3 Yahweh was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and didn’t seek the Baals,And Jehovah was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto the Baalim,여호와께서 여호사밧과 함께 계셨으니, 이는 그가 그의 조상 다윗이 처음에 걸었던 길로 행하며 바알들을 찾지 않고,
4 but sought the God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not in the ways of Israel.but sought to the God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.오직 그의 조상의 하나님을 찾고 그분의 계명을 따라 행하며 이스라엘의 행위를 따르지 않았기 때문이다.
5 Therefore Yahweh established the kingdom in his hand. All Judah brought tribute to Jehoshaphat, and he had riches and honor in abundance.Therefore Jehovah established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat tribute; and he had riches and honor in abundance.그러므로 여호와께서 그의 손에 나라를 굳게 세우셨고, 온 유다가 여호사밧에게 조공을 바쳤으며, 그는 부와 영광을 풍성히 누렸다.
6 His heart was lifted up in the ways of Yahweh. Furthermore, he took away the high places and the Asherah poles out of Judah.And his heart was lifted up in the ways of Jehovah: and furthermore he took away the high places and the Asherim out of Judah.그의 마음이 여호와의 길에서 담대해졌으며, 더 나아가 그는 유다에서 산당과 아세라 목상들을 없애 버렸다.

9 They taught in Judah, having the book of Yahweh’s law with them. They went about throughout all the cities of Judah and taught among the people.And they taught in Judah, having the book of the law of Jehovah with them; and they went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught among the people.그들은 여호와의 율법책을 가지고 유다에서 가르쳤으니, 유다의 모든 성읍을 두루 다니며 백성 가운데서 가르쳤다.
10 The fear of Yahweh fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.And the fear of Jehovah fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.여호와를 두려워하는 마음이 유다 주위에 있던 모든 나라에 임하였으므로, 그들은 여호사밧과 전쟁을 하지 않았다.
11 Some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents and silver for tribute. The Arabians also brought him flocks: seven thousand seven hundred rams and seven thousand seven hundred male goats.And some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and silver for tribute; the Arabians also brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he-goats.어떤 블레셋 사람들은 여호사밧에게 예물과 조공으로 은을 가져왔고, 아라비아 사람들도 그에게 가축 떼 곧 숫양 칠천칠백 마리와 숫염소 칠천칠백 마리를 가져왔다.
12 Jehoshaphat grew great exceedingly; and he built fortresses and store cities in Judah.And Jehoshaphat waxed great exceedingly; and he built in Judah castles and cities of store.여호사밧은 점점 더 강대해졌으며, 유다에 요새들과 곡식을 저장하는 성읍들을 건설하였다.
13 He had many works in the cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valor, in Jerusalem.And he had many works in the cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valor, in Jerusalem.그는 유다의 성읍들에 많은 일을 벌였고, 예루살렘에는 용맹한 용사들 곧 군사들을 두었다.

15 and next to him Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred eighty thousand;and next to him Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred and fourscore thousand;그 다음은 지휘관 여호하난이었고 그와 함께한 자가 이십팔만 명이며,

17 From Benjamin: Eliada, a mighty man of valor, and with him two hundred thousand armed with bow and shield;And of Benjamin: Eliada a mighty man of valor, and with him two hundred thousand armed with bow and shield;베냐민 출신으로는 용맹한 용사 엘리아다가 있었으니, 그와 함께 활과 방패로 무장한 자가 이십만 명이며,
18 and next to him Jehozabad, and with him one hundred eighty thousand ready and prepared for war.and next to him Jehozabad, and with him a hundred and fourscore thousand ready prepared for war.그 다음은 여호사밧이었고 그와 함께 전쟁을 위해 준비된 자가 십팔만 명이었다.
19 These were those who waited on the king, in addition to those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.These were they that waited on the king, besides those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.이들은 왕을 섬기는 자들이었으며, 이 외에도 왕이 온 유다의 견고한 성읍들에 배치한 자들이 따로 있었다.
