1 Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, with Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took some men.Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, with Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men:레위의 증손이요 고핫의 손자요 이스할의 아들인 고라가 르우벤 자손인 엘리압의 아들 다단과 아비람, 그리고 벨렛의 아들 온과 함께 사람들을 끌어모았다.
2 They rose up before Moses, with some of the children of Israel, two hundred fifty princes of the congregation, called to the assembly, men of renown.and they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the congregation, called to the assembly, men of renown;그들은 모세 앞에 일어나, 이스라엘 자손 가운데서 회중이 뽑아 모임에 불려온 지도자 이백오십 명, 곧 이름난 사람들과 함께 들고일어났다.
3 They assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, “ You take too much on yourself, since all the congregation are holy, everyone of them, and Yahweh is among them! Why do you lift yourselves up above Yahweh’s assembly?”and they assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and Jehovah is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the assembly of Jehovah?그들이 모세와 아론에게 맞서 함께 모여 말했다. "당신들은 너무 지나치오. 온 회중이 다 거룩하고 그들 가운데 여호와께서 계시는데, 어찌하여 당신들은 여호와의 회중 위에 스스로를 높이는 것이오?"
4 When Moses heard it, he fell on his face.And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face:모세가 이 말을 듣고 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드렸다.
5 He said to Korah and to all his company, “ In the morning, Yahweh will show who are his, and who is holy, and will cause him to come near to him. Even him whom he shall choose, he will cause to come near to him.and he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, In the morning Jehovah will show who are his, and who is holy, and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he shall choose will he cause to come near unto him.그러고 나서 그가 고라와 그의 온 무리에게 말했다. "내일 아침에 여호와께서 누가 그분께 속한 사람인지, 누가 거룩한지를 보이시고, 그 사람을 자기에게 가까이 나아오게 하실 것이다. 곧 그분이 택하시는 사람을 가까이 나아오게 하실 것이다.
6 Do this: have Korah and all his company take censers,This do: take you censers, Korah, and all his company;너희는 이렇게 하여라. 고라와 그의 온 무리는 향로를 가져다가
7 put fire in them, and put incense on them before Yahweh tomorrow. It shall be that the man whom Yahweh chooses, he shall be holy. You have gone too far, you sons of Levi!”and put fire in them, and put incense upon them before Jehovah to-morrow: and it shall be that the man whom Jehovah doth choose, he shall be holy: ye take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi.내일 여호와 앞에서 그 안에 불을 담고 그 위에 향을 피워라. 그러면 여호와께서 택하시는 사람이 거룩한 사람이 될 것이다. 레위 자손들아, 너희가 너무 지나치다!"
8 Moses said to Korah, “ Hear now, you sons of Levi!And Moses said unto Korah, Hear now, ye sons of Levi:모세가 또 고라에게 말했다. "너희 레위 자손들아, 이제 들어라!
9 Is it a small thing to you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself, to do the service of Yahweh’s tabernacle, and to stand before the congregation to minister to them;seemeth it but a small thing unto you, that the God of Israel hath separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself, to do the service of the tabernacle of Jehovah, and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them;이스라엘의 하나님께서 너희를 이스라엘 회중에서 구별해 내셔서, 너희를 자기에게 가까이 나아오게 하시고 여호와의 성막에서 섬기는 일을 맡기시며 회중 앞에 서서 그들을 섬기게 하신 것이 너희에게 작은 일로 보이느냐?
10 and that he has brought you near, and all your brothers the sons of Levi with you? Do you seek the priesthood also?and that he hath brought thee near, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee? and seek ye the priesthood also?그분이 너와 네 모든 형제 레위 자손을 자기에게 가까이 나아오게 하셨는데, 너희가 제사장 직분까지 구하느냐?
11 Therefore you and all your company have gathered together against Yahweh! What is Aaron that you complain against him?”Therefore thou and all thy company are gathered together against Jehovah: and Aaron, what is he that ye murmur against him?그러므로 너와 네 온 무리가 함께 모여 여호와를 거스르는 것이다. 아론이 누구이기에 너희가 그를 향해 원망하느냐?"
12 Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab; and they said, “We won’t come up!And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab; and they said, We will not come up:모세가 사람을 보내어 엘리압의 아들 다단과 아비람을 불렀으나, 그들이 말했다. "우리는 올라가지 않겠소.
13 Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, but you must also make yourself a prince over us?is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, but thou must needs make thyself also a prince over us?당신이 우리를 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅에서 이끌어 내어 광야에서 죽이려는 것이 작은 일이오? 그런데도 당신은 우리 위에 군림하는 통치자가 되려 하는구려.
14 Moreover you haven’t brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards. Will you put out the eyes of these men? We won’t come up.”Moreover thou hast not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up.게다가 당신은 우리를 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅으로 데려가지도 않았고, 밭과 포도원을 유산으로 주지도 않았소. 당신은 이 사람들의 눈을 빼려는 것이오? 우리는 올라가지 않겠소."
15 Moses was very angry, and said to Yahweh, “Don’t respect their offering. I have not taken one donkey from them, neither have I hurt one of them.”And Moses was very wroth, and said unto Jehovah, Respect not thou their offering: I have not taken one ass from them, neither have I hurt one of them.모세가 몹시 화가 나서 여호와께 아뢰었다. "그들의 제물을 돌아보지 마십시오. 저는 그들에게서 나귀 한 마리도 빼앗은 적이 없고, 그들 가운데 한 사람도 해친 적이 없습니다."
16 Moses said to Korah, “ You and all your company go before Yahweh, you, and they, and Aaron, tomorrow.And Moses said unto Korah, Be thou and all thy company before Jehovah, thou, and they, and Aaron, to-morrow:모세가 고라에게 말했다. "너와 네 온 무리는 내일 여호와 앞으로 나아오너라. 너와 그들과 아론이 함께 나아오너라.
17 Each man take his censer and put incense on it, and each man bring before Yahweh his censer, two hundred fifty censers; you also, and Aaron, each with his censer.”and take ye every man his censer, and put incense upon them, and bring ye before Jehovah every man his censer, two hundred and fifty censers; thou also, and Aaron, each his censer.너희는 저마다 자기 향로를 가져다가 그 위에 향을 피우고, 저마다 자기 향로를 여호와 앞으로 가져오너라. 향로가 이백오십 개니, 너와 아론도 각자 자기 향로를 가져오너라."
18 They each took his censer, and put fire in it, and laid incense on it, and stood at the door of the Tent of Meeting with Moses and Aaron.And they took every man his censer, and put fire in them, and laid incense thereon, and stood at the door of the tent of meeting with Moses and Aaron.그래서 그들이 저마다 자기 향로를 가져다가 그 안에 불을 담고 그 위에 향을 피우고는, 모세와 아론과 함께 회막 문 앞에 섰다.
19 Korah assembled all the congregation opposite them to the door of the Tent of Meeting. Yahweh’s glory appeared to all the congregation.And Korah assembled all the congregation against them unto the door of the tent of meeting: and the glory of Jehovah appeared unto all the congregation.고라가 온 회중을 모아 그들에게 맞서서 회막 문으로 모이게 하니, 여호와의 영광이 온 회중에게 나타났다.
20 Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,And Jehovah spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,여호와께서 모세와 아론에게 말씀하셨다.
21 “Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment!”Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment."너희는 이 회중에게서 떠나라. 내가 한순간에 그들을 삼켜 버리리라!"
22 They fell on their faces, and said, “God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and will you be angry with all the congregation?”And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?그러자 그들이 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드려 아뢰었다. "하나님, 모든 육체의 영들의 하나님이시여, 한 사람이 죄를 지었는데 온 회중에게 진노하시겠습니까?"
23 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
24 “ Speak to the congregation, saying, ‘ Get away from around the tent of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram!’”Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram."회중에게 일러라. '고라와 다단과 아비람의 장막 주위에서 물러나라!'"
25 Moses rose up and went to Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.모세가 일어나 다단과 아비람에게로 가니, 이스라엘 장로들이 그를 뒤따랐다.
26 He spoke to the congregation, saying, “ Depart, please, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their sins!”And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.그가 회중에게 말했다. "부디 이 악한 사람들의 장막에서 떠나고 그들의 어떤 것도 만지지 마라. 그러지 않으면 너희가 그들의 모든 죄로 인해 함께 멸망할 것이다!"
27 So they went away from the tent of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side. Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood at the door of their tents with their wives, their sons, and their little ones.So they gat them up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood at the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little ones.그래서 그들이 고라와 다단과 아비람의 장막 사방에서 물러났다. 다단과 아비람은 나와서 자기 장막 문에 섰고, 그들의 아내와 아들과 어린아이들도 함께 섰다.
28 Moses said, “ Hereby you shall know that Yahweh has sent me to do all these works; for they are not from my own mind.And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that Jehovah hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind.모세가 말했다. "여호와께서 이 모든 일을 하도록 나를 보내셨고 이것이 내 마음에서 나온 것이 아님을, 너희가 이로써 알게 될 것이다.
29 If these men die the common death of all men, or if they experience what all men experience, then Yahweh hasn’t sent me.If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then Jehovah hath not sent me.만일 이 사람들이 모든 사람이 죽는 보통의 죽음으로 죽거나 모든 사람이 겪는 일을 겪는다면, 여호와께서 나를 보내신 것이 아니다.
30 But if Yahweh makes a new thing, and the ground opens its mouth, and swallows them up with all that belong to them, and they go down alive into Sheol, then you shall understand that these men have despised Yahweh.”But if Jehovah make a new thing, and the ground open its mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down alive into Sheol; then ye shall understand that these men have despised Jehovah.그러나 만일 여호와께서 새로운 일을 행하셔서 땅이 입을 벌려 이 사람들과 그들에게 속한 모든 것을 삼켜 버리고 그들이 산 채로 스올로 내려간다면, 너희는 이 사람들이 여호와를 멸시한 것임을 알게 될 것이다."
31 As he finished speaking all these words, the ground that was under them split apart.And it came to pass, as he made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them;그가 이 모든 말을 마치자마자, 그들 아래의 땅이 갈라졌다.
32 The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up with their households, all of Korah’s men, and all their goods.and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.땅이 입을 벌려 그들과 그들의 집안과 고라에게 속한 모든 사람과 그들의 모든 재물을 삼켜 버렸다.
33 So they, and all that belonged to them went down alive into Sheol. The earth closed on them, and they perished from among the assembly.So they, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into Sheol: and the earth closed upon them, and they perished from among the assembly.그들과 그들에게 속한 모든 것이 산 채로 스올로 내려갔고, 땅이 그들 위에 닫히니 그들이 회중 가운데서 망하였다.
34 All Israel that were around them fled at their cry; for they said, “ Lest the earth swallow us up!”And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them; for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up.그들 주위에 있던 온 이스라엘이 그들의 부르짖는 소리에 달아나며 말했다. "땅이 우리도 삼킬까 두렵다!"
35 Fire came out from Yahweh, and devoured the two hundred fifty men who offered the incense.And fire came forth from Jehovah, and devoured the two hundred and fifty men that offered the incense.여호와께로부터 불이 나와서 향을 피운 그 이백오십 명을 삼켜 버렸다.
36 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
37 “Speak to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter the fire away from the camp; for they are holy,Speak unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter thou the fire yonder; for they are holy,"제사장 아론의 아들 엘르아살에게 일러서, 불타는 곳에서 향로들을 집어 올리고 그 불은 멀리 흩어 버리게 하여라. 그 향로들은 거룩하기 때문이다.
38 even the censers of those who sinned against their own lives. Let them be beaten into plates for a covering of the altar, for they offered them before Yahweh. Therefore they are holy. They shall be a sign to the children of Israel.”even the censers of these sinners against their own lives; and let them be made beaten plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before Jehovah; therefore they are holy; and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.자기 목숨을 거슬러 죄를 지은 이 사람들의 향로니, 그것들을 두들겨 펴서 제단을 덮는 판으로 삼아라. 그들이 그것들을 여호와 앞에 드렸으니 거룩하다. 그것들은 이스라엘 자손에게 표징이 될 것이다."
39 Eleazar the priest took the bronze censers which those who were burned had offered; and they beat them out for a covering of the altar,And Eleazar the priest took the brazen censers, which they that were burnt had offered; and they beat them out for a covering of the altar,제사장 엘르아살이 불탄 사람들이 드렸던 놋 향로들을 가져다가, 그것들을 두들겨 펴서 제단을 덮는 판으로 삼았다.
40 to be a memorial to the children of Israel, to the end that no stranger who isn’t of the offspring of Aaron, would come near to burn incense before Yahweh, that he not be as Korah and as his company; as Yahweh spoke to him by Moses.to be a memorial unto the children of Israel, to the end that no stranger, that is not of the seed of Aaron, come near to burn incense before Jehovah; that he be not as Korah, and as his company: as Jehovah spake unto him by Moses.이는 이스라엘 자손에게 기념이 되게 하여, 아론의 자손이 아닌 다른 사람은 누구도 여호와 앞에서 향을 피우려고 가까이 나아오지 못하게 하고, 고라와 그의 무리처럼 되지 않게 하려는 것이었다. 여호와께서 모세를 통해 엘르아살에게 말씀하신 그대로였다.
41 But on the next day all the congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and against Aaron, saying, “You have killed Yahweh’s people!”But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of Jehovah.그러나 다음 날 이스라엘 자손의 온 회중이 모세와 아론을 향해 원망하며 말했다. "당신들이 여호와의 백성을 죽였소!"
42 When the congregation was assembled against Moses and against Aaron, they looked toward the Tent of Meeting. Behold, the cloud covered it, and Yahweh’s glory appeared.And it came to pass, when the congregation was assembled against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tent of meeting: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of Jehovah appeared.회중이 모세와 아론에게 맞서 모였을 때, 그들이 회막을 향해 바라보니, 보라, 구름이 회막을 덮고 여호와의 영광이 나타났다.
43 Moses and Aaron came to the front of the Tent of Meeting.And Moses and Aaron came to the front of the tent of meeting.모세와 아론이 회막 앞으로 나아갔다.
44 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
45 “Get away from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment!” They fell on their faces.Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment. And they fell upon their faces."너희는 이 회중에게서 떠나라. 내가 한순간에 그들을 삼켜 버리리라!" 그러자 그들이 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드렸다.
46 Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer, put fire from the altar in it, lay incense on it, carry it quickly to the congregation, and make atonement for them; for wrath has gone out from Yahweh! The plague has begun.”And Moses said unto Aaron, Take thy censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and lay incense thereon, and carry it quickly unto the congregation, and make atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from Jehovah; the plague is begun.모세가 아론에게 말했다. "당신의 향로를 가져다가 제단에서 불을 담고 그 위에 향을 피워, 서둘러 회중에게로 가지고 가서 그들을 위해 속죄하시오. 여호와께로부터 진노가 나갔고 재앙이 시작되었소!"
47 Aaron did as Moses said, and ran into the middle of the assembly. The plague had already begun among the people. He put on the incense, and made atonement for the people.And Aaron took as Moses spake, and ran into the midst of the assembly; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on the incense, and made atonement for the people.아론이 모세가 말한 대로 하여 회중 한가운데로 달려가니, 보라, 백성 가운데 재앙이 이미 시작되었다. 그가 향을 피워 백성을 위해 속죄하였다.
48 He stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.그가 죽은 자와 산 자 사이에 서니 재앙이 멈추었다.
49 Now those who died by the plague were fourteen thousand seven hundred, in addition to those who died about the matter of Korah.Now they that died by the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, besides them that died about the matter of Korah.고라의 일로 죽은 사람들 외에, 그 재앙으로 죽은 사람이 만 사천칠백 명이었다.
50 Aaron returned to Moses to the door of the Tent of Meeting, and the plague was stopped.And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tent of meeting: and the plague was stayed.재앙이 멈춘 뒤에 아론이 회막 문에 있는 모세에게 돌아왔다.
