1 Then Zophar the Naamathite answered,Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,그때에 나아마 사람 소발이 대답하여 말하였다.
2 “ Therefore my thoughts answer me, even by reason of my haste that is in me.Therefore do my thoughts give answer to me, Even by reason of my haste that is in me.내 마음이 동요하여 나로 하여금 대답하게 하니, 이는 내 속에 있는 조급함 때문이다.
3 I have heard the reproof which puts me to shame. The spirit of my understanding answers me.I have heard the reproof which putteth me to shame; And the spirit of my understanding answereth me.나를 부끄럽게 하는 책망을 내가 들었으나, 내 깨달음의 영이 내게 대답하는구나.
4 Don’t you know this from old time, since man was placed on earth,Knowest thou not this of old time, Since man was placed upon earth,너는 알지 못하느냐, 사람이 땅 위에 놓인 옛적부터,
5 that the triumphing of the wicked is short, the joy of the godless but for a moment?That the triumphing of the wicked is short, And the joy of the godless but for a moment?악인의 승리는 짧고 경건치 못한 자의 기쁨은 한순간일 뿐이라는 것을.
6 Though his height mount up to the heavens, and his head reach to the clouds,Though his height mount up to the heavens, And his head reach unto the clouds;비록 그의 위엄이 하늘까지 치솟고 그의 머리가 구름에 닿을지라도,
7 yet he will perish forever like his own dung. Those who have seen him will say, ‘Where is he?’Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: They that have seen him shall say, Where is he?그는 자기 똥처럼 영원히 멸망할 것이니, 그를 보던 자들이 말하기를 '그가 어디 있느냐' 하리라.
8 He will fly away as a dream, and will not be found. Yes, he will be chased away like a vision of the night.He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: Yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.그는 꿈처럼 날아가 다시는 보이지 않고, 밤의 환상처럼 쫓겨나리라.
9 The eye which saw him will see him no more, neither will his place see him any more.The eye which saw him shall see him no more; Neither shall his place any more behold him.그를 보던 눈이 다시는 그를 보지 못하고, 그가 있던 곳도 다시는 그를 보지 못하리라.
10 His children will seek the favor of the poor. His hands will give back his wealth.His children shall seek the favor of the poor, And his hands shall give back his wealth.그의 자식들은 가난한 자들에게 은혜를 구할 것이요, 그의 손은 자기가 빼앗은 재물을 도로 내어 주리라.
11 His bones are full of his youth, but youth will lie down with him in the dust.His bones are full of his youth, But it shall lie down with him in the dust.그의 뼈는 젊음의 기운으로 가득 차 있으나, 그 젊음이 그와 함께 흙 속에 누우리라.
12 “Though wickedness is sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue,Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, Though he hide it under his tongue,비록 악이 그의 입에 달아서 그가 그것을 혀 밑에 감추며,
13 though he spare it, and will not let it go, but keep it still within his mouth,Though he spare it, and will not let it go, But keep it still within his mouth;아껴서 놓지 아니하고 입 속에 그대로 머금을지라도,
14 yet his food in his bowels is turned. It is cobra venom within him.Yet his food in his bowels is turned, It is the gall of asps within him.그 음식이 그의 뱃속에서 변하여 그 속에서 독사의 독이 되리라.
15 He has swallowed down riches, and he will vomit them up again. God will cast them out of his belly.He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again; God will cast them out of his belly.그가 재물을 삼켰으나 다시 토해 내리니, 하나님께서 그의 뱃속에서 그것을 쏟아 내게 하시리라.
16 He will suck cobra venom. The viper’s tongue will kill him.He shall suck the poison of asps: The viper’s tongue shall slay him.그가 독사의 독을 빨아들이리니, 살무사의 혀가 그를 죽이리라.
17 He will not look at the rivers, the flowing streams of honey and butter.He shall not look upon the rivers, The flowing streams of honey and butter.그는 시냇물을, 곧 꿀과 버터가 흐르는 강을 보지 못하리라.
18 He will restore that for which he labored, and will not swallow it down. He will not rejoice according to the substance that he has gotten.That which he labored for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down; According to the substance that he hath gotten, he shall not rejoice.그가 수고하여 얻은 것을 도로 돌려주고 삼키지 못하며, 그가 모은 재물을 따라 기뻐하지 못하리라.
19 For he has oppressed and forsaken the poor. He has violently taken away a house, and he will not build it up.For he hath oppressed and forsaken the poor; He hath violently taken away a house, and he shall not build it up.이는 그가 가난한 자를 학대하고 버렸으며, 집을 강제로 빼앗았으나 그것을 세우지 못함이라.
20 “ Because he knew no quietness within him, he will not save anything of that in which he delights.Because he knew no quietness within him, He shall not save aught of that wherein he delighteth.그가 자기 속에 만족을 알지 못하였으므로, 자기가 좋아하던 것 가운데 아무것도 건지지 못하리라.
21 There was nothing left that he didn’t devour, therefore his prosperity will not endure.There was nothing left that he devoured not; Therefore his prosperity shall not endure.그가 삼키지 않고 남긴 것이 없었으니, 그러므로 그의 번영은 오래가지 못하리라.
22 In the fullness of his sufficiency, distress will overtake him. The hand of everyone who is in misery will come on him.In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: The hand of every one that is in misery shall come upon him.그의 풍족함이 가득할 때에 곤경이 그를 덮치고, 고난당하는 모든 자의 손이 그에게 미치리라.
23 When he is about to fill his belly, God will cast the fierceness of his wrath on him. It will rain on him while he is eating.When he is about to fill his belly, God will cast the fierceness of his wrath upon him, And will rain it upon him while he is eating.그가 막 배를 채우려 할 때에 하나님께서 그의 맹렬한 진노를 그에게 쏟으시고, 그가 먹고 있는 동안 그 진노를 그 위에 비처럼 내리시리라.
24 He will flee from the iron weapon. The bronze arrow will strike him through.He shall flee from the iron weapon, And the bow of brass shall strike him through.그가 쇠 무기를 피하여 달아날지라도, 놋 화살이 그를 꿰뚫으리라.
25 He draws it out, and it comes out of his body. Yes, the glittering point comes out of his liver. Terrors are on him.He draweth it forth, and it cometh out of his body; Yea, the glittering point cometh out of his gall: Terrors are upon him.그가 그것을 빼내니 그의 몸에서 나오고, 번쩍이는 살촉이 그의 간에서 나오니, 두려움이 그를 덮치리라.
26 All darkness is laid up for his treasures. An unfanned fire will devour him. It will consume that which is left in his tent.All darkness is laid up for his treasures: A fire not blown by man shall devour him; It shall consume that which is left in his tent.온갖 어둠이 그의 보물을 위하여 쌓여 있고, 사람이 부치지 않은 불이 그를 삼키며, 그의 장막에 남은 것을 살라 버리리라.
27 The heavens will reveal his iniquity. The earth will rise up against him.The heavens shall reveal his iniquity, And the earth shall rise up against him.하늘이 그의 죄악을 드러내고, 땅이 일어나 그를 대적하리라.
28 The increase of his house will depart. They will rush away in the day of his wrath.The increase of his house shall depart; His goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath.그의 집의 소산이 떠나가고, 하나님의 진노의 날에 모든 것이 흘러가 버리리라.
29 This is the portion of a wicked man from God, the heritage appointed to him by God.”This is the portion of a wicked man from God, And the heritage appointed unto him by God.이것이 악인이 하나님께로부터 받는 몫이요, 하나님께서 그에게 정하신 유업이라.
