1 “ However, Job, please hear my speech, and listen to all my words.Howbeit, Job, I pray thee, hear my speech, And hearken to all my words.그러나 욥이여, 부디 내 말을 들어 주십시오. 내가 하는 모든 말에 귀를 기울여 주십시오.
2 See now, I have opened my mouth. My tongue has spoken in my mouth.Behold now, I have opened my mouth; My tongue hath spoken in my mouth.보십시오, 이제 내가 입을 열었습니다. 내 입 안에서 내 혀가 말하고 있습니다.
3 My words will utter the uprightness of my heart. That which my lips know they will speak sincerely.My words shall utter the uprightness of my heart; And that which my lips know they shall speak sincerely.내 말은 내 마음의 정직함을 드러낼 것이며, 내 입술이 아는 것을 진실하게 말할 것입니다.
4 The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.The Spirit of God hath made me, And the breath of the Almighty giveth me life.하나님의 영이 나를 지으셨고, 전능하신 분의 숨결이 나에게 생명을 주십니다.
5 If you can, answer me. Set your words in order before me, and stand up.If thou canst, answer thou me; Set thy words in order before me, stand forth.할 수 있거든 나에게 대답하십시오. 내 앞에서 당신의 말을 정돈하고 일어서 보십시오.
6 Behold, I am toward God even as you are. I am also formed out of the clay.Behold, I am toward God even as thou art: I also am formed out of the clay.보십시오, 나도 하나님 앞에서는 당신과 똑같은 사람입니다. 나 또한 흙으로 빚어졌습니다.
7 Behold, my terror will not make you afraid, neither will my pressure be heavy on you.Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, Neither shall my pressure be heavy upon thee.보십시오, 나의 위협이 당신을 두렵게 하지 않을 것이며, 내가 누르는 무게가 당신에게 무겁지 않을 것입니다.
8 “ Surely you have spoken in my hearing, I have heard the voice of your words, saying,Surely thou hast spoken in my hearing, And I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,분명히 당신은 내가 듣는 데서 말했고, 나는 당신의 말소리를 들었습니다. 이르기를,
9 ‘ I am clean, without disobedience. I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me.I am clean, without transgression; I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me:'나는 깨끗하고 거역함이 없으며, 나는 무죄하여 내 안에 죄악이 없다.
10 Behold, he finds occasions against me. He counts me for his enemy.Behold, he findeth occasions against me, He counteth me for his enemy;보라, 그분이 나를 칠 구실을 찾으시고, 나를 자신의 원수로 여기신다.
11 He puts my feet in the stocks. He marks all my paths.’He putteth my feet in the stocks, He marketh all my paths.그분이 내 발을 차꼬에 채우시고, 내 모든 길을 살피신다' 하였습니다.
12 “ Behold, I will answer you. In this you are not just, for God is greater than man.Behold, I will answer thee, in this thou art not just; For God is greater than man.보십시오, 내가 당신에게 대답하겠습니다. 이 점에서 당신은 옳지 않습니다. 하나님은 사람보다 크시기 때문입니다.
13 Why do you strive against him, because he doesn’t give account of any of his matters?Why dost thou strive against him, For that he giveth not account of any of his matters?어찌하여 당신은 그분과 다투려 합니까? 그분이 자신의 일을 하나하나 설명해 주지 않으신다고 해서 말입니다.
14 For God speaks once, yes twice, though man pays no attention.For God speaketh once, Yea twice, though man regardeth it not.하나님은 한 번, 아니 두 번 말씀하시지만, 사람은 그것에 주의를 기울이지 않습니다.
15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, in slumbering on the bed,In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falleth upon men, In slumberings upon the bed;밤의 환상 중에, 사람들이 깊이 잠들 때, 침상에서 졸 때, 꿈속에서,
16 then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction,Then he openeth the ears of men, And sealeth their instruction,그때에 그분은 사람들의 귀를 여시고, 그들에게 주는 교훈을 확실히 새겨 주십니다.
17 that he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.That he may withdraw man from his purpose, And hide pride from man;이는 사람을 그릇된 계획에서 돌이키게 하시고, 사람에게서 교만을 감추시려는 것입니다.
18 He keeps back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.He keepeth back his soul from the pit, And his life from perishing by the sword.그분은 그의 영혼을 구덩이에서 지키시고, 그의 생명이 칼에 멸망당하지 않게 하십니다.
19 “ He is chastened also with pain on his bed, with continual strife in his bones,He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, And with continual strife in his bones;또한 그는 침상에서 고통으로 징계를 받으며, 그의 뼛속에 끊임없는 다툼이 있습니다.
20 so that his life abhors bread, and his soul dainty food.So that his life abhorreth bread, And his soul dainty food.그래서 그의 생명은 음식을 싫어하고, 그의 영혼은 별미를 싫어합니다.
21 His flesh is so consumed away that it can’t be seen. His bones that were not seen stick out.His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; And his bones that were not seen stick out.그의 살은 보이지 않을 만큼 깎여 나가고, 보이지 않던 그의 뼈들이 드러납니다.
22 Yes, his soul draws near to the pit, and his life to the destroyers.Yea, his soul draweth near unto the pit, And his life to the destroyers.그렇습니다, 그의 영혼은 구덩이에 가까워지고, 그의 생명은 멸하는 자들에게 가까워집니다.
23 “ If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him,If there be with him an angel, An interpreter, one among a thousand, To show unto man what is right for him;만일 그 곁에 한 천사, 곧 천 명 가운데 하나인 중보자가 있어, 사람에게 무엇이 옳은지 보여 준다면,
24 then God is gracious to him, and says, ‘ Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.’Then God is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.그때에 하나님은 그에게 은혜를 베푸시며 말씀하십니다. '그를 구덩이로 내려가지 않게 건지라. 내가 대속물을 찾았다' 하고 말입니다.
25 His flesh will be fresher than a child’s. He returns to the days of his youth.His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s; He returneth to the days of his youth.그러면 그의 살은 어린아이의 살보다 신선해지고, 그는 청년의 날로 돌아갑니다.
26 He prays to God, and he is favorable to him, so that he sees his face with joy. He restores to man his righteousness.He prayeth unto God, and he is favorable unto him, So that he seeth his face with joy: And he restoreth unto man his righteousness.그가 하나님께 기도하면 하나님이 그를 기쁘게 받으시니, 그가 기쁨으로 그분의 얼굴을 뵙게 됩니다. 그분이 사람에게 그의 의를 회복시켜 주십니다.
27 He sings before men, and says, ‘ I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it didn’t profit me.He singeth before men, and saith, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, And it profited me not:그는 사람들 앞에서 노래하며 말합니다. '내가 죄를 지어 옳은 것을 굽게 하였으나, 그것이 나에게 유익하지 못하였다.
28 He has redeemed my soul from going into the pit. My life will see the light.’He hath redeemed my soul from going into the pit, And my life shall behold the light.그분이 내 영혼을 구덩이에 빠지지 않도록 구속하셨으니, 내 생명이 빛을 보리라' 하고 말입니다.
29 “ Behold, God does all these things, twice, yes three times, with a man,Lo, all these things doth God work, Twice, yea thrice, with a man,보십시오, 하나님은 이 모든 일을 두 번, 아니 세 번이라도 사람에게 행하십니다.
30 to bring back his soul from the pit, that he may be enlightened with the light of the living.To bring back his soul from the pit, That he may be enlightened with the light of the living.그의 영혼을 구덩이에서 돌이키게 하시고, 산 자의 빛으로 그를 비추시려는 것입니다.
31 Mark well, Job, and listen to me. Hold your peace, and I will speak.Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: Hold thy peace, and I will speak.욥이여, 잘 새겨 듣고 나에게 귀를 기울이십시오. 잠잠하십시오, 그러면 내가 말하겠습니다.
32 If you have anything to say, answer me. Speak, for I desire to justify you.If thou hast anything to say, answer me: Speak, for I desire to justify thee.할 말이 있거든 나에게 대답하십시오. 말씀하십시오, 나는 당신이 옳다 함을 받기를 바랍니다.
33 If not, listen to me. Hold your peace, and I will teach you wisdom.”If not, hearken thou unto me: Hold thy peace, and I will teach thee wisdom.그렇지 않거든 나에게 귀를 기울이십시오. 잠잠하십시오, 그러면 내가 당신에게 지혜를 가르치겠습니다.
