Then Solomon said, “ Yahweh has said that he would dwell in the thick darkness. Then spake Solomon, Jehovah hath said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.그때 솔로몬이 말하였다. "여호와께서는 짙은 어둠 가운데 거하시겠다고 말씀하셨습니다.
But I have built you a house and home, a place for you to dwell in forever.”But I have built thee a house of habitation, and a place for thee to dwell in for ever.
The king turned his face, and blessed all the assembly of Israel; and all the assembly of Israel stood. And the king turned his face, and blessed all the assembly of Israel: and all the assembly of Israel stood.
He said, “ Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth to David my father, and has with his hands fulfilled it, saying,And he said, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, who spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hands fulfilled it, saying,그가 말하였다. "이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 찬송합니다. 그분께서는 내 아버지 다윗에게 입으로 말씀하신 것을 손으로 이루어 주셨습니다. 그분께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다.
‘ Since the day that I brought my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, that my name might be there, and I chose no man to be prince over my people Israel;Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be prince over my people Israel:'내가 내 백성을 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 낸 날부터, 내 이름을 두려고 집을 지을 성읍을 이스라엘 모든 지파 가운데서 택하지 아니하였고, 내 백성 이스라엘을 다스릴 사람도 택하지 아니하였다.
but now I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and I have chosen David to be over my people Israel.’but I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there, and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.
Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel. Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel.
But Yahweh said to David my father, ‘ Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart; But Jehovah said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thy heart to build a house for my name, thou didst well that it was in thy heart:그러나 여호와께서 내 아버지 다윗에게 말씀하셨습니다. '네 마음에 내 이름을 위하여 집을 지으려는 뜻이 있으니, 그렇게 마음먹은 것은 잘한 일이다.
nevertheless you shall not build the house, but your son who will come out of your body, he shall build the house for my name.’nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.
“ Yahweh has performed his word that he spoke; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Yahweh promised, and have built the house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel. And Jehovah hath performed his word that he spake; for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Jehovah promised, and have built the house for the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel.이제 여호와께서 말씀하신 그 말씀을 이루셨습니다. 그래서 제가 내 아버지 다윗의 자리를 이어 일어나 이스라엘의 왕좌에 앉게 되었고, 여호와께서 약속하신 대로 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와의 이름을 위하여 그 집을 지었습니다.
There I have set the ark, in which is Yahweh’s covenant, which he made with the children of Israel.”And there have I set the ark, wherein is the covenant of Jehovah, which he made with the children of Israel.
He stood before Yahweh’s altar in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his handsAnd he stood before the altar of Jehovah in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands솔로몬이 이스라엘 온 회중 앞에서 여호와의 제단 앞에 서서 그의 손을 폈다.
( for Solomon had made a bronze platform, five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits high, and had set it in the middle of the court; and he stood on it, and knelt down on his knees before all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven ).( for Solomon had made a brazen scaffold, five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court; and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven );(솔로몬이 길이가 다섯 규빗, 너비가 다섯 규빗, 높이가 세 규빗 되는 놋 단을 만들어 뜰 한가운데 두었는데, 그 위에 서서 이스라엘 온 회중 앞에서 무릎을 꿇고 하늘을 향하여 손을 폈다.)
Then he said, “ Yahweh, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven or on earth — you who keep covenant and loving kindness with your servants who walk before you with all their heart;and he said, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven, or on earth; who keepest covenant and lovingkindness with thy servants, that walk before thee with all their heart;그가 말하였다. "이스라엘의 하나님 여호와여, 하늘에나 땅에나 주와 같은 하나님은 없습니다. 주께서는 온 마음으로 주 앞에서 행하는 주의 종들에게 언약과 인자하심을 지키시는 분이십니다.
who have kept with your servant David my father that which you promised him. Yes, you spoke with your mouth, and have fulfilled it with your hand, as it is today.who hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou didst promise him: yea, thou spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thy hand, as it is this day.
“ Now therefore, Yahweh, the God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father that which you have promised him, saying, ‘ There shall not fail you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your children take heed to their way, to walk in my law as you have walked before me.’Now therefore, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only thy children take heed to their way, to walk in my law as thou hast walked before me.이스라엘의 하나님 여호와여, 이제 내 아버지 다윗에게 약속하신 것을 그대로 지켜 주십시오. 주께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. '만일 네 자손이 그들의 길을 삼가서, 네가 내 앞에서 걸어온 것처럼 내 율법을 따라 걷기만 하면, 네게서 이스라엘 왕좌에 앉을 사람이 내 앞에서 끊어지지 아니하리라.'
Now therefore, Yahweh, the God of Israel, let your word be verified, which you spoke to your servant David. Now therefore, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David.
“ But will God indeed dwell with men on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens can’t contain you; how much less this house which I have built! But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have builded!그러나 하나님께서 참으로 사람과 함께 이 땅에 거하시겠습니까? 보십시오, 하늘과 하늘들의 하늘이라도 주를 담을 수 없거늘, 하물며 제가 지은 이 집이야 어떻겠습니까!
Yet have respect for the prayer of your servant and to his supplication, Yahweh my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which your servant prays before you;Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O Jehovah my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee;그러나 나의 하나님 여호와여, 주의 종의 기도와 간구를 돌아보시고, 주의 종이 주 앞에서 부르짖으며 드리는 기도를 들어 주십시오.
that your eyes may be open toward this house day and night, even toward the place where you have said that you would put your name, to listen to the prayer which your servant will pray toward this place.that thine eyes may be open toward this house day and night, even toward the place whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall pray toward this place.
Listen to the petitions of your servant and of your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Yes, hear from your dwelling place, even from heaven; and when you hear, forgive. And hearken thou to the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: yea, hear thou from thy dwelling-place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive.
“ If a man sins against his neighbor, and an oath is laid on him to cause him to swear, and he comes and swears before your altar in this house,If a man sin against his neighbor, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and he come and swear before thine altar in this house;만일 어떤 사람이 그 이웃에게 죄를 지어, 그에게 맹세를 시키려고 서약을 지우고, 그가 와서 이 집 주의 제단 앞에서 맹세하거든,
then hear from heaven, act, and judge your servants, bringing retribution to the wicked, to bring his way on his own head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, requiting the wicked, to bring his way upon his own head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.
“ If your people Israel are struck down before the enemy because they have sinned against you, and they turn again and confess your name, and pray and make supplication before you in this house,And if thy people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication before thee in this house;만일 주의 백성 이스라엘이 주께 죄를 지어 원수 앞에서 패하였을 때, 다시 주께 돌아와 주의 이름을 고백하고, 이 집에서 주 앞에 기도하며 간구하거든,
then hear from heaven, and forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them again to the land which you gave to them and to their fathers.then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.
“ When the sky is shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against you, if they pray toward this place and confess your name, and turn from their sin when you afflict them,When the heavens are shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them:만일 그들이 주께 죄를 지어 하늘이 닫히고 비가 내리지 않을 때, 그들이 이곳을 향하여 기도하고 주의 이름을 고백하며 그들의 죄에서 돌이키거든, 주께서 그들을 징계하실 때에
then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel, when you teach them the good way in which they should walk, and send rain on your land, which you have given to your people for an inheritance.then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou teachest them the good way wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.
“ If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence, if there is blight or mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemies besiege them in the land of their cities; whatever plague or whatever sickness there is —If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting or mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemies besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague or whatsoever sickness there be;만일 이 땅에 기근이 들거나, 전염병이 돌거나, 곡식이 마르거나 곰팡이가 슬거나, 메뚜기나 황충이 들거나, 그들의 원수가 그들의 성읍 땅을 에워싸거나, 그 어떤 재앙이나 그 어떤 질병이 있든지,
whatever prayer and supplication is made by any man, or by all your people Israel, who will each know his own plague and his own sorrow, and shall spread out his hands toward this house, what prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, who shall know every man his own plague and his own sorrow, and shall spread forth his hands toward this house:주의 백성 이스라엘 중에 어떤 사람이나 모든 백성이 각기 자기의 재앙과 자기의 고통을 알고, 이 집을 향하여 손을 펴며 드리는 그 어떤 기도와 간구가 있거든,
then hear from heaven your dwelling place and forgive, and give to every man according to all his ways, whose heart you know ( for you, even you only, know the hearts of the children of men ),then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling-place, and forgive, and render unto every man according to all his ways, whose heart thou knowest ( for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of the children of men );주께서는 주의 거하시는 곳, 곧 하늘에서 들으시고 용서하시며, 각 사람의 마음을 아시는 주께서 각 사람에게 그의 모든 행위대로 갚아 주십시오.
that they may fear you, to walk in your ways as long as they live in the land which you gave to our fathers.that they may fear thee, to walk in thy ways, so long as they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.
“ Moreover, concerning the foreigner, who is not of your people Israel, when he comes from a far country for your great name’s sake and your mighty hand and your outstretched arm, when they come and pray toward this house,Moreover concerning the foreigner, that is not of thy people Israel, when he shall come from a far country for thy great name’s sake, and thy mighty hand, and thine outstretched arm; when they shall come and pray toward this house:또한 주의 백성 이스라엘에 속하지 아니한 이방 사람이라도, 주의 위대하신 이름과 주의 강한 손과 주의 펴신 팔 때문에 먼 나라에서 와서 이 집을 향하여 기도하거든,
then hear from heaven, even from your dwelling place, and do according to all that the foreigner calls to you for; that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by your name.then hear thou from heaven, even from thy dwelling-place, and do according to all that the foreigner calleth to thee for; that all the peoples of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.
“ If your people go out to battle against their enemies, by whatever way you send them, and they pray to you toward this city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name;If thy people go out to battle against their enemies, by whatsoever way thou shalt send them, and they pray unto thee toward this city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name;만일 주의 백성이 주께서 보내시는 길로 그들의 원수와 싸우러 나갔을 때, 주께서 택하신 이 성과 제가 주의 이름을 위하여 지은 이 집을 향하여 주께 기도하거든,
then hear from heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.then hear thou from heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.
“ If they sin against you ( for there is no man who doesn’t sin ), and you are angry with them and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive to a land far off or near;If they sin against thee ( for there is no man that sinneth not ), and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive unto a land far off or near;만일 그들이 주께 죄를 지어 (죄를 짓지 않는 사람이 없으므로) 주께서 그들에게 진노하셔서 원수에게 넘기시므로, 원수가 그들을 멀거나 가까운 땅으로 사로잡아 가거든,
yet if they come to their senses in the land where they are carried captive, and turn again, and make supplication to you in the land of their captivity, saying, ‘ We have sinned, we have done perversely, and have dealt wickedly;’yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn again, and make supplication unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done perversely, and have dealt wickedly;그들이 사로잡혀 간 땅에서 마음을 돌이켜, 그 포로의 땅에서 다시 주께 간구하며 '우리가 죄를 지었습니다.
if they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, where they have been taken captive, and pray toward their land which you gave to their fathers, and the city which you have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for your name;if they return unto thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captive, and pray toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, and the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name:그들이 사로잡혀 끌려간 그 포로의 땅에서 온 마음과 온 영혼으로 주께 돌아와, 주께서 그들의 조상에게 주신 그들의 땅과 주께서 택하신 이 성과 제가 주의 이름을 위하여 지은 이 집을 향하여 기도하거든,
then hear from heaven, even from your dwelling place, their prayer and their petitions, and maintain their cause, and forgive your people who have sinned against you.then hear thou from heaven, even from thy dwelling-place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people who have sinned against thee.
“ Now, my God, let, I beg you, your eyes be open, and let your ears be attentive to the prayer that is made in this place. Now, O my God, let, I beseech thee, thine eyes be open, and let thine ears be attent, unto the prayer that is made in this place.이제 나의 하나님이여, 간구하오니 이곳에서 드리는 기도에 주의 눈을 여시고 주의 귀를 기울여 주십시오.
“ Now therefore arise, Yahweh God, into your resting place, you, and the ark of your strength. Let your priests, Yahweh God, be clothed with salvation, and let your saints rejoice in goodness. Now therefore arise, O Jehovah God, into thy resting-place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O Jehovah God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness.여호와 하나님이여, 이제 일어나 주의 안식하실 곳으로 들어가시되, 주와 주의 능력의 궤가 함께 들어가소서. 여호와 하나님이여, 주의 제사장들에게 구원을 옷 입게 하시고, 주의 성도들이 주의 선하심으로 즐거워하게 하소서.
“ Yahweh God, don’t turn away the face of your anointed. Remember your loving kindnesses to David your servant.”O Jehovah God, turn not away the face of thine anointed: remember thy lovingkindnesses to David thy servant.
