Job again took up his parable, and said,And Job again took up his parable, and said,욥이 다시 자신의 잠언을 이어 말하였다.
“ Oh that I were as in the months of old, as in the days when God watched over me;Oh that I were as in the months of old, As in the days when God watched over me;"아, 지난 날들처럼, 하나님께서 나를 지켜 주시던 그 시절처럼 내가 다시 그러할 수 있다면.
when his lamp shone on my head, and by his light I walked through darkness,When his lamp shined upon my head, And by his light I walked through darkness;그분의 등불이 내 머리 위를 비추고, 그 빛으로 내가 어둠 속을 걸어가던 때처럼 말이다.
as I was in my prime, when the friendship of God was in my tent,As I was in the ripeness of my days, When the friendship of God was upon my tent;내 인생이 무르익었던 그때, 하나님의 우정이 내 장막 안에 머물던 그때처럼.
when the Almighty was yet with me, and my children were around me,When the Almighty was yet with me, And my children were about me;전능하신 분께서 아직 나와 함께 계시고, 내 자녀들이 내 곁에 둘러 있던 그때처럼.
when my steps were washed with butter, and the rock poured out streams of oil for me,When my steps were washed with butter, And the rock poured me out streams of oil!
when I went out to the city gate, when I prepared my seat in the street. When I went forth to the gate unto the city, When I prepared my seat in the street,내가 성문으로 나아가, 광장에 내 자리를 마련하던 그때처럼.
The young men saw me and hid themselves. The aged rose up and stood. The young men saw me and hid themselves, And the aged rose up and stood;
The princes refrained from talking, and laid their hand on their mouth. The princes refrained from talking, And laid their hand on their mouth;
The voice of the nobles was hushed, and their tongue stuck to the roof of their mouth. The voice of the nobles was hushed, And their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth.
For when the ear heard me, then it blessed me, and when the eye saw me, it commended me,For when the ear heard me, then it blessed me; And when the eye saw me, it gave witness unto me:귀가 내 말을 들으면 나를 복되다 하였고, 눈이 나를 보면 나를 칭찬하였다.
because I delivered the poor who cried, and the fatherless also, who had no one to help him,Because I delivered the poor that cried, The fatherless also, that had none to help him.
the blessing of him who was ready to perish came on me, and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me; And I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.
I put on righteousness, and it clothed me. My justice was as a robe and a diadem.I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: My justice was as a robe and a diadem.
I was eyes to the blind, and feet to the lame.I was eyes to the blind, And feet was I to the lame.
I was a father to the needy. I researched the cause of him whom I didn’t know.I was a father to the needy: And the cause of him that I knew not I searched out.
I broke the jaws of the unrighteous and plucked the prey out of his teeth. And I brake the jaws of the unrighteous, And plucked the prey out of his teeth.
Then I said, ‘ I will die in my own house, I will count my days as the sand. Then I said, I shall die in my nest, And I shall multiply my days as the sand:그래서 나는 말하였다.
My root is spread out to the waters. The dew lies all night on my branch. My root is spread out to the waters, And the dew lieth all night upon my branch:
My glory is fresh in me. My bow is renewed in my hand.’My glory is fresh in me, And my bow is renewed in my hand.
“Men listened to me, waited, and kept silence for my counsel.Unto me men gave ear, and waited, And kept silence for my counsel.
After my words they didn’t speak again. My speech fell on them. After my words they spake not again; And my speech distilled upon them.
They waited for me as for the rain. Their mouths drank as with the spring rain. And they waited for me as for the rain; And they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.
I smiled on them when they had no confidence. They didn’t reject the light of my face.I smiled on them, when they had no confidence; And the light of my countenance they cast not down.
I chose out their way, and sat as chief. I lived as a king in the army, as one who comforts the mourners.I chose out their way, and sat as chief, And dwelt as a king in the army, As one that comforteth the mourners.
