과 남쪽으로 퍼져 나갈 것이다. 땅의 모든 족속이 너와 네 후손으로 말미암아 복을 받을 것이다.
15 Behold, I am with you, and will keep you, wherever you go, and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you until I have done that which I have spoken of to you.”And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee whithersoever thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.보십시오, 내가 너와 함께 있어 네가 어디로 가든지 너를 지키고, 너를 다시 이 땅으로 돌아오게 하겠다. 내가 너에게 약속한 것을 다 이루기까지 너를 떠나지 않겠다."
16 Jacob awakened out of his sleep, and he said, “ Surely Yahweh is in this place, and I didn’t know it.”And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely Jehovah is in this place; and I knew it not.야곱이 잠에서 깨어나 말했습니다. "참으로 여호와께서 이곳에 계셨는데, 나는 그것을 알지 못했구나."
17 He was afraid, and said, “ How awesome this place is! This is none other than God’s house, and this is the gate of heaven.”And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.그는 두려워하며 말했습니다. "이곳이 얼마나 두려운 곳인가! 이곳은 다름 아닌 하나님의 집이요, 하늘의 문이로구나."
18 Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put under his head, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil on its top.And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put under his head, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.야곱은 아침 일찍 일어나, 머리에 베었던 돌을 가져다가 기둥으로 세우고, 그 꼭대기에 기름을 부었습니다.
19 He called the name of that place Bethel, but the name of the city was Luz at the first.And he called the name of that place Beth-el: but the name of the city was Luz at the first.그는 그곳의 이름을 벧엘이라고 불렀습니다. 그러나 처음에 그 성읍의 이름은 루스였습니다.
20 Jacob vowed a vow, saying, “ If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and clothing to put on,And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,야곱은 서원하며 말했습니다. 21 so that I come again to my father’s house in peace, and Yahweh will be my God,so that I come again to my father’s house in peace, and Jehovah will be my God,내가 평안히 내 아버지의 집으로 돌아오게 하시면, 여호와께서 나의 하나님이 되실 것입니다.
22 then this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, will be God’s house. Of all that you will give me I will surely give a tenth to you.”then this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.그리고 내가 기둥으로 세운 이 돌이 하나님의 집이 될 것이며, 하나님께서 나에게 주시는 모든 것에서 십분의 일을 반드시 하나님께 드리겠습니다."
