3 with twelve hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen. I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath won’t be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.And when Jehovah saw that they humbled themselves, the word of Jehovah came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves: I will not destroy them; but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.여호와께서 그들이 스스로 겸손해지는 것을 보시자, 여호와의 말씀이 스마야에게 임하여 이르셨다. "그들이 스스로 겸손해졌으니, 내가 그들을 멸하지 않고 얼마간 구원을 베풀겠으며, 내 진노를 시삭의 손을 빌려 예루살렘에 쏟아붓지 않겠노라.

9 So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem and took away the treasures of Yahweh’s house and the treasures of the king’s house. He took it all away. 10 King Rehoboam made shields of bronze in their place, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, who kept the door of the king’s house.And king Rehoboam made in their stead shields of brass, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, that kept the door of the king’s house.르호보암 왕은 그 대신 놋방패들을 만들어 왕궁 문을 지키는 경호대장들의 손에 맡겼다.
11 As often as the king entered into Yahweh’s house, the guard came and bore them, then brought them back into the guard room.And it was so, that, as oft as the king entered into the house of Jehovah, the guard came and bare them, and brought them back into the guard-chamber.왕이 여호와의 전에 들어갈 때마다 경호병들이 와서 그 방패들을 들었고, 다시 경호실로 가져다 두었다.
12 When he humbled himself, Yahweh’s wrath turned from him, so as not to destroy him altogether. Moreover, there were good things found in Judah.And when he humbled himself, the wrath of Jehovah turned from him, so as not to destroy him altogether: and moreover in Judah there were good things found.르호보암이 스스로 겸손해지자 여호와의 진노가 그에게서 돌이켜져 그를 아주 멸하지는 않으셨으니, 유다에도 선한 일들이 더러 있었기 때문이다.
13 So King Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem and reigned; for Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which Yahweh had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel to put his name there. 14 He did that which was evil, because he didn’t set his heart to seek Yahweh.And he did that which was evil, because he set not his heart to seek Jehovah.그는 마음을 다하여 여호와를 찾지 않았기 때문에 악을 행하였다.
15 Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, aren’t they written in the histories of Shemaiah the prophet and of Iddo the seer, in the genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.르호보암의 처음부터 끝까지의 행적은 족보의 방식대로 선지자 스마야와 선견자 잇도의 기록에 적혀 있지 않은가? 르호보암과 여로보암 사이에는 늘 전쟁이 있었다.
16 Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in David’s city; and Abijah his son reigned in his place.And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and Abijah his son reigned in his stead.르호보암이 자기 조상들과 함께 잠들어 다윗 성에 묻혔고, 그의 아들 아비야가 그를 이어 왕이 되었다.
