1 “ Behold, my eye has seen all this. My ear has heard and understood it.Lo, mine eye hath seen all this, Mine ear hath heard and understood it.보라, 내 눈은 이 모든 것을 다 보았고, 내 귀는 그것을 듣고 깨달았다.
2 What you know, I know also. I am not inferior to you.What ye know, the same do I know also: I am not inferior unto you.너희가 아는 것은 나도 안다. 나는 너희보다 못하지 않다.
3 “ Surely I would speak to the Almighty. I desire to reason with God.Surely I would speak to the Almighty, And I desire to reason with God.그러나 나는 전능하신 분께 말씀드리고 싶다. 나는 하나님과 변론하기를 바란다.
4 But you are forgers of lies. You are all physicians of no value.But ye are forgers of lies; Ye are all physicians of no value.그런데 너희는 거짓말을 지어내는 자들이요, 너희는 다 쓸모없는 의원들이다.
5 Oh that you would be completely silent! Then you would be wise.Oh that ye would altogether hold your peace! And it would be your wisdom.너희가 아주 잠잠하기만 해도 좋겠다! 그것이 너희의 지혜가 될 것이다.
6 Hear now my reasoning. Listen to the pleadings of my lips.Hear now my reasoning, And hearken to the pleadings of my lips.이제 내 변론을 들어 보아라. 내 입술의 호소에 귀를 기울여라.
7 Will you speak unrighteously for God, and talk deceitfully for him?Will ye speak unrighteously for God, And talk deceitfully for him?너희가 하나님을 위한다며 의롭지 못하게 말하고, 그분을 위한다며 속임수로 말하려느냐?
8 Will you show partiality to him? Will you contend for God?Will ye show partiality to him? Will ye contend for God?너희가 그분의 편을 들어 두둔하려느냐? 너희가 하나님을 위해 변론하려느냐?
9 Is it good that he should search you out? Or as one deceives a man, will you deceive him?Is it good that he should search you out? Or as one deceiveth a man, will ye deceive him?그분이 너희를 살피신다면 그것이 너희에게 좋겠느냐? 사람을 속이듯이 너희가 그분을 속일 수 있겠느냐?
10 He will surely reprove you if you secretly show partiality.He will surely reprove you, If ye do secretly show partiality.너희가 은밀히 편을 든다면, 그분이 반드시 너희를 책망하실 것이다.
11 Won’t his majesty make you afraid and his dread fall on you?Shall not his majesty make you afraid, And his dread fall upon you?그분의 위엄이 너희를 두렵게 하지 않겠느냐? 그분에 대한 두려움이 너희에게 임하지 않겠느냐?
12 Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ashes. Your defenses are defenses of clay.Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ashes, Your defences are defences of clay.너희가 기억할 만하다는 말들은 잿더미 같은 격언이요, 너희의 방어 논리는 진흙으로 쌓은 방벽일 뿐이다.
13 “ Be silent! Leave me alone, that I may speak. Let come on me what will.Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak; And let come on me what will.잠잠하고 나를 내버려 두어라. 내가 말하게 하라. 그러면 무슨 일이 내게 닥치든 받겠다.
14 Why should I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in my hand?Wherefore should I take my flesh in my teeth, And put my life in my hand?어찌하여 내가 내 살을 내 이로 물고, 내 목숨을 내 손에 쥐겠느냐?
15 Behold, he will kill me. I have no hope. Nevertheless, I will maintain my ways before him.Behold, he will slay me; I have no hope: Nevertheless I will maintain my ways before him.보라, 그분이 나를 죽이실지라도 나는 그분을 의지하겠다. 그럴지라도 나는 그분 앞에서 내 길을 변호하겠다.
16 This also will be my salvation, that a godless man will not come before him.This also shall be my salvation, That a godless man shall not come before him.이것이 또한 나의 구원이 될 것이니, 경건하지 않은 자는 그분 앞에 나아오지 못할 것이기 때문이다.
17 Listen carefully to my speech. Let my declaration be in your ears.Hear diligently my speech, And let my declaration be in your ears.내 말을 귀담아들어라. 내 진술이 너희 귀에 들어가게 하라.
18 See now, I have set my cause in order. I know that I am righteous.Behold now, I have set my cause in order; I know that I am righteous.이제 보라, 내가 내 송사를 정연하게 준비하였으니, 나는 내가 의롭다는 것을 안다.
19 Who is he who will contend with me? For then I would hold my peace and give up the spirit.Who is he that will contend with me? For then would I hold my peace and give up the ghost.누가 나와 다툴 수 있겠느냐? 만일 있다면 나는 잠잠하고 목숨을 내려놓겠다.
20 “Only don’t do two things to me, then I will not hide myself from your face:Only do not two things unto me; Then will I not hide myself from thy face:다만 두 가지만은 내게 행하지 마소서. 그러면 내가 주의 얼굴을 피하여 숨지 않겠습니다.
21 withdraw your hand far from me, and don’t let your terror make me afraid.Withdraw thy hand far from me; And let not thy terror make me afraid.주의 손을 내게서 멀리 거두시고, 주에 대한 두려움이 나를 떨게 하지 마소서.
22 Then call, and I will answer, or let me speak, and you answer me.Then call thou, and I will answer; Or let me speak, and answer thou me.그런 뒤에 부르시면 내가 대답하겠고, 아니면 내가 말하게 하시고 주께서 내게 대답하소서.
23 How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me know my disobedience and my sin.How many are mine iniquities and sins? Make me to know my transgression and my sin.내 허물과 죄가 얼마나 됩니까? 나의 거역과 나의 죄를 내게 알게 하소서.
24 Why do you hide your face, and consider me your enemy?Wherefore hidest thou thy face, And holdest me for thine enemy?어찌하여 주의 얼굴을 숨기시고 나를 주의 원수로 여기십니까?
25 Will you harass a driven leaf? Will you pursue the dry stubble?Wilt thou harass a driven leaf? And wilt thou pursue the dry stubble?주께서 바람에 날리는 나뭇잎을 괴롭히려 하십니까? 마른 검불을 뒤쫓으려 하십니까?
26 For you write bitter things against me, and make me inherit the iniquities of my youth.For thou writest bitter things against me, And makest me to inherit the iniquities of my youth:주께서 나를 거슬러 쓰라린 것들을 기록하시고, 내 젊은 시절의 허물을 내게 물려받게 하십니다.
27 You also put my feet in the stocks, and mark all my paths. You set a bound to the soles of my feet,Thou puttest my feet also in the stocks, And markest all my paths; Thou settest a bound to the soles of my feet:주께서 또 내 발을 차꼬에 채우시고, 내 모든 길을 살피시며, 내 발바닥에 자국을 두어 한계를 그으십니다.
28 though I am decaying like a rotten thing, like a garment that is moth-eaten.Though I am like a rotten thing that consumeth, Like a garment that is moth-eaten.그러나 나는 썩은 것처럼 무너져 가고, 좀먹은 옷처럼 닳아 가는 자입니다.
