1 Abraham took another wife, and her name was Keturah.And Abraham took another wife, and her name was Keturah.아브라함은 또 다른 아내를 맞이했는데, 그녀의 이름은 그두라였다.
2 She bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.그녀는 아브라함에게 시므란과 욕산과 므단과 미디안과 이스박과 수아를 낳아 주었다.
3 Jokshan became the father of Sheba, and Dedan. The sons of Dedan were Asshurim, Letushim, and Leummim.And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.욕산은 스바와 드단을 낳았고, 드단의 자손은 앗수르 사람과 르두시 사람과 르움미 사람이었다.
4 The sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.And the sons of Midian: Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.미디안의 아들들은 에바와 에벨과 하녹과 아비다와 엘다아였다. 이들은 모두 그두라의 자손이었다.
5 Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac,And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.아브라함은 자기가 가진 모든 것을 이삭에게 주었다.
6 but Abraham gave gifts to the sons of Abraham’s concubines. While he still lived, he sent them away from Isaac his son, eastward, to the east country.But unto the sons of the concubines, that Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts; and he sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.그러나 아브라함은 자기 첩들의 아들들에게는 재물을 주어, 자기가 아직 살아 있을 때에 그들을 자기 아들 이삭에게서 떠나 동쪽으로, 곧 동방 땅으로 보냈다.
7 These are the days of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived: one hundred seventy-five years.And these are the days of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived, a hundred threescore and fifteen years.아브라함이 살아온 생애의 햇수는 백칠십오 년이었다.
8 Abraham gave up his spirit, and died at a good old age, an old man, and full of years, and was gathered to his people.And Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years, and was gathered to his people.아브라함은 나이가 들어 좋은 노년에 늙고 장수하여 숨을 거두고 죽어 자기 조상들에게로 돌아갔다.
9 Isaac and Ishmael, his sons, buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron, the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is near Mamre,And Isaac and Ishmael his sons buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;그의 아들 이삭과 이스마엘이 그를 막벨라 굴에 장사했는데, 그곳은 마므레 앞 헷 사람 소할의 아들 에브론의 밭에 있었다.
10 the field which Abraham purchased from the children of Heth. Abraham was buried there with Sarah, his wife.the field which Abraham purchased of the children of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.그 밭은 아브라함이 헷 자손에게서 산 것이었다. 아브라함은 거기에 그의 아내 사라와 함께 묻혔다.
11 After the death of Abraham, God blessed Isaac, his son. Isaac lived by Beer Lahai Roi.And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed Isaac his son: and Isaac dwelt by Beer-lahai-roi.아브라함이 죽은 뒤에 하나님께서 그의 아들 이삭에게 복을 주셨다. 이삭은 브엘라해로이 근처에 살았다.
12 Now this is the history of the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s servant, bore to Abraham.Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid, bare unto Abraham:사라의 여종인 이집트 사람 하갈이 아브라함에게 낳아 준 아브라함의 아들 이스마엘의 족보는 이러하다.
13 These are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to the order of their birth: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth, then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,and these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the first-born of Ishmael, Nebaioth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,이스마엘의 아들들의 이름은 그 이름과 태어난 순서에 따라 이러하다. 이스마엘의 맏아들은 느바욧이고, 그 다음은 게달과 앗브엘과 밉삼과
14 Mishma, Dumah, Massa,and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,미스마와 두마와 맛사와
15 Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah.Hadad, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:하닷과 데마와 여둘과 나비스와 게드마였다.
16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their villages, and by their encampments: twelve princes, according to their nations.these are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their villages, and by their encampments; twelve princes according to their nations.이들은 이스마엘의 아들들이며, 이것이 그들의 이름이다. 그들은 자기들의 마을과 진영에 따라 살았으니, 그 부족대로 열두 지도자였다.
17 These are the years of the life of Ishmael: one hundred thirty-seven years. He gave up his spirit and died, and was gathered to his people.And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, a hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died, and was gathered unto his people.이스마엘이 살아온 생애의 햇수는 백삼십칠 년이었다. 그는 숨을 거두고 죽어 자기 조상들에게로 돌아갔다.
18 They lived from Havilah to Shur that is before Egypt, as you go toward Assyria. He lived opposite all his relatives.And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: he abode over against all his brethren.그들은 하윌라에서부터 이집트 앞 술까지, 곧 앗수르로 가는 길목에 걸쳐 살았다. 이스마엘은 자기의 모든 친족과 마주하여 살았다.
19 This is the history of the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son. Abraham became the father of Isaac.And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham begat Isaac:아브라함의 아들 이삭의 족보는 이러하다. 아브라함은 이삭을 낳았다.
20 Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Paddan Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian, to be his wife.and Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Paddan-aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian, to be his wife.이삭은 마흔 살에 밧단아람 출신 아람 사람 브두엘의 딸이며 아람 사람 라반의 누이인 리브가를 아내로 맞이했다.
21 Isaac entreated Yahweh for his wife, because she was barren. Yahweh was entreated by him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.And Isaac entreated Jehovah for his wife, because she was barren: and Jehovah was entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.이삭은 자기 아내가 임신하지 못하므로 그녀를 위하여 여호와께 간구하니, 여호와께서 그의 간구를 들어주셔서 그의 아내 리브가가 임신했다.
22 The children struggled together within her. She said, “ If it is like this, why do I live?” She went to inquire of Yahweh.And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, wherefore do I live? And she went to inquire of Jehovah.그런데 아이들이 그녀의 태 안에서 서로 부딪쳤다. 그래서 그녀가 "이럴 거면 내가 어찌 살아가겠는가" 하고 여호와께 여쭈러 갔다.
23 Yahweh said to her, “ Two nations are in your womb. Two peoples will be separated from your body. The one people will be stronger than the other people. The elder will serve the younger.”And Jehovah said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, And two peoples shall be separated from thy bowels: And the one people shall be stronger than the other people; And the elder shall serve the younger.여호와께서 그녀에게 말씀하셨다. "두 민족이 네 태 안에 있고, 두 백성이 네 몸에서 갈라져 나올 것이다. 한 백성이 다른 백성보다 강할 것이며, 형이 동생을 섬길 것이다."
24 When her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.그녀가 해산할 날이 차니, 보라, 그녀의 태에는 쌍둥이가 있었다.
25 The first came out red all over, like a hairy garment. They named him Esau.And the first came forth red, all over like a hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.먼저 나온 아이는 온몸이 붉고 털옷처럼 털이 많았으므로, 그 이름을 에서라고 지었다.
26 After that, his brother came out, and his hand had hold on Esau’s heel. He was named Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them.And after that came forth his brother, and his hand had hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.그 후에 그의 동생이 나왔는데, 그의 손이 에서의 발뒤꿈치를 잡고 있었으므로 그의 이름을 야곱이라고 지었다. 이들을 낳을 때에 이삭은 예순 살이었다.
27 The boys grew. Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field. Jacob was a quiet man, living in tents.And the boys grew: and Esau was a skilful hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a quiet man, dwelling in tents.그 아이들이 자랐다. 에서는 능숙한 사냥꾼이며 들사람이 되었고, 야곱은 조용한 사람으로 장막에 머물러 살았다.
28 Now Isaac loved Esau, because he ate his venison. Rebekah loved Jacob.Now Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: and Rebekah loved Jacob.이삭은 에서가 사냥한 고기를 즐겨 먹었으므로 에서를 사랑했고, 리브가는 야곱을 사랑했다.
29 Jacob boiled stew. Esau came in from the field, and he was famished.And Jacob boiled pottage: and Esau came in from the field, and he was faint:한번은 야곱이 죽을 끓이고 있었는데, 에서가 들에서 돌아와 몹시 허기져 있었다.
30 Esau said to Jacob, “ Please feed me with some of that red stew, for I am famished.” Therefore his name was called Edom.and Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.에서가 야곱에게 말했다. "내가 허기지니, 그 붉은 죽을 좀 먹게 해 다오." 그래서 그의 이름을 에돔이라고도 불렀다.
31 Jacob said, “ First, sell me your birthright.”And Jacob said, Sell me first thy birthright.야곱이 말했다. "먼저 형의 장자권을 내게 파시오."
32 Esau said, “ Behold, I am about to die. What good is the birthright to me?”And Esau said, Behold, I am about to die: and what profit shall the birthright do to me?에서가 말했다. "내가 지금 죽을 지경인데, 이 장자권이 내게 무슨 소용이 있겠느냐?"
33 Jacob said, “ Swear to me first.” He swore to him. He sold his birthright to Jacob.And Jacob said, Swear to me first; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.야곱이 말했다. "먼저 내게 맹세하시오." 그러자 에서가 야곱에게 맹세하고 자기의 장자권을 야곱에게 팔았다.
34 Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew. He ate and drank, rose up, and went his way. So Esau despised his birthright.And Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentils; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: so Esau despised his birthright.야곱이 에서에게 빵과 팥죽을 주니, 에서가 먹고 마신 뒤에 일어나 가 버렸다. 이렇게 에서는 자기의 장자권을 가볍게 여겼다.
