1 The priests and the Levites — all the tribe of Levi — shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel. They shall eat the offerings of Yahweh made by fire and his portion.The priests the Levites, even all the tribe of Levi, shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of Jehovah made by fire, and his inheritance.레위 사람 제사장들, 곧 레위 지파 전체는 이스라엘과 함께 받을 몫이나 유산이 없을 것이다. 그들은 여호와께 불로 드린 제물과 여호와의 유산을 먹을 것이다.
2 They shall have no inheritance among their brothers. Yahweh is their inheritance, as he has spoken to them.And they shall have no inheritance among their brethren: Jehovah is their inheritance, as he hath spoken unto them.그들은 자기 형제들 가운데서 유산을 받지 못한다. 여호와께서 그들에게 말씀하신 대로, 여호와께서 친히 그들의 유산이 되신다.
3 This shall be the priests’ due from the people, from those who offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep, that they shall give to the priest: the shoulder, the two cheeks, and the inner parts.And this shall be the priests’ due from the people, from them that offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep, that they shall give unto the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw.제사장들이 백성에게서, 곧 소나 양으로 제사를 드리는 사람들에게서 받을 몫은 이것이니, 제사장에게 그 앞다리와 두 볼과 위(밥통)를 줄 것이다.
4 You shall give him the first fruits of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the first of the fleece of your sheep.The first-fruits of thy grain, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the fleece of thy sheep, shalt thou give him.너는 네 곡식과 새 포도주와 기름의 첫 소산과 네 양 털을 처음 깎은 것을 그에게 주어라.
5 For Yahweh your God has chosen him out of all your tribes to stand to minister in Yahweh’s name, him and his sons forever.For Jehovah thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of Jehovah, him and his sons for ever.여호와 너의 하나님께서 네 모든 지파 가운데서 그를 택하셔서, 그와 그의 자손이 영원히 여호와의 이름으로 서서 섬기게 하셨기 때문이다.
6 If a Levite comes from any of your gates out of all Israel where he lives, and comes with all the desire of his soul to the place which Yahweh shall choose,And if a Levite come from any of thy gates out of all Israel, where he sojourneth, and come with all the desire of his soul unto the place which Jehovah shall choose;만약 어떤 레위 사람이 이스라엘 전역에 있는 네 성읍 가운데 나그네로 머물던 곳에서 와서, 온 마음의 소원을 다해 여호와께서 택하실 그곳으로 나아오면,
7 then he shall minister in the name of Yahweh his God, as all his brothers the Levites do, who stand there before Yahweh.then he shall minister in the name of Jehovah his God, as all his brethren the Levites do, who stand there before Jehovah.그는 거기 여호와 앞에 서서 섬기는 모든 형제 레위 사람들처럼 여호와 자기 하나님의 이름으로 섬길 수 있다.
8 They shall have like portions to eat, in addition to that which comes from the sale of his family possessions.They shall have like portions to eat, besides that which cometh of the sale of his patrimony.그들은 똑같은 몫을 먹을 것이니, 이는 그가 자기 조상의 재산을 판 것 외에 받는 것이다.
9 When you have come into the land which Yahweh your God gives you, you shall not learn to imitate the abominations of those nations.When thou art come into the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.여호와 너의 하나님께서 네게 주시는 땅에 들어가거든, 너는 그 민족들의 가증한 일을 본받아 행하기를 배우지 마라.
10 There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who tells fortunes, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,There shall not be found with thee any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one that useth divination, one that practiseth augury, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,너희 가운데 자기 아들이나 딸을 불 가운데로 지나가게 하는 자나, 점치는 자나, 길흉을 보는 자나, 요술하는 자나, 마법사나,
11 or a charmer, or someone who consults with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer.or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer.진언하는 자나, 신접한 자에게 묻는 자나, 박수나, 죽은 자에게 묻는 자가 있어서는 안 된다.
12 For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh. Because of these abominations, Yahweh your God drives them out from before you.For whosoever doeth these things is an abomination unto Jehovah: and because of these abominations Jehovah thy God doth drive them out from before thee.이런 일을 하는 자는 누구든지 여호와께 가증하니, 이런 가증한 일들 때문에 여호와 너의 하나님께서 그들을 네 앞에서 쫓아내신다.
13 You shall be blameless with Yahweh your God.Thou shalt be perfect with Jehovah thy God.너는 여호와 너의 하나님 앞에서 흠 없이 온전하여라.
14 For these nations that you shall dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery and to diviners; but as for you, Yahweh your God has not allowed you so to do.For these nations, that thou shalt dispossess, hearken unto them that practise augury, and unto diviners; but as for thee, Jehovah thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.네가 쫓아낼 이 민족들은 요술하는 자와 점치는 자의 말을 듣지만, 너에 대해서는 여호와 너의 하나님께서 그렇게 하도록 허락하지 않으셨다.
15 Yahweh your God will raise up to you a prophet from among you, of your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him.Jehovah thy God will raise up unto thee a prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;여호와 너의 하나님께서 너를 위하여 네 가운데서, 네 형제들 가운데서 나와 같은 한 선지자를 일으키실 것이니, 너희는 그의 말을 들어야 한다.
16 This is according to all that you desired of Yahweh your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, “ Let me not hear again Yahweh my God’s voice, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I not die.”according to all that thou desiredst of Jehovah thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of Jehovah my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.이는 네가 호렙에서 총회의 날에 여호와 너의 하나님께 구한 모든 것을 따른 것이니, 그때 네가 말하기를 "내가 여호와 내 하나님의 음성을 다시 듣지 않게 하시고, 이 큰 불을 다시는 보지 않게 하셔서, 내가 죽지 않게 하소서" 하였다.
17 Yahweh said to me, “ They have well said that which they have spoken.And Jehovah said unto me, They have well said that which they have spoken.여호와께서 내게 말씀하셨다. "그들이 말한 것이 옳다.
18 I will raise them up a prophet from among their brothers, like you. I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.내가 그들을 위하여 그들의 형제들 가운데서 너와 같은 한 선지자를 일으켜, 내 말을 그의 입에 두리니, 그가 내가 명하는 모든 것을 그들에게 말할 것이다.
19 It shall happen, that whoever will not listen to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.내 이름으로 그가 전할 내 말을 듣지 않는 자는 누구든지 내가 그에게 책임을 물을 것이다.
20 But the prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.”But the prophet, that shall speak a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.그러나 내가 명하지 않은 말을 주제넘게 내 이름으로 말하거나, 다른 신들의 이름으로 말하는 선지자, 그 선지자는 죽을 것이다."
21 You may say in your heart, “ How shall we know the word which Yahweh has not spoken?”And if thou say in thy heart, How shall we know the word which Jehovah hath not spoken?네가 마음속으로 "여호와께서 하지 않으신 말씀을 우리가 어떻게 알 수 있는가?" 하고 말한다면,
22 When a prophet speaks in Yahweh’s name, if the thing doesn’t follow, nor happen, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You shall not be afraid of him.when a prophet speaketh in the name of Jehovah, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which Jehovah hath not spoken: the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously, thou shalt not be afraid of him.한 선지자가 여호와의 이름으로 말한 것이 그대로 되지 않거나 이루어지지 않으면, 그것은 여호와께서 하지 않으신 말씀이다. 그 선지자가 주제넘게 말한 것이니, 너는 그를 두려워하지 마라.
