1 In the days of Amraphel, king of Shinar; Arioch, king of Ellasar; Chedorlaomer, king of Elam; and Tidal, king of Goiim,And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goiim,시날 왕 아므라벨과 엘라살 왕 아리옥과 엘람 왕 그돌라오멜과 고임 왕 디달의 때에 이런 일이 있었다.
2 they made war with Bera, king of Sodom; Birsha, king of Gomorrah; Shinab, king of Admah; Shemeber, king of Zeboiim; and the king of Bela ( also called Zoar ).that they made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela ( the same is Zoar ).이들이 소돔 왕 베라와 고모라 왕 비르사와 아드마 왕 시납과 스보임 왕 세메벨과 벨라 곧 소알 왕과 전쟁을 벌였다.
3 All these joined together in the valley of Siddim ( also called the Salt Sea ).All these joined together in the vale of Siddim ( the same is the Salt Sea ).이 모든 왕이 싯딤 골짜기 곧 지금의 소금 바다에 함께 모였다.

6 and the Horites in their Mount Seir, to El Paran, which is by the wilderness.and the Horites in their mount Seir, unto El-paran, which is by the wilderness.또 세일 산에 사는 호리 사람을 쳐서 광야 가에 있는 엘바란까지 이르렀다.
7 They returned, and came to En Mishpat ( also called Kadesh ), and struck all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that lived in Hazazon Tamar.And they returned, and came to En-mishpat ( the same is Kadesh ), and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazazon-tamar.그들이 돌이켜 엔미스밧 곧 가데스에 이르러 아말렉 사람의 온 땅을 치고, 또 하사손다말에 사는 아모리 사람도 쳤다.
8 The king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, the king of Admah, the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela ( also called Zoar ) went out; and they set the battle in array against them in the valley of SiddimAnd there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela ( the same is Zoar ); and they set the battle in array against them in the vale of Siddim;그러자 소돔 왕과 고모라 왕과 아드마 왕과 스보임 왕과 벨라 곧 소알 왕이 나와 싯딤 골짜기에서 그들과 맞서 싸우려고 전열을 갖추었다.
9 against Chedorlaomer king of Elam, Tidal king of Goiim, Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings against the five.against Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goiim, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings against the five.엘람 왕 그돌라오멜과 고임 왕 디달과 시날 왕 아므라벨과 엘라살 왕 아리옥, 곧 네 왕이 다섯 왕과 맞서 싸웠다.
10 Now the valley of Siddim was full of tar pits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and some fell there. Those who remained fled to the hills.Now the vale of Siddim was full of slime pits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and they fell there, and they that remained fled to the mountain.그런데 싯딤 골짜기에는 역청 구덩이가 가득하여, 소돔 왕과 고모라 왕이 달아나다가 거기에 빠졌고, 남은 자들은 산으로 도망하였다.
11 They took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their food, and went their way.And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way.네 왕은 소돔과 고모라의 모든 재물과 양식을 빼앗아 가지고 떠나갔다.
12 They took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who lived in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.And they took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.또 소돔에 살고 있던 아브람의 조카 롯과 그의 재물도 빼앗아 가지고 갔다.
13 One who had escaped came and told Abram, the Hebrew. At that time, he lived by the oaks of Mamre, the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and brother of Aner. They were allies of Abram.And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew: now he dwelt by the oaks of Mamre, the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner; and these were confederate with Abram.도망한 한 사람이 와서 히브리 사람 아브람에게 알렸다. 그때 아브람은 아모리 사람 마므레의 상수리나무 곁에 살고 있었는데, 마므레는 에스골과 아넬의 형제로, 이들은 아브람과 동맹을 맺은 사람들이었다.
14 When Abram heard that his relative was taken captive, he led out his three hundred eighteen trained men, born in his house, and pursued as far as Dan.And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he led forth his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued as far as Dan.아브람은 자기 친족이 사로잡혔다는 말을 듣고, 자기 집에서 태어나 훈련받은 사람 삼백십팔 명을 거느리고 단까지 쫓아갔다.
15 He divided himself against them by night, he and his servants, and struck them, and pursued them to Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.And he divided himself against them by night, he and his servants, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.아브람은 자기 종들과 함께 무리를 나누어 밤에 그들을 쳐부수고, 다마스쿠스 왼편에 있는 호바까지 그들을 추격하였다.
16 He brought back all the goods, and also brought back his relative Lot and his goods, and the women also, and the other people.And he brought back all the goods, and also brought back his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.그리하여 모든 재물을 되찾았고, 자기 친족 롯과 그의 재물과 여자들과 사람들도 모두 되찾아 왔다.
17 The king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, at the valley of Shaveh ( that is, the King’s Valley ).And the king of Sodom went out to meet him, after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer and the kings that were with him, at the vale of Shaveh ( the same is the King’s Vale ).아브람이 그돌라오멜과 그와 함께한 왕들을 무찌르고 돌아올 때, 소돔 왕이 사웨 골짜기 곧 왕의 골짜기로 나와 그를 맞이하였다.
18 Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High.And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was priest of God Most High.살렘 왕 멜기세덱이 떡과 포도주를 가지고 나왔는데, 그는 지극히 높으신 하나님의 제사장이었다.
19 He blessed him, and said, “ Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth.And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth:그가 아브람에게 복을 빌어 말하였다. "천지의 주인이신 지극히 높으신 하나님께 아브람이 복을 받으리라.
20 Blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” Abram gave him a tenth of all.and blessed be God Most High, who hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him a tenth of all.네 원수들을 네 손에 넘겨 주신 지극히 높으신 하나님을 찬송하리라." 그러자 아브람이 그에게 모든 것의 십분의 일을 주었다.
21 The king of Sodom said to Abram, “ Give me the people, and take the goods for yourself.”And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.소돔 왕이 아브람에게 말하였다. "사람들은 내게 주고, 재물은 그대가 가지시오."
22 Abram said to the king of Sodom, “ I have lifted up my hand to Yahweh, God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth,And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lifted up my hand unto Jehovah, God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth,그러나 아브람이 소돔 왕에게 말하였다. "천지의 주인이신 지극히 높으신 하나님 여호와께 내가 손을 들어 맹세하였소.
23 that I will not take a thread nor a sandal strap nor anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘ I have made Abram rich.’that I will not take a thread nor a shoe-latchet nor aught that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:그대의 것은 실 한 오라기나 신발 끈 하나라도 내가 취하지 않겠소. 그대가 '내가 아브람을 부유하게 했다'고 말하지 못하게 하려는 것이오.
24 I will accept nothing from you except that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who went with me: Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre. Let them take their portion.”save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men that went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.다만 젊은 사람들이 먹은 것과 나와 함께 간 사람들 곧 아넬과 에스골과 마므레의 몫은 받겠소. 그들이 자기 몫을 가지게 하시오."
