1 Joseph was brought down to Egypt. Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh’s, the captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the hand of the Ishmaelites that had brought him down there.And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh’s, the captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hand of the Ishmaelites, that had brought him down thither.요셉은 이집트로 끌려 내려갔습니다. 파라오의 신하이며 경호대장인 이집트 사람 보디발이, 요셉을 그곳으로 데려온 이스마엘 사람들의 손에서 그를 사들였습니다.
2 Yahweh was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man. He was in the house of his master the Egyptian.And Jehovah was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.여호와께서 요셉과 함께하셨으므로 그는 형통한 사람이 되었고, 자기 주인인 이집트 사람의 집에 머물게 되었습니다.
3 His master saw that Yahweh was with him, and that Yahweh made all that he did prosper in his hand.And his master saw that Jehovah was with him, and that Jehovah made all that he did to prosper in his hand.그의 주인은 여호와께서 요셉과 함께하시며 그가 하는 모든 일을 여호와께서 그의 손에서 형통하게 하시는 것을 보았습니다.
4 Joseph found favor in his sight. He ministered to him, and Potiphar made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.And Joseph found favor in his sight, and he ministered unto him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.요셉이 그의 눈에 은혜를 입어, 주인을 섬기게 되었습니다. 주인은 그를 자기 집의 총관리인으로 세우고, 자기가 가진 모든 것을 그의 손에 맡겼습니다.
5 From the time that he made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, Yahweh blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake. Yahweh’s blessing was on all that he had, in the house and in the field.And it came to pass from the time that he made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that Jehovah blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of Jehovah was upon all that he had, in the house and in the field.주인이 요셉을 자기 집과 자기가 가진 모든 것의 관리인으로 세운 그때부터, 여호와께서 요셉으로 인해 그 이집트 사람의 집에 복을 내리셨습니다. 집 안에 있는 것이든 들에 있는 것이든, 그가 가진 모든 것에 여호와의 복이 임했습니다.
6 He left all that he had in Joseph’s hand. He didn’t concern himself with anything, except for the food which he ate. Joseph was well-built and handsome.And he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand; and he knew not aught that was with him, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was comely, and well-favored.그래서 주인은 자기의 모든 것을 요셉의 손에 맡겨 두고, 자기가 먹는 음식 외에는 아무것도 신경 쓰지 않았습니다. 요셉은 용모가 준수하고 잘생긴 사람이었습니다.
7 After these things, his master’s wife set her eyes on Joseph; and she said, “ Lie with me.”And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.이런 일들이 있은 후, 주인의 아내가 요셉에게 눈길을 두고 "나와 동침하자"라고 말했습니다.
8 But he refused, and said to his master’s wife, “ Behold, my master doesn’t know what is with me in the house, and he has put all that he has into my hand.But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master knoweth not what is with me in the house, and he hath put all that he hath into my hand:그러나 요셉은 거절하며 주인의 아내에게 말했습니다. "보십시오, 제 주인은 집 안에서 제가 무엇을 맡고 있는지조차 신경 쓰지 않으시고, 자기가 가진 모든 것을 제 손에 맡기셨습니다.
9 No one is greater in this house than I am, and he has not kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”he is not greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back anything from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?이 집에서 주인보다 더 큰 사람은 없으며, 주인은 당신을 제외하고는 아무것도 제게서 거두지 않으셨습니다. 당신은 주인의 아내이기 때문입니다. 그러니 제가 어찌 이런 큰 악을 저질러 하나님께 죄를 짓겠습니까?"
10 As she spoke to Joseph day by day, he didn’t listen to her, to lie by her, or to be with her.And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.그 여자가 날마다 요셉에게 말했지만, 요셉은 그 여자의 말을 듣지 않았고, 그 여자 곁에 눕지도, 함께 있지도 않았습니다.
11 About this time, he went into the house to do his work, and there were none of the men of the house inside.And it came to pass about this time, that he went into the house to do his work; and there was none of the men of the house there within.그 무렵, 요셉이 자기 일을 하러 집 안으로 들어갔는데, 그때 집 안에는 다른 종들이 아무도 없었습니다.
12 She caught him by his garment, saying, “ Lie with me!” He left his garment in her hand, and ran outside.And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.그 여자가 요셉의 옷을 붙잡으며 "나와 동침하자!"라고 말했습니다. 그러나 요셉은 자기 옷을 그 여자의 손에 버려둔 채 밖으로 도망쳐 나갔습니다.
13 When she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and had run outside,And it came to pass, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and was fled forth,그 여자는 요셉이 자기 손에 옷을 버려두고 밖으로 도망친 것을 보고,
14 she called to the men of her house, and spoke to them, saying, “ Behold, he has brought a Hebrew in to us to mock us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice.that she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath brought in a Hebrew unto us to mock us: he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice:자기 집 사람들을 불러 그들에게 말했습니다. "보아라, 그가 우리를 희롱하려고 한 히브리 사람을 데려왔구나. 그가 나와 동침하려고 내게 들어왔기에, 내가 큰 소리로 외쳤다.
15 When he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, he left his garment by me, and ran outside.”and it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment by me, and fled, and got him out.그가 내 외치는 소리를 듣더니, 자기 옷을 내 곁에 버려두고 밖으로 도망쳐 나갔다."
16 She laid up his garment by her, until his master came home.And she laid up his garment by her, until his master came home.그 여자는 주인이 집에 돌아올 때까지 요셉의 옷을 자기 곁에 두었습니다.
17 She spoke to him according to these words, saying, “ The Hebrew servant, whom you have brought to us, came in to me to mock me,And she spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant, whom thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me:그러고는 주인에게 이렇게 말했습니다. "당신이 우리에게 데려온 히브리 종이 나를 희롱하려고 내게 들어왔습니다.
18 and as I lifted up my voice and cried, he left his garment by me, and ran outside.”and it came to pass, as I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment by me, and fled out.그래서 내가 소리를 높여 외쳤더니, 그가 자기 옷을 내 곁에 버려두고 밖으로 도망쳤습니다."
19 When his master heard the words of his wife, which she spoke to him, saying, “ This is what your servant did to me,” his wrath was kindled.And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled.주인은 "당신의 종이 내게 이렇게 했습니다"라고 하는 아내의 말을 듣고 분노가 타올랐습니다.
20 Joseph’s master took him, and put him into the prison, the place where the king’s prisoners were bound, and he was there in custody.And Joseph’s master took him, and put him into the prison, the place where the king’s prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison.요셉의 주인은 그를 붙잡아 감옥, 곧 왕의 죄수들이 갇히는 곳에 넣었습니다. 그리하여 요셉은 그 감옥에 갇히게 되었습니다.
21 But Yahweh was with Joseph, and showed kindness to him, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.But Jehovah was with Joseph, and showed kindness unto him, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.그러나 여호와께서 요셉과 함께하시며 그에게 인자를 베푸시고, 간수장의 눈에 은혜를 입게 하셨습니다.
22 The keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners who were in the prison. Whatever they did there, he was responsible for it.And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it.간수장은 감옥에 갇힌 모든 죄수를 요셉의 손에 맡겼고, 거기서 행해지는 모든 일을 요셉이 책임지게 했습니다.
23 The keeper of the prison didn’t look after anything that was under his hand, because Yahweh was with him; and that which he did, Yahweh made it prosper.The keeper of the prison looked not to anything that was under his hand, because Jehovah was with him; and that which he did, Jehovah made it to prosper.여호와께서 요셉과 함께하셨으므로, 간수장은 요셉의 손에 맡긴 것은 무엇도 살피지 않았습니다. 요셉이 하는 일은 여호와께서 형통하게 하셨습니다.
