Yahweh said to Moses on Mount Sinai,And Jehovah spake unto Moses in mount Sinai, saying,
“ Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, ‘ When you come into the land which I give you, then the land shall keep a Sabbath to Yahweh.Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto Jehovah.“이스라엘 자손에게 말하여 이렇게 전하여라.
You shall sow your field six years, and you shall prune your vineyard six years, and gather in its fruits;Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruits thereof;여섯 해 동안 너는 네 밭에 씨를 뿌리고, 여섯 해 동안 네 포도원을 가꾸어 그 소출을 거두어들여라.
but in the seventh year there shall be a Sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a Sabbath to Yahweh. You shall not sow your field or prune your vineyard.but in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath unto Jehovah: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.
What grows of itself in your harvest you shall not reap, and you shall not gather the grapes of your undressed vine. It shall be a year of solemn rest for the land. That which groweth of itself of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, and the grapes of thy undressed vine thou shalt not gather: it shall be a year of solemn rest for the land.
The Sabbath of the land shall be for food for you; for yourself, for your servant, for your maid, for your hired servant, and for your stranger, who lives as a foreigner with you.And the sabbath of the land shall be for food for you; for thee, and for thy servant and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant and for thy stranger, who sojourn with thee.
For your livestock also, and for the animals that are in your land, shall all its increase be for food. And for thy cattle, and for the beasts that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be for food.
“‘ You shall count off seven Sabbaths of years, seven times seven years; and there shall be to you the days of seven Sabbaths of years, even forty-nine years. And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and there shall be unto thee the days of seven sabbaths of years, even forty and nine years.
Then you shall sound the loud trumpet on the tenth day of the seventh month. On the Day of Atonement you shall sound the trumpet throughout all your land. Then shalt thou send abroad the loud trumpet on the tenth day of the seventh month; in the day of atonement shall ye send abroad the trumpet throughout all your land.
You shall make the fiftieth year holy, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee to you; and each of you shall return to his own property, and each of you shall return to his family. And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
That fiftieth year shall be a jubilee to you. In it you shall not sow, neither reap that which grows of itself, nor gather from the undressed vines.A jubilee shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of the undressed vines.
For it is a jubilee; it shall be holy to you. You shall eat of its increase out of the field. For it is a jubilee; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.
“‘ In this Year of Jubilee each of you shall return to his property. In this year of jubilee ye shall return every man unto his possession.
“‘ If you sell anything to your neighbor, or buy from your neighbor, you shall not wrong one another. And if thou sell aught unto thy neighbor, or buy of thy neighbor’s hand, ye shall not wrong one another.
According to the number of years after the Jubilee you shall buy from your neighbor. According to the number of years of the crops he shall sell to you.According to the number of years after the jubilee thou shalt buy of thy neighbor, and according unto the number of years of the crops he shall sell unto thee.
According to the length of the years you shall increase its price, and according to the shortness of the years you shall diminish its price; for he is selling the number of the crops to you.According to the multitude of the years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of the years thou shalt diminish the price of it; for the number of the crops doth he sell unto thee.
You shall not wrong one another, but you shall fear your God; for I am Yahweh your God.And ye shall not wrong one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am Jehovah your God.
“‘ Therefore you shall do my statutes, and keep my ordinances and do them; and you shall dwell in the land in safety.Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep mine ordinances and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.
The land shall yield its fruit, and you shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety. And the land shall yield its fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.
If you said, “ What shall we eat the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase;”And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase;너희가 만일 “일곱째 해에 우리가 무엇을 먹겠는가?
then I will command my blessing on you in the sixth year, and it shall bear fruit for the three years.then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for the three years.
You shall sow the eighth year, and eat of the fruits from the old store until the ninth year. Until its fruits come in, you shall eat the old store. And ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat of the fruits, the old store; until the ninth year, until its fruits come in, ye shall eat the old store.
“‘ The land shall not be sold in perpetuity, for the land is mine; for you are strangers and live as foreigners with me.And the land shall not be sold in perpetuity; for the land is mine: for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.
In all the land of your possession you shall grant a redemption for the land. And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption for the land.
“‘ If your brother becomes poor, and sells some of his possessions, then his kinsman who is next to him shall come, and redeem that which his brother has sold.If thy brother be waxed poor, and sell some of his possession, then shall his kinsman that is next unto him come, and shall redeem that which his brother hath sold.
If a man has no one to redeem it, and he becomes prosperous and finds sufficient means to redeem it,And if a man have no one to redeem it, and he be waxed rich and find sufficient to redeem it;만일 어떤 사람에게 그것을 무를 사람이 없는데, 그가 형편이 넉넉해져서 그것을 무르기에 충분한 재력을 얻으면,
then let him reckon the years since its sale, and restore the surplus to the man to whom he sold it; and he shall return to his property.then let him reckon the years of the sale thereof, and restore the overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; and he shall return unto his possession.
But if he isn’t able to get it back for himself, then what he has sold shall remain in the hand of him who has bought it until the Year of Jubilee. In the Jubilee it shall be released, and he shall return to his property. But if he be not able to get it back for himself, then that which he hath sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubilee: and in the jubilee it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.
“‘ If a man sells a dwelling house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it has been sold. For a full year he shall have the right of redemption. And if a man sell a dwelling-house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; for a full year shall he have the right of redemption.
If it isn’t redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be made sure in perpetuity to him who bought it, throughout his generations. It shall not be released in the Jubilee. And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be made sure in perpetuity to him that bought it, throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubilee.
But the houses of the villages which have no wall around them shall be accounted for with the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall be released in the Jubilee. But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be reckoned with the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubilee.
“‘Nevertheless, in the cities of the Levites, the Levites may redeem the houses in the cities of their possession at any time.Nevertheless the cities of the Levites, the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Levites redeem at any time.
The Levites may redeem the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, and it shall be released in the Jubilee; for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Israel. And if one of the Levites redeem, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the jubilee; for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Israel.
But the field of the pasture lands of their cities may not be sold, for it is their perpetual possession. But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession.
“‘ If your brother has become poor, and his hand can’t support himself among you, then you shall uphold him. He shall live with you like an alien and a temporary resident. And if thy brother be waxed poor, and his hand fail with thee; then thou shalt uphold him: as a stranger and a sojourner shall he live with thee.
Take no interest from him or profit; but fear your God, that your brother may live among you.Take thou no interest of him or increase, but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee.
You shall not lend him your money at interest, nor give him your food for profit.Thou shalt not give him thy money upon interest, nor give him thy victuals for increase.
I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.I am Jehovah your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.
“‘ If your brother has grown poor among you, and sells himself to you, you shall not make him to serve as a slave. And if thy brother be waxed poor with thee, and sell himself unto thee; thou shalt not make him to serve as a bondservant.
As a hired servant, and as a temporary resident, he shall be with you; he shall serve with you until the Year of Jubilee. As a hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with thee; he shall serve with thee unto the year of jubilee:그는 품꾼이나 거류민처럼 너와 함께 있으면서, 희년까지 너를 섬길 것이다.
Then he shall go out from you, he and his children with him, and shall return to his own family, and to the possession of his fathers.then shall he go out from thee, he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.
For they are my servants, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt. They shall not be sold as slaves. For they are my servants, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondmen.
You shall not rule over him with harshness, but shall fear your God.Thou shalt not rule over him with rigor, but shalt fear thy God.
“‘ As for your male and your female slaves, whom you may have from the nations that are around you, from them you may buy male and female slaves. And as for thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, whom thou shalt have; of the nations that are round about you, of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.
Moreover, of the children of the aliens who live among you, of them you may buy, and of their families who are with you, which they have conceived in your land; and they will be your property. Moreover of the children of the strangers that sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they have begotten in your land: and they shall be your possession.
You may make them an inheritance for your children after you, to hold for a possession. Of them you may take your slaves forever, but over your brothers the children of Israel you shall not rule, one over another, with harshness. And ye shall make them an inheritance for your children after you, to hold for a possession; of them shall ye take your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel ye shall not rule, one over another, with rigor.
“‘ If an alien or temporary resident with you becomes rich, and your brother beside him has grown poor, and sells himself to the stranger or foreigner living among you, or to a member of the stranger’s family,And if a stranger or sojourner with thee be waxed rich, and thy brother be waxed poor beside him, and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner with thee, or to the stock of the stranger’s family;너희와 함께 있는 나그네나 거류민이 부유해지고, 그 곁의 네 형제는 가난해져서 너희 가운데 사는 나그네나 거류민에게, 또는 그 나그네의 가문 사람에게 자신을 팔거든,
after he is sold he may be redeemed. One of his brothers may redeem him;after that he is sold he may be redeemed: one of his brethren may redeem him;그가 팔린 뒤에라도 무를 수 있다.
or his uncle, or his uncle’s son, may redeem him, or any who is a close relative to him of his family may redeem him; or if he has grown rich, he may redeem himself.or his uncle, or his uncle’s son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be waxed rich, he may redeem himself.
He shall reckon with him who bought him from the year that he sold himself to him to the Year of Jubilee. The price of his sale shall be according to the number of years; he shall be with him according to the time of a hired servant. And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he sold himself to him unto the year of jubilee: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years; according to the time of a hired servant shall he be with him.
If there are yet many years, according to them he shall give back the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for.If there be yet many years, according unto them he shall give back the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for.
If there remain but a few years to the year of jubilee, then he shall reckon with him; according to his years of service he shall give back the price of his redemption. And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubilee, then he shall reckon with him; according unto his years shall he give back the price of his redemption.
As a servant hired year by year shall he be with him. He shall not rule with harshness over him in your sight. As a servant hired year by year shall he be with him: he shall not rule with rigor over him in thy sight.
If he isn’t redeemed by these means, then he shall be released in the Year of Jubilee: he and his children with him.And if he be not redeemed by these means, then he shall go out in the year of jubilee, he, and his children with him.
For to me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought out of the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.For unto me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am Jehovah your God.
