1 These are the words of the covenant which Yahweh commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, in addition to the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.These are the words of the covenant which Jehovah commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.이것은 여호와께서 모세에게 명하여 모압 땅에서 이스라엘 자손과 맺게 하신 언약의 말씀이니, 호렙에서 그들과 맺으신 언약과는 별도의 것입니다.
2 Moses called to all Israel, and said to them: Your eyes have seen all that Yahweh did in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land;And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that Jehovah did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land;모세가 온 이스라엘을 불러 그들에게 말하였습니다. "여러분은 여호와께서 이집트 땅에서 바로와 그의 모든 신하들과 그의 온 땅에 행하신 모든 일을 여러분의 눈으로 보았습니다.
3 the great trials which your eyes saw, the signs, and those great wonders.the great trials which thine eyes saw, the signs, and those great wonders:곧 여러분의 눈으로 본 그 큰 시험과 표징과 그 큰 이적들입니다.
4 But Yahweh has not given you a heart to know, eyes to see, and ears to hear, to this day.but Jehovah hath not given you a heart to know, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.그러나 여호와께서는 오늘까지 여러분에게 깨닫는 마음과 보는 눈과 듣는 귀를 주지 아니하셨습니다.
5 I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not grown old on you, and your sandals have not grown old on your feet.And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxed old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxed old upon thy foot.내가 사십 년 동안 여러분을 광야에서 인도하였으나, 여러분의 옷이 몸에서 해어지지 아니하였고 여러분의 발에 신은 신이 닳지 아니하였습니다.
6 You have not eaten bread, neither have you drunk wine or strong drink, that you may know that I am Yahweh your God.Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink; that ye may know that I am Jehovah your God.여러분은 빵도 먹지 못하고 포도주나 독한 술도 마시지 못하였으니, 이는 나 여호와가 여러분의 하나님인 줄을 여러분이 알게 하려 함입니다.
7 When you came to this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon and Og the king of Bashan came out against us to battle, and we struck them.And when ye came unto this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us unto battle, and we smote them:여러분이 이곳에 이르렀을 때에 헤스본 왕 시혼과 바산 왕 옥이 우리를 대적하여 싸우러 나왔으나, 우리가 그들을 쳐서
8 We took their land, and gave it for an inheritance to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half-tribe of the Manassites.and we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance unto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half-tribe of the Manassites.그들의 땅을 빼앗아 르우벤 사람과 갓 사람과 므낫세 반 지파에게 기업으로 주었습니다.
9 Therefore keep the words of this covenant and do them, that you may prosper in all that you do.Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.그러므로 여러분은 이 언약의 말씀을 지켜 행하십시오. 그리하면 여러분이 행하는 모든 일이 형통할 것입니다.
10 All of you stand today in the presence of Yahweh your God: your heads, your tribes, your elders, and your officers, even all the men of Israel,Ye stand this day all of you before Jehovah your God; your heads, your tribes, your elders, and your officers, even all the men of Israel,오늘 여러분은 모두 여러분의 하나님 여호와 앞에 서 있습니다. 여러분의 수령들과 여러분의 지파들과 여러분의 장로들과 여러분의 관리들, 곧 이스라엘의 모든 사람과
11 your little ones, your wives, and the foreigners who are in the middle of your camps, from the one who cuts your wood to the one who draws your water,your little ones, your wives, and thy sojourner that is in the midst of thy camps, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water;여러분의 어린아이들과 여러분의 아내들과 여러분의 진영 가운데 있는 이방 사람, 곧 여러분을 위해 나무를 패는 자에서부터 물을 긷는 자까지가 다 서 있습니다.
12 that you may enter into the covenant of Yahweh your God, and into his oath, which Yahweh your God makes with you today,that thou mayest enter into the covenant of Jehovah thy God, and into his oath, which Jehovah thy God maketh with thee this day;이는 여러분이 오늘 여러분의 하나님 여호와께서 여러분과 맺으시는 그 언약과 맹세에 들어가게 하려 함이니,
13 that he may establish you today as his people, and that he may be your God, as he spoke to you and as he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.that he may establish thee this day unto himself for a people, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he spake unto thee, and as he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.오늘 여러분을 세워 자기 백성으로 삼으시고 여러분에게 하나님이 되어 주시려는 것입니다. 이는 그분이 여러분에게 말씀하신 대로요, 여러분의 조상 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 맹세하신 대로입니다.
14 Neither do I make this covenant and this oath with you only,Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath,내가 이 언약과 이 맹세를 여러분하고만 맺는 것이 아니라,
15 but with those who stand here with us today before Yahweh our God, and also with those who are not here with us todaybut with him that standeth here with us this day before Jehovah our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day오늘 우리 하나님 여호와 앞에서 우리와 함께 여기 서 있는 자뿐만 아니라, 오늘 우리와 함께 여기 있지 아니한 자와도 맺는 것입니다.
16 ( for you know how we lived in the land of Egypt, and how we came through the middle of the nations through which you passed;( for ye know how we dwelt in the land of Egypt, and how we came through the midst of the nations through which ye passed;(여러분은 우리가 이집트 땅에서 어떻게 살았는지, 또 우리가 여러 민족들 가운데를 지나오면서 어떻게 통과하였는지를 알고 있습니다.
17 and you have seen their abominations and their idols of wood, stone, silver, and gold, which were among them );and ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them );여러분은 그들의 가증한 것들과 그들 가운데 있던 우상들, 곧 나무와 돌과 은과 금으로 만든 것들을 보았습니다.)
18 lest there should be among you man, woman, family, or tribe whose heart turns away today from Yahweh our God, to go to serve the gods of those nations; lest there should be among you a root that produces bitter poison;lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from Jehovah our God, to go to serve the gods of those nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;그러니 오늘 여러분 가운데 어떤 남자나 여자나 가족이나 지파가, 그 마음이 우리 하나님 여호와를 떠나 그 민족들의 신들을 섬기러 가는 일이 없도록 하십시오. 여러분 가운데 독초와 쑥을 내는 뿌리가 없게 하십시오.
19 and it happen, when he hears the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, “ I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart,” to destroy the moist with the dry.and it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, to destroy the moist with the dry.그가 이 저주의 말을 듣고도 마음속으로 스스로 복을 빌며 말하기를 "내가 내 마음의 완고함을 따라 행하여 마른 것과 젖은 것을 다 멸할지라도 내게는 평안이 있으리라" 할까 두렵습니다.
20 Yahweh will not pardon him, but then Yahweh’s anger and his jealousy will smoke against that man, and all the curse that is written in this book will fall on him, and Yahweh will blot out his name from under the sky.Jehovah will not pardon him, but then the anger of Jehovah and his jealousy will smoke against that man, and all the curse that is written in this book shall lie upon him, and Jehovah will blot out his name from under heaven.여호와께서는 그런 자를 결코 용서하지 아니하시고, 도리어 여호와의 진노와 질투가 그 사람에게 연기처럼 타오를 것이며, 이 책에 기록된 모든 저주가 그에게 임할 것이요, 여호와께서 하늘 아래에서 그의 이름을 지워 버리실 것입니다.
21 Yahweh will set him apart for evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant written in this book of the law.And Jehovah will set him apart unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that is written in this book of the law.여호와께서는 이 율법책에 기록된 언약의 모든 저주대로 그를 이스라엘 모든 지파 가운데서 구별하여 재앙에 넘기실 것입니다.
22 The generation to come — your children who will rise up after you, and the foreigner who will come from a far land— will say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses with which Yahweh has made it sick,And the generation to come, your children that shall rise up after you, and the foreigner that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses wherewith Jehovah hath made it sick;여러분의 뒤를 이어 일어날 여러분의 자손인 다음 세대와 먼 땅에서 오는 이방 사람이, 그 땅의 재앙과 여호와께서 그 땅에 내리신 질병들을 보고
23 that all of its land is sulfur, salt, and burning, that it is not sown, doesn’t produce, nor does any grass grow in it, like the overthrow of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, which Yahweh overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath.and that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and a burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which Jehovah overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:또 그 온 땅이 유황과 소금으로 불탄 것을 보고 말할 것입니다. 곧 그 땅은 씨를 뿌리지도 못하고 소출도 없으며 아무 풀도 자라지 못하여, 여호와께서 진노와 분노로 멸하신 소돔과 고모라와 아드마와 스보임의 멸망과 같을 것입니다.
24 Even all the nations will say, “ Why has Yahweh done this to this land? What does the heat of this great anger mean?”even all the nations shall say, Wherefore hath Jehovah done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?모든 민족이 말하기를 "여호와께서 어찌하여 이 땅에 이같이 행하셨는가? 이 크게 타오르는 진노는 무엇을 뜻하는가?" 할 것이요,
25 Then men will say, “Because they abandoned the covenant of Yahweh, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them out of the land of Egypt,Then men shall say, Because they forsook the covenant of Jehovah, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt,사람들이 대답하기를 "이는 그들이 여호와께서 그들을 이집트 땅에서 인도하여 내실 때에 그들과 맺으신 그들 조상의 하나님 여호와의 언약을 버리고
26 and went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods that they didn’t know and that he had not given to them.and went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods that they knew not, and that he had not given unto them:가서 다른 신들을 섬기고 그것들에게 경배하였기 때문이니, 그 신들은 그들이 알지도 못하던 것이요 여호와께서 그들에게 주지도 아니하신 것이라.
27 Therefore Yahweh’s anger burned against this land, to bring on it all the curses that are written in this book.therefore the anger of Jehovah was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curse that is written in this book;그러므로 여호와께서 이 땅을 향하여 진노하시고 이 책에 기록된 모든 저주를 이 땅에 임하게 하셨으며,
28 Yahweh rooted them out of their land in anger, in wrath, and in great indignation, and thrust them into another land, as it is today.”and Jehovah rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as at this day.여호와께서 진노와 분노와 큰 격분으로 그들을 그 땅에서 뽑아내어 다른 땅으로 내던지셨으니 오늘과 같으니라" 할 것입니다.
29 The secret things belong to Yahweh our God; but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.The secret things belong unto Jehovah our God; but the things that are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.감추어진 일들은 우리 하나님 여호와께 속하였으나, 드러난 일들은 영원히 우리와 우리 자손에게 속하였으니, 이는 우리로 이 율법의 모든 말씀을 행하게 하려 함입니다.
