5 Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the sun images; and the kingdom was quiet before him.Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the sun-images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.그는 또 유다의 모든 성읍에서 산당들과 태양상들을 없애니, 나라가 그 앞에서 평온하였다.

7 For he said to Judah, “ Let’s build these cities and make walls around them, with towers, gates, and bars. The land is yet before us, because we have sought Yahweh our God. We have sought him, and he has given us rest on every side.” So they built and prospered.For he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars; the land is yet before us, because we have sought Jehovah our God; we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.그가 유다에게 말하기를 "우리가 이 성읍들을 세우고, 그 둘레에 성벽과 망대와 문과 빗장을 만들자. 우리가 우리 하나님 여호와를 찾았으니 이 땅이 아직 우리 앞에 있다. 우리가 그를 찾았더니 그가 우리에게 사방으로 안식을 주셨다" 하니, 그들이 성읍들을 세워 번성하였다.
8 Asa had an army of three hundred thousand out of Judah who bore bucklers and spears, and two hundred eighty thousand out of Benjamin who bore shields and drew bows. All these were mighty men of valor.And Asa had an army that bare bucklers and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bare shields and drew bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these were mighty men of valor.아사에게는 군대가 있었으니, 유다에서 방패와 창을 든 자가 삼십만 명이요, 베냐민에서 작은 방패를 들고 활을 당기는 자가 이십팔만 명이라. 이들은 모두 용맹한 용사들이었다.
9 Zerah the Ethiopian came out against them with an army of a million troops and three hundred chariots, and he came to Mareshah.And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an army of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and he came unto Mareshah.에티오피아 사람 세라가 군사 백만 명과 병거 삼백 대를 거느리고 그들을 치러 나와 마레사에 이르렀다.

11 Asa cried to Yahweh his God, and said, “ Yahweh, there is no one besides you to help, between the mighty and him who has no strength. Help us, Yahweh our God; for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this multitude. Yahweh, you are our God. Don’t let man prevail against you.”And Asa cried unto Jehovah his God, and said, Jehovah, there is none besides thee to help, between the mighty and him that hath no strength: help us, O Jehovah our God; for we rely on thee, and in thy name are we come against this multitude. O Jehovah, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.아사가 그의 하나님 여호와께 부르짖어 말하기를 "여호와여, 강한 자와 힘없는 자 사이에서 도우실 분은 주밖에 없습니다. 우리 하나님 여호와여, 우리를 도와주십시오. 우리가 주를 의지하고 주의 이름으로 이 큰 무리를 치러 나왔습니다. 여호와여, 주는 우리 하나님이십니다. 사람이 주를 이기지 못하게 하십시오" 하였다.
12 So Yahweh struck the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.So Jehovah smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.그러자 여호와께서 아사와 유다 앞에서 에티오피아 사람들을 치시니, 에티오피아 사람들이 도망하였다.
13 Asa and the people who were with him pursued them to Gerar. So many of the Ethiopians fell that they could not recover themselves, for they were destroyed before Yahweh and before his army. Judah’s army carried away very much booty.And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto Gerar: and there fell of the Ethiopians so many that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before Jehovah, and before his host; and they carried away very much booty.아사와 그와 함께한 백성이 그들을 그랄까지 쫓으니, 에티오피아 사람들이 너무 많이 쓰러져 다시 일어서지 못하였다. 그들이 여호와와 그의 군대 앞에서 멸망하였으므로, 그들은 매우 많은 노략물을 빼앗았다.
14 They struck all the cities around Gerar, for the fear of Yahweh came on them. They plundered all the cities, for there was much plunder in them.And they smote all the cities round about Gerar; for the fear of Jehovah came upon them: and they despoiled all the cities; for there was much spoil in them.그들이 그랄 주변의 모든 성읍을 치니, 여호와를 두려워하는 마음이 그 성읍들에 임하였다. 그들이 그 모든 성읍을 약탈하였으니, 그 안에 노략할 것이 많았기 때문이다.
15 They also struck the tents of those who had livestock, and carried away sheep and camels in abundance, then returned to Jerusalem.They smote also the tents of cattle, and carried away sheep in abundance, and camels, and returned to Jerusalem.그들은 또 가축 떼의 장막들을 치고, 양과 낙타를 많이 빼앗아 예루살렘으로 돌아왔다.
