1 Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. He didn’t do that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, like David his father,Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and he did not that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, like David his father;아하스는 스무 살에 왕이 되어 예루살렘에서 십육 년 동안 다스렸다. 그러나 그는 자기 조상 다윗과 달리 여호와께서 보시기에 옳은 일을 하지 않았다.
2 but he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and also made molten images for the Baals.but he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made also molten images for the Baalim.오히려 그는 이스라엘 왕들의 길을 따라 걸었고, 바알들을 위하여 부어 만든 우상까지 만들었다.
3 Moreover he burned incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burned his children in the fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.Moreover he burnt incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt his children in the fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom Jehovah cast out before the children of Israel.더 나아가 그는 힌놈의 아들 골짜기에서 분향하고, 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 쫓아내신 이방 사람들의 역겨운 풍습을 따라 자기 자녀들을 불에 살랐다.
4 He sacrificed and burned incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.And he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.그는 산당과 언덕 위와 모든 푸른 나무 아래에서 제사하며 분향하였다.
5 Therefore Yahweh his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria. They struck him, and carried away from him a great multitude of captives, and brought them to Damascus. He was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who struck him with a great slaughter.Wherefore Jehovah his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria; and they smote him, and carried away of his a great multitude of captives, and brought them to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who smote him with a great slaughter.그러므로 그의 하나님 여호와께서 그를 시리아 왕의 손에 넘기셨고, 그들은 그를 쳐서 그의 백성 가운데 많은 무리를 사로잡아 다마스쿠스로 끌고 갔다. 또한 그는 이스라엘 왕의 손에도 넘겨져 크게 죽임을 당하였다.
6 For Pekah the son of Remaliah killed in Judah one hundred twenty thousand in one day, all of them valiant men, because they had forsaken Yahweh, the God of their fathers.For Pekah the son of Remaliah slew in Judah a hundred and twenty thousand in one day, all of them valiant men; because they had forsaken Jehovah, the God of their fathers.르말랴의 아들 베가가 유다에서 하루 만에 십이만 명을 죽였는데, 그들은 모두 용맹한 자들이었다. 이는 그들이 자기 조상의 하나님 여호와를 저버렸기 때문이다.
7 Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, killed Maaseiah the king’s son, Azrikam the ruler of the house, and Elkanah who was next to the king.And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, slew Maaseiah the king’s son, and Azrikam the ruler of the house, and Elkanah that was next to the king.에브라임의 용사 시그리는 왕의 아들 마아세야와 궁중을 다스리는 자 아스리감과 왕 다음가는 자 엘가나를 죽였다.
8 The children of Israel carried away captive of their brothers two hundred thousand women, sons, and daughters, and also took away much plunder from them, and brought the plunder to Samaria.And the children of Israel carried away captive of their brethren two hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much spoil from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria.이스라엘 자손은 자기 형제들 가운데서 여자들과 아들들과 딸들 이십만 명을 사로잡고, 그들에게서 많은 전리품을 빼앗아 사마리아로 가져갔다.
9 But a prophet of Yahweh was there, whose name was Oded; and he went out to meet the army that came to Samaria, and said to them, “ Behold, because Yahweh, the God of your fathers, was angry with Judah, he has delivered them into your hand, and you have slain them in a rage which has reached up to heaven.But a prophet of Jehovah was there, whose name was Oded: and he went out to meet the host that came to Samaria, and said unto them, Behold, because Jehovah, the God of your fathers, was wroth with Judah, he hath delivered them into your hand, and ye have slain them in a rage which hath reached up unto heaven.그러나 그곳에 오뎃이라는 여호와의 선지자가 있었다. 그는 사마리아로 돌아오는 군대를 맞으러 나가 그들에게 말하였다. "보라, 너희 조상의 하나님 여호와께서 유다에게 진노하셨으므로 그들을 너희 손에 넘기신 것인데, 너희는 하늘에까지 닿는 분노로 그들을 죽였다.
10 Now you intend to degrade the children of Judah and Jerusalem as male and female slaves for yourselves. Aren’t there even with you trespasses of your own against Yahweh your God?And now ye purpose to keep under the children of Judah and Jerusalem for bondmen and bondwomen unto you: but are there not even with you trespasses of your own against Jehovah your God?이제 너희는 유다와 예루살렘의 자손을 너희의 남종과 여종으로 삼아 부리려 하는구나. 그러나 너희에게도 너희 하나님 여호와께 지은 죄과가 있지 않으냐?
11 Now hear me therefore, and send back the captives that you have taken captive from your brothers, for the fierce wrath of Yahweh is on you.”Now hear me therefore, and send back the captives, that ye have taken captive of your brethren; for the fierce wrath of Jehovah is upon you.그러니 이제 내 말을 들으라. 너희가 너희 형제들에게서 사로잡아 온 포로들을 돌려보내라. 여호와의 맹렬한 진노가 너희 위에 있느니라."
12 Then some of the heads of the children of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up against those who came from the war,Then certain of the heads of the children of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up against them that came from the war,그러자 에브라임 자손의 우두머리들 가운데 요하난의 아들 아사랴와 므실레못의 아들 베레갸와 살룸의 아들 여히스기야와 하들래의 아들 아마사가 일어나, 전쟁에서 돌아온 자들을 막아서며
13 and said to them, “ You must not bring in the captives here, for you intend that which will bring on us a trespass against Yahweh, to add to our sins and to our guilt; for our guilt is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.”and said unto them, Ye shall not bring in the captives hither: for ye purpose that which will bring upon us a trespass against Jehovah, to add unto our sins and to our trespass; for our trespass is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.그들에게 말하였다. "너희는 이 포로들을 여기로 데려오지 말라. 너희가 하려는 일은 우리로 여호와께 죄과를 짓게 하여 우리의 죄와 허물을 더하게 하는 것이다. 우리의 죄과가 이미 크고, 이스라엘 위에 맹렬한 진노가 있느니라."
14 So the armed men left the captives and the plunder before the princes and all the assembly.So the armed men left the captives and the spoil before the princes and all the assembly.그러자 무장한 자들이 그 포로들과 전리품을 지도자들과 온 회중 앞에 남겨 두었다.
15 The men who have been mentioned by name rose up and took the captives, and with the plunder clothed all who were naked among them, dressed them, gave them sandals, gave them something to eat and to drink, anointed them, carried all the feeble of them on donkeys, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm trees, to their brothers. Then they returned to Samaria.And the men that have been mentioned by name rose up, and took the captives, and with the spoil clothed all that were naked among them, and arrayed them, and shod them, and gave them to eat and to drink, and anointed them, and carried all the feeble of them upon asses, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm-trees, unto their brethren: then they returned to Samaria.이름이 거명된 그 사람들이 일어나 포로들을 데려다가, 전리품 가운데서 옷을 내어 그들 중 헐벗은 자들을 모두 입히고, 옷과 신발을 주고, 먹을 것과 마실 것을 주고, 몸에 기름을 발라 주었다. 또 약한 자들은 모두 나귀에 태워 종려나무의 성 여리고로, 그들의 형제들에게 데려다주었다. 그런 다음 사마리아로 돌아갔다.
16 At that time King Ahaz sent to the kings of Assyria to help him.At that time did king Ahaz send unto the kings of Assyria to help him.그 무렵에 아하스 왕은 앗시리아 왕들에게 사람을 보내어 도움을 청하였다.
17 For again the Edomites had come and struck Judah, and carried away captives.For again the Edomites had come and smitten Judah, and carried away captives.이는 에돔 사람들이 또다시 와서 유다를 치고 포로들을 사로잡아 갔기 때문이다.
18 The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the lowland and of the South of Judah, and had taken Beth Shemesh, Aijalon, Gederoth, Soco with its villages, Timnah with its villages, and also Gimzo and its villages; and they lived there.The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the lowland, and of the South of Judah, and had taken Beth-shemesh, and Aijalon, and Gederoth, and Soco with the towns thereof, and Timnah with the towns thereof, Gimzo also and the towns thereof: and they dwelt there.또 블레셋 사람들은 유다의 평지와 남쪽 성읍들을 침략하여, 벧세메스와 아얄론과 그데롯과 소고와 그 주변 마을들과 딤나와 그 주변 마을들과 김소와 그 주변 마을들을 빼앗고 거기에 거주하였다.
19 For Yahweh brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel, because he acted without restraint in Judah and trespassed severely against Yahweh.For Jehovah brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel; for he had dealt wantonly in Judah, and trespassed sore against Jehovah.이는 여호와께서 이스라엘 왕 아하스 때문에 유다를 낮추셨기 때문이다. 그가 유다에서 방종하게 행하며 여호와께 심히 범죄하였던 것이다.
20 Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria came to him and gave him trouble, but didn’t strengthen him.And Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria came unto him, and distressed him, but strengthened him not.앗시리아 왕 디글랏빌레셀이 그에게 왔으나, 그를 도와주기는커녕 도리어 괴롭게 하였다.
21 For Ahaz took away a portion out of Yahweh’s house, and out of the house of the king and of the princes, and gave it to the king of Assyria; but it didn’t help him.For Ahaz took away a portion out of the house of Jehovah, and out of the house of the king and of the princes, and gave it unto the king of Assyria: but it helped him not.아하스가 여호와의 전과 왕궁과 지도자들의 집에서 보물을 떼어 앗시리아 왕에게 주었으나, 그것은 그에게 아무 도움이 되지 못하였다.
22 In the time of his distress, he trespassed yet more against Yahweh, this same King Ahaz.And in the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against Jehovah, this same king Ahaz.이 아하스 왕은 자신이 곤경에 처하였을 때 오히려 여호와께 더욱 범죄하였다.
23 For he sacrificed to the gods of Damascus which had defeated him. He said, “ Because the gods of the kings of Syria helped them, I will sacrifice to them, that they may help me.” But they were the ruin of him and of all Israel.For he sacrificed unto the gods of Damascus, which smote him; and he said, Because the gods of the kings of Syria helped them, therefore will I sacrifice to them, that they may help me. But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel.그는 자기를 친 다마스쿠스의 신들에게 제사하며 말하였다. "시리아 왕들의 신들이 그들을 도왔으니, 나도 그들에게 제사하여 그들이 나를 돕게 하리라." 그러나 그 신들은 그와 온 이스라엘에게 멸망의 원인이 되었다.
24 Ahaz gathered together the vessels of God’s house, cut the vessels of God’s house in pieces, and shut up the doors of Yahweh’s house; and he made himself altars in every corner of Jerusalem.And Ahaz gathered together the vessels of the house of God, and cut in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and shut up the doors of the house of Jehovah; and he made him altars in every corner of Jerusalem.아하스는 하나님의 전의 기구들을 모아 부수고, 여호와의 전 문들을 닫아 버렸으며, 예루살렘 구석구석마다 자기를 위해 제단을 만들었다.
25 In every city of Judah he made high places to burn incense to other gods, and provoked Yahweh, the God of his fathers, to anger.And in every city of Judah he made high places to burn incense unto other gods, and provoked to anger Jehovah, the God of his fathers.또 유다의 모든 성읍에 산당을 만들어 다른 신들에게 분향함으로, 자기 조상의 하나님 여호와를 진노케 하였다.
26 Now the rest of his acts, and all his ways, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.Now the rest of his acts, and all his ways, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.그가 행한 나머지 일들과 그의 모든 행적은 처음부터 끝까지 보라, 유다와 이스라엘 열왕의 책에 기록되어 있다.
27 Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, even in Jerusalem, because they didn’t bring him into the tombs of the kings of Israel; and Hezekiah his son reigned in his place.And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, even in Jerusalem; for they brought him not into the sepulchres of the kings of Israel: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.아하스가 자기 조상들과 함께 잠드니, 사람들이 그를 예루살렘 성에 장사하였다. 다만 그를 이스라엘 열왕의 무덤에는 모시지 않았다. 그의 아들 히스기야가 그를 이어 왕이 되었다.
