1 If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you, and he gives you a sign or a wonder,If there arise in the midst of thee a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and he give thee a sign or a wonder,만일 너희 가운데서 선지자나 꿈꾸는 자가 일어나 너희에게 표징이나 기사를 보이며,
2 and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, “ Let’s go after other gods” ( which you have not known) “ and let’s serve them,”and the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;그가 너희에게 말한 그 표징이나 기사가 그대로 이루어지면서 "너희가 알지 못하던 다른 신들을 따라가 그들을 섬기자" 하고 말하더라도,
3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet, or to that dreamer of dreams; for Yahweh your God is testing you, to know whether you love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul.thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or unto that dreamer of dreams: for Jehovah your God proveth you, to know whether ye love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul.너희는 그 선지자나 그 꿈꾸는 자의 말을 듣지 마라. 이는 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희가 마음을 다하고 뜻을 다하여 너희 하나님 여호와를 사랑하는지 알고자 너희를 시험하시는 것이다.
4 You shall walk after Yahweh your God, fear him, keep his commandments, and obey his voice. You shall serve him, and cling to him.Ye shall walk after Jehovah your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.너희는 너희 하나님 여호와를 따라 그분을 경외하며 그분의 계명을 지키고 그분의 음성에 순종하며 그분을 섬기고 그분께 굳게 붙어 있어라.
5 That prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death, because he has spoken rebellion against Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to draw you aside out of the way which Yahweh your God commanded you to walk in. So you shall remove the evil from among you.And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death, because he hath spoken rebellion against Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of bondage, to draw thee aside out of the way which Jehovah thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put away the evil from the midst of thee.그 선지자나 그 꿈꾸는 자는 죽임을 당해야 한다. 그는 너희를 이집트 땅에서 인도해 내시고 종살이하던 집에서 속량하신 너희 하나님 여호와를 거슬러 반역을 말하였고, 너희 하나님 여호와께서 걸어가라고 명하신 길에서 너희를 벗어나게 하려 하였기 때문이다. 너희는 이렇게 너희 가운데서 악을 제거하여라.
6 If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son, or your daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own soul, entices you secretly, saying, “ Let’s go and serve other gods”— which you have not known, you, nor your fathers;If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, that is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;만일 네 어머니의 아들 곧 네 형제나 네 아들이나 네 딸이나 네 품의 아내나 네 목숨처럼 여기는 친구가 너를 은밀히 꾀어 "우리가 가서 너와 네 조상이 알지 못하던 다른 신들을 섬기자" 하더라도,
7 of the gods of the peoples who are around you, near to you, or far off from you, from the one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth—of the gods of the peoples that are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;그것이 네 주위 가까이 있는 백성들의 신이든 멀리 떨어진 백성들의 신이든, 땅 이 끝에서 저 끝까지 어디의 신이든,
8 you shall not consent to him nor listen to him; neither shall your eye pity him, neither shall you spare, neither shall you conceal him;thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:너는 그에게 동의하지 말고 그의 말을 듣지 마라. 네 눈으로 그를 불쌍히 여기지 말고 그를 아끼지 말며 그를 숨겨 주지도 마라.
9 but you shall surely kill him. Your hand shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterwards the hands of all the people.but thou shalt surely kill him; thy hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.너는 반드시 그를 죽여라. 그를 죽이는 일에 네 손이 먼저 그에게 닿고, 그 후에 모든 백성의 손이 닿게 하여라.
10 You shall stone him to death with stones, because he has sought to draw you away from Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.And thou shalt stone him to death with stones, because he hath sought to draw thee away from Jehovah thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.너는 그를 돌로 쳐 죽여라. 이는 그가 너를 이집트 땅 곧 종살이하던 집에서 인도해 내신 너희 하나님 여호와에게서 너를 떠나게 하려 하였기 때문이다.
11 All Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall not do any more wickedness like this among you.And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is in the midst of thee.그리하면 온 이스라엘이 그 일을 듣고 두려워하여 너희 가운데서 다시는 이같은 악한 일을 행하지 않을 것이다.
12 If you hear about one of your cities, which Yahweh your God gives you to dwell there, thatIf thou shalt hear tell concerning one of thy cities, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee to dwell there, saying,너희 하나님 여호와께서 너에게 주어 거하게 하시는 성읍들 가운데 어느 한 곳에 대하여 이런 말이 들리거든,
13 certain wicked fellows have gone out from among you and have drawn away the inhabitants of their city, saying, “ Let’s go and serve other gods,” which you have not known,Certain base fellows are gone out from the midst of thee, and have drawn away the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;곧 너희 가운데서 나온 못된 자들이 그 성읍 주민들을 꾀어 "우리가 가서 너희가 알지 못하던 다른 신들을 섬기자" 하였다 하거든,
14 then you shall inquire, investigate, and ask diligently. Behold, if it is true, and the thing certain, that such abomination was done among you,then shalt thou inquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in the midst of thee,너는 자세히 묻고 살피며 부지런히 캐물어라. 보라, 그것이 사실이고 확실하여 그런 가증한 일이 너희 가운데서 행해졌으면,
15 you shall surely strike the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, with all that is therein and its livestock, with the edge of the sword.thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.너는 반드시 그 성읍 주민들을 칼날로 쳐서 그 성읍과 그 안에 있는 모든 것과 가축까지 칼날로 진멸하여라.
16 You shall gather all its plunder into the middle of its street, and shall burn with fire the city, with all of its plunder, to Yahweh your God. It shall be a heap forever. It shall not be built again.And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, unto Jehovah thy God: and it shall be a heap for ever; it shall not be built again.그리고 그 모든 노략물을 그 성읍 광장 한가운데로 모아 놓고, 그 성읍과 그 모든 노략물을 너희 하나님 여호와께 바치는 것으로 불에 살라라. 그 성읍은 영원히 폐허 더미가 되어 다시는 세워지지 않을 것이다.
17 Nothing of the devoted thing shall cling to your hand, that Yahweh may turn from the fierceness of his anger and show you mercy, and have compassion on you and multiply you, as he has sworn to your fathers,And there shall cleave nought of the devoted thing to thy hand; that Jehovah may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and show thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers;진멸하기로 바친 그 어떤 것도 네 손에 붙어 있지 못하게 하여라. 그리하면 여호와께서 그 맹렬한 진노를 돌이키시고 너에게 긍휼을 베푸시며 너를 불쌍히 여기시고, 네 조상들에게 맹세하신 대로 너를 번성하게 하실 것이다.
18 when you listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, to keep all his commandments which I command you today, to do that which is right in Yahweh your God’s eyes.when thou shalt hearken to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah thy God.곧 너희가 너희 하나님 여호와의 음성에 순종하여 오늘 내가 너에게 명하는 그분의 모든 계명을 지키고 너희 하나님 여호와께서 보시기에 옳은 일을 행할 때에 그러하실 것이다.
