1 Moses called to all Israel, and said to them, “ Hear, Israel, the statutes and the ordinances which I speak in your ears today, that you may learn them, and observe to do them.”And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and the ordinances which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and observe to do them.모세가 온 이스라엘을 불러 그들에게 말했습니다. "이스라엘아, 들으라. 내가 오늘 너희 귀에 들려주는 규례와 법도를 들으라. 너희는 이것을 배우고 지켜 행하여라.
2 Yahweh our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.Jehovah our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.우리 하나님 여호와께서 호렙에서 우리와 언약을 세우셨다.
3 Yahweh didn’t make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive today.Jehovah made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.여호와께서는 이 언약을 우리 조상들과 세우신 것이 아니라, 바로 우리, 오늘 여기에 다 함께 살아 있는 우리와 세우셨다.
4 Yahweh spoke with you face to face on the mountain out of the middle of the fire,Jehovah spake with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire여호와께서는 그 산에서 불 가운데로부터 너희와 얼굴을 마주하여 말씀하셨다.
5 ( I stood between Yahweh and you at that time, to show you Yahweh’s word; for you were afraid because of the fire, and didn’t go up onto the mountain ) saying,( I stood between Jehovah and you at that time, to show you the word of Jehovah: for ye were afraid because of the fire, and went not up into the mount ), saying,(그때 나는 여호와와 너희 사이에 서서 여호와의 말씀을 너희에게 전했다. 너희가 불을 두려워하여 산에 올라가지 못했기 때문이다.) 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨다.
6 “ I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.I am Jehovah thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.'나는 너를 이집트 땅, 종살이하던 집에서 이끌어 낸 너의 하나님 여호와다.
7 “ You shall have no other gods before me.Thou shalt have no other gods before me.너는 나 외에 다른 신들을 두지 마라.
8 “ You shall not make a carved image for yourself — any likeness of what is in heaven above, or what is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:너는 너를 위하여 새긴 우상을 만들지 마라. 위로 하늘에 있는 것이나, 아래로 땅에 있는 것이나, 땅 아래 물속에 있는 것의 어떤 형상도 만들지 마라.
9 You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate methou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them; for I, Jehovah, thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate me;너는 그것들에게 절하지 말고 섬기지도 마라. 나 여호와 네 하나님은 질투하는 하나님이어서, 나를 미워하는 자들에게는 그 조상의 죄악을 자손에게로 삼사 대까지 갚되,
10 and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.and showing lovingkindness unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.나를 사랑하고 내 계명을 지키는 자에게는 천 대에 이르도록 인자를 베푼다.
11 “ You shall not misuse the name of Yahweh your God; for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless who misuses his name.Thou shalt not take the name of Jehovah thy God in vain: for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.너는 너의 하나님 여호와의 이름을 헛되이 부르지 마라. 여호와께서는 자기 이름을 헛되이 부르는 자를 죄 없다 하지 않으신다.
12 “ Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as Yahweh your God commanded you.Observe the sabbath day, to keep it holy, as Jehovah thy God commanded thee.너의 하나님 여호와께서 네게 명령하신 대로, 안식일을 지켜 거룩하게 하여라.
13 You shall labor six days, and do all your work;Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work;너는 엿새 동안 일하며 네 모든 일을 하여라.
14 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God, in which you shall not do any work — neither you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates; that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.but the seventh day is a sabbath unto Jehovah thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy man-servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy man-servant and thy maid-servant may rest as well as thou.그러나 일곱째 날은 너의 하나님 여호와의 안식일이니, 그날에는 너나 네 아들이나 네 딸이나 네 남종이나 네 여종이나 네 소나 네 나귀나 네 모든 가축이나 네 성문 안에 있는 나그네 할 것 없이 아무 일도 하지 마라. 그리하여 네 남종과 여종도 너처럼 쉬게 하여라.
15 You shall remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and Yahweh your God brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm. Therefore Yahweh your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.And thou shalt remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and Jehovah thy God brought thee out thence by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm: therefore Jehovah thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.너는 네가 이집트 땅에서 종이었던 것과, 너의 하나님 여호와께서 강한 손과 펴신 팔로 너를 거기에서 이끌어 내신 것을 기억하여라. 그러므로 너의 하나님 여호와께서 네게 안식일을 지키라고 명령하신 것이다.
16 “ Honor your father and your mother, as Yahweh your God commanded you, that your days may be long and that it may go well with you in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.Honor thy father and thy mother, as Jehovah thy God commanded thee; that thy days may be long, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee.너의 하나님 여호와께서 네게 명령하신 대로, 네 아버지와 네 어머니를 공경하여라. 그리하면 너의 하나님 여호와께서 네게 주시는 땅에서 네 날이 길고 네가 잘 될 것이다.
17 “ You shall not murder.Thou shalt not kill.너는 살인하지 마라.
18 “ You shall not commit adultery.Neither shalt thou commit adultery.너는 간음하지 마라.
19 “ You shall not steal.Neither shalt thou steal.너는 도둑질하지 마라.
20 “ You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbor.너는 네 이웃에 대하여 거짓 증언을 하지 마라.
21 “ You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife. Neither shall you desire your neighbor’s house, his field, or his male servant, or his female servant, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.”Neither shalt thou covet thy neighbor’s wife; neither shalt thou desire thy neighbor’s house, his field, or his man-servant, or his maid-servant, his ox, or his ass, or anything that is thy neighbor’s.너는 네 이웃의 아내를 탐내지 마라. 네 이웃의 집이나 그의 밭이나 그의 남종이나 여종이나 그의 소나 나귀나, 네 이웃의 어떤 것도 욕심내지 마라.'
22 Yahweh spoke these words to all your assembly on the mountain out of the middle of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice. He added no more. He wrote them on two stone tablets, and gave them to me.These words Jehovah spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them upon two tables of stone, and gave them unto me.이 말씀들을 여호와께서 산에서 불과 구름과 짙은 어둠 가운데로부터 큰 음성으로 너희 온 회중에게 말씀하셨고, 더 이상 덧붙이지 않으셨다. 그리고 그것을 두 돌판에 써서 내게 주셨다.
23 When you heard the voice out of the middle of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, you came near to me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;산이 불타고 있을 때 너희가 그 어둠 가운데서 나오는 음성을 듣고, 너희 지파의 모든 우두머리와 장로들이 내게 가까이 나아와
24 and you said, “ Behold, Yahweh our God has shown us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the middle of the fire. We have seen today that God does speak with man, and he lives.and ye said, Behold, Jehovah our God hath showed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth speak with man, and he liveth.이렇게 말했다. "보십시오, 우리 하나님 여호와께서 우리에게 그분의 영광과 위대하심을 보여 주셨고, 우리가 불 가운데서 나오는 그분의 음성을 들었습니다. 우리는 오늘 하나님께서 사람과 말씀하시는데도 그 사람이 살아 있는 것을 보았습니다.
25 Now therefore, why should we die? For this great fire will consume us. If we hear Yahweh our God’s voice any more, then we shall die.Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of Jehovah our God any more, then we shall die.그런데 이제 우리가 어찌 죽어야 하겠습니까? 이 큰 불이 우리를 삼킬 것입니다. 우리가 우리 하나님 여호와의 음성을 다시 듣는다면 우리는 죽고 말 것입니다.
26 For who is there of all flesh who has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the middle of the fire, as we have, and lived?For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?살아 계신 하나님께서 불 가운데서 말씀하시는 음성을, 우리처럼 듣고도 살아남은 사람이 모든 육체 가운데 누가 있겠습니까?
27 Go near, and hear all that Yahweh our God shall say, and tell us all that Yahweh our God tells you; and we will hear it, and do it.”Go thou near, and hear all that Jehovah our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that Jehovah our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear it, and do it.당신께서 가까이 나아가 우리 하나님 여호와께서 하시는 모든 말씀을 들으십시오. 그리고 우리 하나님 여호와께서 당신께 이르시는 모든 것을 우리에게 전해 주십시오. 그러면 우리가 듣고 행하겠습니다."
28 Yahweh heard the voice of your words when you spoke to me; and Yahweh said to me, “ I have heard the voice of the words of this people which they have spoken to you. They have well said all that they have spoken.And Jehovah heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and Jehovah said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.너희가 내게 말할 때에 여호와께서 너희가 한 말의 음성을 들으셨다. 그리고 여호와께서 내게 말씀하셨다. "이 백성이 네게 한 말의 음성을 내가 들었다. 그들이 한 말은 다 옳다.
29 Oh that there were such a heart in them that they would fear me and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them and with their children forever!Oh that there were such a heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!이런 마음이 그들에게 늘 있어서 나를 경외하고 내 모든 계명을 항상 지킨다면 얼마나 좋겠느냐! 그리하면 그들과 그들의 자손이 영원히 잘 될 것이다.
30 “ Go tell them, ‘ Return to your tents.’Go say to them, Return ye to your tents.가서 그들에게 '너희 장막으로 돌아가라' 하고 일러라.
31 But as for you, stand here by me, and I will tell you all the commandments, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which you shall teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess.”But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandment, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.그러나 너는 여기 내 곁에 서 있어라. 내가 너에게 모든 계명과 규례와 법도를 일러 줄 터이니, 너는 그것을 그들에게 가르쳐서, 내가 그들에게 차지하라고 주는 땅에서 그것을 행하게 하여라."
32 You shall observe to do therefore as Yahweh your God has commanded you. You shall not turn away to the right hand or to the left.Ye shall observe to do therefore as Jehovah your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.그러므로 너희는 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희에게 명령하신 대로 지켜 행하고, 오른쪽으로나 왼쪽으로나 치우치지 마라.
33 You shall walk in all the way which Yahweh your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.Ye shall walk in all the way which Jehovah your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.너희는 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희에게 명령하신 모든 길로 걸어가라. 그리하면 너희가 살고, 너희가 잘 되며, 너희가 차지할 땅에서 너희 날이 길 것이다.
